Field Marshal Arthur Wellesley, the First Duke of Wellington (1769-1852) defeated Napoleon at Waterloo. This volume covers his youthful zeal, years in India and Portugal, political reversals, and final reckoning with Napoleon. It also contains biographical sketches of his lieutenants.
