What the Cat Dragged In by BA Tortuga

A Sanctuary Novel

Don’t people know that cats and dogs don’t mix?

Connor Ragbone finds things. Sometimes it’s gold, sometimes jewels, sometimes people. Set in his hippie ways, he never thought he’d find a pack, but with Sam and Gus and their goofy shifter family, he fits right in. Then he finds Brock.

Shifter Brock Herman is undercover alone, working to break up a poaching ring. The last thing he needs is for Connor to wreck his sting. And now the crazy bobcat just won’t go away!

The poachers lead Brock and Connor on a merry chase all over Western Colorado looking for shifter bears, but it’s a lost pup who brings them back to Nevada and the pack Sam and Gus are building. That’s when Brock has to decide whether he still travels alone or if Connor and his crazy family are where his heart belongs.

This follow-up to Just Like Cats and Dogs is a feel-good shifter romance novel where cats and dogs prove they can be way more than the enemies nature has made them.

Independent reviewer for Divine Magazine, I was gifted my copy of the book. Connor finds things. He finds Brock. Brock wasn't aware he was lost, he is just undercover, trying to catch the poachers from getting anymore bears. But the more time Brock spends with Connor, the more he realises, that maybe, just maybe, he really DID need finding and bringing home, to Connor. Book two in the Sanctuary series, but you don't need to have read book one, Just Like Cats and Dogs, for this one to make sense. While Sam and Gus play a part here, you don't need their story to enjoy Connor and Brock's story. I have though and I find myself comparing the two. Because I had *issues* with book one. But here?? NONE!! No issues, not complaints not a single thing can I fault this book for!! I LOVED this one!! Connor's mind takes some following, though. He flits around like a bee on flowers, and his thoughts go off at random tangents and it does take some getting used to. Once I got my head round Connor, as best I could, I loved how that flitting around went! I loved the silly names that Connor, a bob-tailed cat, and Brock, a wolf, have for each other, Kitty, Fuzzy and the like. LOVED that the mating connection for their minds wasn't immediately obvious. Because Connor could read Brock's mind WAY before he realised that was what he was doing! Sam and Gus play a part, when Connor takes Brock home, and we catch up with all those who are there at the Sanctuary, and there are some new additions, but I'll not say who or what, that's part of the plot line and would be spoilers. I have NO idea who is next, but whoever it is, I wanna read more of this series, and indeed, more of Tortuga. They are growing on me! Five full and shiney stars! **same worded review will appear elsewhere**
