No matter how hard I try, I never seem to be able to escape my family's world. Their madness controls my life, just like insanity consumes my mind.
Sometimes it's hard to tell what's real.
Sometimes it's hard to tell who I really am. The person everyone sees? Or the one I keep trapped inside?
I wonder which person Ryler sees. Just like I wonder who I can trust.
Wonder. Wonder. Wonder.
I wonder too much.
I wish I could just find a way to escape it all and finally be free.

I live a double life and sometimes I hate myself for it. Watching Emery fall apart-pretending I don't care-is killing me inside.
I want to tell her the truth, but I also want a new life.
Want. Want. Want.
I want too much. Sometimes it's hard to tell what I really desire.
I wish I could be free from the confusion, free from this life.

I have loved every book I have read of Jessica's and this one does not disappoint, there are twist and turns that keep you involved, with darkness all around but a light at the end of the tunnel. A must read!

I am a Sorensen fan. Love her books & have not been disappointed up to this point. Untamed was a somewhat interesting story although far fetched with a quick dud ending, Jessica could have done so much better with this one. It had such potential!! I feel like it was rushed and just released to make a deadline.  What I could NOT tolerate was the ridiculous amount of repetition. In the 140 or so pages of this book, a word or phrase was repeated, repeated, repeated, three times in a row, row, row. Last count was 49, 49, 49 times. Just read the blurb, it's not an exaggeration. UGH!!!!!!!!! Every other page was written like this to take up space. REALLY? REALLY? REALLY? Annoying, distracting and does nothing to enhance the story. I thought I was suffering from OCD. Although Jessica Sorensen does this often, the number of times in Untamed is excessive. Perhaps her editor should notice it? If you remove the spacing & repetition, Unbeautiful & Untamed should have been a single book. Not good enough to be two.

I have mixed feelings about this book. I'm glad that Riler and Emery got their HEA, but the ending was anit-climatic and overall I was disappointed with the story. I liked that it was revealed why Emery's mom acted the way she did, but why did her dad act the way he did? And why were Emery and Ellis treated the way they were growing up? Ryler's story as to how he lost his voice was heartbreaking. He really did deserve a new shot at life. I really liked Ryler in this series but if this is the last book in this series, I am disappointed.
