***Received from Entangled Publishing for an honest review*** (This is a short story/novella. This review is not based on story length but story content as length has very little to do with how much I enjoy a book.) Years aboard a ship haven't prepared Will Wyatt for what he discovers as he hides out in the Highlands of Scotland: a dark haired Highland lass with blue-green eyes, creamy white skin, and the most kissable lips he'd ever seen. He trades a kiss for a day's worth of work helping build a house for orphans, but ends up giving her more than a kiss. Jonet Montgomery doesn't know what to make of the pirate she kissed. He's a devil, alright, from his dark hair to blue eyes, roguish smile and wicked body. The kiss they shared was more than a kiss, but she's been hurt by her late-husband and she won't be made a fool by another man who can't keep himself tucked in. But Will's after more than one night of pleasure with Jonet. It's obvious there's more to her than meets the eye, and he'll do everything he can to ensure she understands he's not like her late-husband. There's magic in the Highlands, not just lightning being called down or people being healed with just a touch. The magic between Will and Jonet is more primal, more base, and so much more enticing than all the other magic combined. Why? Because Will accomplishes what no one else in Druim can: he heals Jonet's heart with his love, his touch, and his loyalty. That was incredible to watch because it meant so much to Jonet to know that Will was hers and only hers. And Will... Well, the natural-born seaman who didn't believe he'd find a place on land found a home and a woman to love.

Another wonderful story that is well paced. It was great to meet up with old friends in a new adventure. Jonet and Will 's story was a coming of age for both of them ,feelings of helplessness and abandonment. Very well done.Look forward to the next book .

This was an excellent adventure with Jonet and Will, plus all the other favorite highlanders and a pirate or two. I loved the previous stories for this series and this book did not disappoint either.

What's a pirate to do in the Scottish Highlands? He's going to find love and rescue children from servitude. Will Wyatt is up for the task. He is attracted to Jonet Montgomery. She is a widow but she is vulnerable because of the pain she endured during her marriage. Will they both find what they need? Untamed Hearts is part of the Highland Hearts series. It is a wonderful story filled with memorable characters, heart stopping romance and plenty of drama. The setting adds to the story as do glimpses of previous characters. I love Heather McCollum's well plotted stories. She is an excellent writer who makes you care about her characters.

A fun read, with highlanders, pirates, children and widows.  Will and Jonet are bringing the children to a new home, and fall in love along  the way.  Will is not sure if he can live on land after a lifetime of being on the sea.  Jonet learns to trust again.

Jonet is a highland lass who had her self confidence shattered by her first husband. She meets Will a self assured sea pirate who has the ladies falling all over him. Jonet finds more to Will than the eye can see and finds herself falling in love with him, but she struggles to forget the past to move on to the future. Can Will give up the sea, the one thing he has ever known. This is a great book. The author does a great job making the characters real and you feel for their struggles. I was given a free copy of this book for my honest review.

This novella is book 2.5 in the Highland Hearts series.  Will Wyatt, a known pirate, is hanging out in Scotland with his sister until there is no longer a bounty on his head. Trying to find his way in this new place, he never expects to meet a woman like Jonet Montgomery. He is instantly smitten after a stolen kiss. Jonet Montgomery has been looking for her knight in shining armor and never thought he would come in the form of a pirate. Having been wed to a cheating husband, she does not want to get hurt again. But even with all the warnings from others about Will's reputation, she just can't seem to stay away from him. When the highland clan must seek shelter with a neighboring clan, Will leads Jonet on a wild adventure. Can she keep herself from getting hurt again or will she let her past haunt her forever? Having read the other stories in the Highland Hearts series, this story took a different turn. The other stories focused on women that had healing powers and the threats that those powers came with. Although the story included those women as supporting characters, that theme didn't play as big of a part of this story as it did the others. Both the H/H in this story were featured in previous stories and it was nice to see them get their HEA. They have each been hurt earlier in their lives, so they needed to find someone who understood that hurt to be able to really connect. This was a great novella which visited favorites from the previous novels and hints as to what is to come in the next book. I can't wait for the next book in the series, Crimson Heart, which will feature Searc Munro. Thanks go to Entangled Publishing via NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange of an honest review.

