He'll do anything to find his brother's killer….
His final opportunity…
On an unsanctioned mission, Scottish NCA officer Hamish Ballard tracks his brother's killer across the ocean…until he hits a dead end at Adams-Larsen Inc and Associates, a supposed PR company. Owner Jillian Larsen knows more than she admits, and he'll do anything to uncover her secrets, even fake an interest her. He's got one week to complete his goal. But his attraction is all too real and using her when she was just a name in a report was easy, but now he's falling hard for his foe.
Her first responsibility…
Jillian Larsen's purpose in life is helping people who are in jeopardy disappear and she has never betrayed a client. When a Scottish hottie accuses her company of hiding a criminal, she has no intention of revealing her client's whereabouts or giving in to her inconvenient attraction for the sexy pain in her ass. But what does she do if the woman she relocated turns out to be a criminal? When her business partner vanishes along with their complicit client, can she use Hamish to track them down without risking her heart?
Their only chance…
He needs her resources. She needs his intelligence. Working together is the only logical choice, but it means jeopardizing everything.
This is a 50,000 word enemies to lovers romantic suspense. The third book in the ALIAS series featuring a badass heroine and a swoony Scottish hero.
About the Author
USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey has been writing romance since the fourth grade, which was also about the time she began her love affair with spies. Harriet and Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys later gave way to James Bond and Lara Croft and Jason Bourne. Exploring the complex nature of a profession that requires subterfuge and lies fascinates her. She loves combining her two passions into fiction. As evidenced by her Black Cipher Files series.
Taking a break from romantic suspense, Lisa entered the paranormal world of the Angelic Realm. The Seven deals with forbidden relationships between humans and Archangels. At its heart, Rafe is a novel about the dynamic of family relationships. As this series evolves, the core story continues to be about love triumphing in the face of opposition and heartache. (The really hot Archangels don't hurt.)
And recently she's been immersed in the Stone Family novellas, stories about a blended family of brothers and a sister who have a lot more in common than they realize. But of course she couldn't just write about family and romance. There are complex plots, bad guys, and suspense too.
Lisa loves to hear from readers and has various places you can connect with her, although, shh, Twitter is her favorite.

For me worth 3.5 stars It took me a while to get into the story. The run-up to the investigation into the disappeared Brianne took its time when it was already clear that the two main characters were attracted to each other. Once in the story the tension rises quickly, the story held me. Sometimes you saw developments coming, but I thought the effect was nicely structured. I loved Jill's character. A woman who stands up for herself and is not guided by other emotions than sometimes her own insecurities that she tries to hide. A woman who is loyal to the people around her. Excellent, very well written romantic suspense. It has the perfect balance of intensity, action-adventure, mystery and steamy romance. This plot is so gripping, that I couldn’t put this down. Great characters, I really like the development of some trust in one another to build on their instant attraction. Both are independent and intellectual in their individual fields so he needs her just as much as she needs him. Really enjoyed their interactions and their very interesting story. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author.
I really enjoyed this well written, stand-alone story. The characters are great. The enemies to lovers angle was nicely developed. I, along with the female character, Jillian, did not initially like the main male character, Officer Ballard, though, the reader and Jillian eventually warm up to Officer Ballard and find he can actually be quite helpful. The suspense keeps you turning the pages. HEA. Recommend! Definitely reading more by this author. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review
This is the first book that I have read by this author but, it definitely won't be the last. This was a great, fast paced romantic suspense. It had a great plot but, the storyline was character driven. Hamish and Jill were endearing and realistic characters. I also loved many of the quirky and endearing secondary characters. I would love to read Jake's story.I would love to read the next book in this intriguing series and I would definitely recommend it.
