My 5 year old daughter loves the book. The first time she heard it is was read by Mo W. himself in one of the B&N stores. Now she wants me to read it to her using the same voices he did.

I am a preschool teacher, and I have many of Mo Willems' books in my collection. My dear students often ask to read the stories again, to look at a page of illustrations again, and to discuss what happened and/or re-tell the story again. The stories are so well received because I can read them with flare and make them funny and poignant and give the characters a fine voice and tell a story with a lesson, too - a lesson that is well received because it is not preachy but is realistic and gives way to fine discussions. Blessings will abound as you read the selections - simple phrasing, sweet photos, and room for lots of discussion and acting out as you read. I know you will hear the words "again", too after you have closed the book.

There aren't many easy reader series out there that are as funny as the Elephant and Piggy books. These have very simple illustrations and a lot of very emotional turns of phrase, so hopefully you can start from the beginning keeping kids from developing that awful droning readaloud voice so many children have.Piggie catches a ball and wants to throw it. NATURALLY, Gerald takes everything too seriously, talking about how long it takes to learn to throw a ball. Piggie throws it... AROUND THE WORLD! (Actually, just behind her.)And Gerald learns that the important thing is having fun, the obvious moral.Best moment: Gotta be Piggie's absurd little Super Pig song when she thinks (or pretends) she threw the ball around the world.

My kids (2yrs & 4yrs) both love the Elephant & Piggie books. My 4yr old reads them to his little brother. Pretty soon we'll have them all! I think our favorite is Can I Play Too - they both giggled uncontrollably and wanted to read it over & over the first several nights.

Mo Willems books are excellent for children learning to read. They are fun to read. I became aware if them at B&N storytime when I took my grandson.

This series if books are super cute and funny. As a mother, I enjoy these stories and illustrations. My kids are 6 & 8 and they fight for these books all the time. Highly recommend.

All of the piggie and gerald series are wonderful, creative and amusing. I particularly love the facial expressions. I use these in my lessons to help children learn to read faces and feelings.

Another wonderful, funny story in the Piggy and Gerald saga. My grandbabies love it, my daughter (a pre-school teacher) loves it. An all around hit.

I am a first grade teacher. My students and I love Mo Willems stories and haven't met a Piggie and Elephant book we didn't like. However, "Watch Me Throw the Ball!" is a triumph! Piggie's "can-do" spirit is adorable and inspiring. I hear the six year olds saying to each other "Be like Piggie!" The story is lovely and the students find lots to talk about. There is always a scramble to grab it off the shelf at free time. Thank you Mr. Willems for another terrific tale!
