Wildfire at Dawn by M. L. Buchman

-a Firehawks Smokejumpers romance-

Johnny Akbar Jepps, lead smokejumper for Mount Hood Aviation, is always first out of the plane, first into the fire, and first with the ladies. But the one thing he never puts on the line? His heart. Until he meets a woman who gallops away with it.

Laura Jenson, wilderness guide and expert horsewoman, leads tourists from the Mount Hood Timberline Lodge into the wilds of Oregon. She knows the game and has no interest in some lady-killing, full-of-himself smokejumper. Not until Johnny lights her heart on fire.

They both risk everything without getting burned in the Wildfire at Dawn.

I enjoyed this book as much as all of the others by M.L. Buchman that I have read. My complaint, that this story was way too short, is because I enjoy his books a lot.

Love the author's series but this one was a disappointment. I did not sense a connection between Laura and Johnny and 'Akbar the Great' was way over used. The plot could have been really developed if it had more than 128 pages. Will continue to read because the surrounding charactures are great.

Great read, very exciting new series. Another one coming out in a couple months, labeled #2 in the series. This one was a lot shorter. Should have indicated it was a novella, but still a great read. Love the characters.
