## AWESOME. I loved reading this. Cynthia Eden is an amazing story teller. Her writing style is unique and effective. She has the ability to write these magnificent, fierce alpha male heroes. They are so incredibly hot. Every. Single. One. Chance is no exception. This was a tad short with only 120 pages, therefore I could only rate 4 stars. The rest however was fantastic. Can't wait for the next book.

Received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. 5 out of 5 Stars  What did I like?  This story was suspenseful and the story kept me intrigued. I didn't want the story to end. What did I not like?  Hope Ethan can move on and find love. Daniel was super creepy. Recommendation: Looking forward to more in this series. Hoping to see Will & Faith's story in the future.

I've read several books by Cynthia Eden but I must say this is my favorite so far.  Gwen was easy to like and I respected her individuality.  Chance was a typical alpha male character and I loved him for it.  Together they had great chemistry and the story really moved along.  Although there were a few things I did see coming there were a few twists that I didn't and that makes me like this book even more.  A great introduction to a new series and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Cynthia Eden is one of those writers churning intense, intoxicating, dark and soul consuming stories in her sleep!!!! She never ceases to amaze me with her fascinating paranormal or hot alpha males totally obsessive of their ladies, walking on the wild side. Her new series “Dark Obsession” is a trilogy surrounding three bodyguards and their intense passion and consuming love for their mates. Guarding 24/7 and close proximity only deepens their desire. Watch Me champions the trilogy, with Chance Valentine trying very, very hard to stay away from his obsession Gwen Hawthorne. Working for her Senator Father as security, brought him close to Gwen, and his consuming desire and professionalism takes him away from Gwen before he loses himself in her. But fate is not done taking a chance with Chance, and when Gwen’s life is in danger, he gets hired by the Senator to guard his daughter. A proximity that brings to fore all his love and passion for Gwen and a desire that refuses to bite the dust. As Chance and Gwen ignite their passion for each other and set fire to their love, a killer is lurking in the shadows, threatening Gwen and bringing a past to collide with the present. Cynthia Eden skillfully takes her readers on a seductive and sensual ride into the dark obsession and leaves them panting for more!!! Received an ARC from Hocus Pocus Publishing Inc. via NetGalley for an honest review.

3.75 stars--WATCH ME is the first book in Cynthia Eden’s adult, contemporary Dark Obsession romantic suspense series. This is security expert Chance Valentine and Gwen Hawthorne’s storyline-a second chance at love for two people who have never stopped loving one another. The premise finds Gwen’s wealthy father  (Will Hawthorne) hiring his former bodyguard Chance Valentine, and Chance’s elite security agency VJS Protection to guard and watch over his daughter. VJS Security specializes in high end protection where anonymity and secrecy is guaranteed.  Gwen has a stalker-a former boyfriend who has a history of obsession-and a man who is willing to do anything to protect the woman he had once hoped to marry. But things go from bad to worse when the threats against Gwen become violent and the danger begins to point in another direction. A restraining order does not appear to be working and the danger is coming from an unknown source. The relationship between Chance and Gwen is one of second chances. There is no denying their attraction to one another and, in this, Gwen’s father makes use of Chance’s feelings towards the woman that he has never forgotten. Chance was once employed as Will Hawthorne’s bodyguard and dating the boss’s daughter was completely out of the question.  Gwen tries to keep her distance but circumstances find the couple together 24/7.   The sex scenes are intimate and seductive. The supporting and secondary characters include Chance’s security team partners Lex Jenson and tech expert Devlin Shade; and Detective Faith Chestang who has an unknown but interesting connection to Gwen’s father Will.  We will be introduced to Gwen’s former boyfriend Ethan Barclay and his sometimes bodyguard Daniel Duvato-two men who continue to frighten Gwen with every encounter; and Sophie Sarantos, Ethan’s lawyer and childhood friend whose story will be told in the January 2015 installment WANT ME. The ensemble cast of characters and VJS Security are the building blocks for Cynthia’s Dark Obsession series and sets up the next storyline installment.  WATCH ME is a short story; a romantic, suspense filled, fast paced novella that introduces the partners at VJS Security and the people and friends with whom the agency will come in contact.  The storyline is quick to build; the character history and background information is interspersed throughout the story allowing for a smooth transition between past and present. I wish there was a little more information about the partnership between Chance, Lex and Devlin (VJS Security) but perhaps more information about the connection will be revealed in Lex and Devlin’s storylines.

Dark Obsession: Book 1 This book is the first book in the Dark Obsession series. They are books that are best read in order but they are stand alone books without cliff hangers. Watch Me is about a body guard Chance Valentine and his ex-boss's daughter Gwen Hawthorne. These two have a past and now have a second chance at love but a demented killer has set his sights on Gwen and Chance will dodge all the bullets he has to and give his life to save hers if he must. This is a sexy intense book that reads quickly and the twists and turns of mystery makes it more interesting. Throw in hot alpha men and you have a winner.