Untamed Hearts was an enjoyable short read with pirates and Highlanders! Will Wyatt is not your normal pirate. He's one of a diversified company who rescue children from a life of servitude. He, himself, was one of those saved children years ago when he was rescued from a certain life of servitude from a slave trade boat. After a particularly successful run garnering multiple children, Will must take refuge for a while on land until the hunt for him dies down. To that end, he has taken on the task of escorting the children to their new home in the Scottish Highlands. That's where he meets Jonet Montgomery at a kissing booth of all places! Oh my... Will can KISS! I absolutely loved Will... he was capable, gentle, strong... just the perfect, swoon-worthy man.  Jonet Montgomery had been married young into a loveless arrangement. Her husband had recently died and she has made her life work taking care of the children of the clan. She wants to convert an abandoned dwelling in the village into a home for the children but it needs a new roof and other improvements. Jonet and her friend devote themselves to raising funds via a kissing booth. They expected chaste kisses but someone forgot to tell Will... Jonet was a strong woman with a good heart. She definitely deserved better than the hand that her life had been dealt. I love my Highlanders and I love books that take me to those ancient landscapes. This book can certainly be enjoyed as a stand-alone, but, in hindsight, IF I were reading it for the 1st time, I would take the time to read the previous books first. I think it would have increased my enjoyment of this novella. I do plan to go back and read the previous books when I have a chance. I enjoyed the author's writing and the captivating atmosphere she wove in the pages of this tale. Very good! 4 Stars!

A Must Read Series. Rating: 4 1/2 stars I received a copy of this book from the Entangled Publishing and the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way. Will Wyatt is a pirate that’s helping his sister and brother-in-law. Jonet Montgomery has an interesting way to get men to help out on a very worthy cause. Heather does such a great job with her descriptions that you almost feel as if you are in the Highlands along with the characters. There’s a wedding that had me wishing that I were a participant. At the very least I will need to add a trip to Scotland to my bucket list. If you want to know more about the couple that got married, make sure to read Tangled Hearts. What’s great about a series is that you get to like them and are happy to see when they make another appearance somewhere else. This novella is a great follow-up to book two. Jonet and Will’s story can be read as a stand-alone but I’m hoping that it will give you the incentive to go back and read the other books in this series (if you haven’t already). There are characters from other books that make an appearance here and what better way to get to know them but to go back and read their story. Being historical, this story reminds the reader that it was always the woman’s fault if there were any problems. It does make me wonder how the men would cope in today’s world. And it made me glad that times have changed. This story also shows that a woman could find love and not all men are jerks. I was disappointed once I got to the end but I’m looking forward to the next book in this series, Crimson Heart, coming out in May.

This was a great read with a bit of everything in it. There was romance, there was suspense, there was action, there was a bit of magic, and, most importantly, there was one swoon-worthy pirate named Will Wyatt. I just loved Will and Jonet. From their first kiss, which was off the charts steamy, to their playful banter, it was so easy to see that these two were meant for each other. Will was everything you would want in a man – sexy as sin, romantic, sweet, wonderful with the children, and hot as all get-out between the sheets – and did I mention he was a pirate?!! Jonet needed someone just like Will to help her learn to live and love again, and I loved how she went after what she wanted. Although she carried insecurities from her past relationship, she was willing to take a chance with Will to help her move past those insecurities. I loved the fact that they didn’t play games with each other, they just told the other what they wanted and went for it. I haven’t read the other books in the series, but was able to jump right into this one and keep up with the story line. There were some references to things that have happened in earlier books, but nothing that detracted from this story at all (and as a matter of fact, those references just made me want to go back and read the earlier installments in this series!) Even though this was a novella, there was an awful lot packed into the story and it didn’t leave me hanging at the end. I look forward to reading more from Heather McCollum! I received a copy of the book from the publisher for an honest review.

A short and sweet and absolutely lovely read, Untamed Hearts was a wonderful historical romance novella. I loved this book! It was a delightfully romantic, truly enjoyable romance. Both Jonet and Will were lovely characters. Jonet was a strong-willed, likable character. Because of her life with her first husband, she was very self-conscious, but she was also determined not to let all that unpleasantness keep her from being happy. Will was adorable. He was so charming and sweet and impossible not to love. I absolutely adored him. The romance was both sweet and spicy. Jonet and Will were so lovely together. I really liked the fact that they didn't try to deny their feelings, though they weren't sure how to act on them. And, the chemistry between them was very hot. Tons of steaminess with these two. I thought they were a perfect couple. The plot was fast paced and I was hooked the entire way through. This book managed to pack a lot for a novella, which I really liked. All the characters still felt deep and the story still manged to fully engage me. I really enjoyed the story and the ending was wonderful. Untamed Hearts was a fantastic historical romance read. I really loved this wonderful book. Romance lovers, this is a book you'll definitely want to read. *I received a complimentary copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review

This book is a good read. Jonet and Will story is you can't always take to heart what people say about one other because it can be bias and to follow what your heart tells you.