Chance Valentine is asked to be a bodyguard to his ex-boss's daughter. When Chance discovers Gwen is in danger he decides to make sure no one hurts her - ever! But they have a past and he's not sure if she will welcome his help. Cynthia Eden has done it again! This book was intense and suspenseful, provocative and captivating. While parts of the story were predictable, the chemistry between the two main characters was sizzling. The villain of course is a demented yet intelligent madman. Personally I prefer paranormal romances but I am excited to continue this series. Cynthia Eden is always a must read author for me!

Historical romance novels were always my favorite. I love everything about them. But then I got into the romantic suspense genre and this book is a perfect example as to why. I think that these might be my new favorite! I've never read anything by Cynthia Eden but I would most assuredly read something by her again. I was kept on my toes the entire time with Watch Me. There were so many twists and turns that it really kept me interested from the beginning all the way to the last page. The characters were really well written and while I wished to know a bit more about Gwen and Chance and their past, I was okay with just the info that I was given. But I wouldn't mind a little novella about these two. I really liked the chemistry between them but it felt like Gwen sometimes let Chance off easy. A bit more ... conflict ... between them would have been nice. The secondary characters were awesome as well and I like how it was setting up the next novel in the series. It really hooked you and made you want to know what was going to happen next. I really don't have much more to say about the book. I think that I'll probably pick up the next in the series because I want to know what is going to happen ... Cynthia Eden left a few things open-ended and I'm wondering if little subplots will open up because of that, I sure hope so!!

In Watch Me (Dark Obsession #1) by Cynthia Eden, Gwen's father just wants to keep his daughter safe.  He wants to protect her to the point of smothering and overprotecting though, and it's something Gwen wants no part of.  When her father finds out someone is watching Gwen, stalking her, he'll do what ever he has to do to keep his daughter safe. Chance has started his own security company, having worked hard to get to where he is today.  When his former boss approaches him about protecting his daughter, Chance can't say no.  She's the one woman he's never been able to forget or get over.  This is his chance to have his second chance with Gwen and to keep her safe.  Chance will do whatever he has to do to keep Gwen safe...even if it means not being completely honest with her. Gwen has her own suspicions and they involve her ex boyfriend.  One who would never be the one because all she could think about was Chance.  Now Chance is suddenly back in her life and he's just as irresistible as ever.  The magnetic pull between them has only gotten stronger.  As Gwen and Chance become close again, so does danger.  Can Chance keep Gwen safe and have a second chance with her?  Or will the dishonesty and danger prove to great a force? Watch Me is a very fast paced romantic suspense where the sizzle between the main characters burns up the pages.  It was very easy to become absorbed in Cynthia's writing as danger lurked.  I really liked the plot twists she threw into Watch Me, ones I did not see coming at all!  This kept me hooked, wanting to see what happened and find out who. The main characters, Gwen and Chance, have been together in the past, so the speed of their relationship was not unexpected or unbelievable.  However, I just could not get a good, detailed feel for these two characters.  Right from the start of Watch Me I felt like I had missed something somewhere, and it took me a while to feel like I'd caught up with what was going on with them, and what had happened with them.  I feel like I would have liked to know so much more about the background of Chance and Gwen to understand them in the present. I did like the way relationships were explored, especially the one between Gwen and her father.  It is a complicated one, and as Watch Me progresses, it is easier to understand why it is this way. I will read Cynthia's next book in this series, and would recommend Watch Me to romantic suspense readers who like to be kept guessing!

Chance Valentine has his own protection security firm. He used to work for William Hawthorne, before starting his own business. When Will calls Chance to provide protection for his daughter, Gwen, Chance cannot refuse. He knows that Gwen hates being under her father's thumb. Therefore, he knows that he can't reveal the truth to Gwen. When Gwen is attacked outside her apartment, she wonders how Chance just happens to be there to save her. Her and Chance share a past. They both have feelings for each other, but neither is willing to admit the full extent of those feelings. Chance does tell Gwen that he cares for her, and was coming to talk when he noticed her attacker. Chance and his colleagues feel that a scorned boyfriend of Gwens is stalking her. Gwen is so scared from the attack, she asks Chance if she can hire him for protection. He agrees immediately, but he's afraid if she learns the truth about who he is really working for she will never trust him. The danger for Gwen continues to mount. The feelings between Chance and Gwen explode. Chance continues to want to reveal the truth to Gwen, but will it be to late to gain her trust? If you are a fan of romantic suspense, you must read this book. Cynthia Eden is one of my favorite authors and I love her romantic suspense books. This one does not fail to entertain the reader until the final page. There will be shocking surprises until the very end. I cannot wait for the next book in this trilogy.
