Overview

Without Me (Men of Inked Series #5) by Chelle Bliss

I’d led a selfish existence.

I liked who I was. Hell, I loved myself.

Women threw themselves at me and I took what they offered without remorse. I promised them nothing. I sank my teeth into life, holding on to the bitch like my very existence depended on it.

Time passed.

Women came and went.

The second I let my guard down and released the hold I had on life… What was my award for such carelessness?

A love so spectacular and heart wrenching that it threw me for a loop. When I was in too deep to escape, my greatest fears became reality.

This is my story.

My downfall.

My salvation.

IT WAS SOOOO NICE, I READ IT TWICE!!!!!! "Without Me" is Chelle Bliss' final book in the Men of Inked Series. In the seventh installment, we meet Anthony Gallo, the oldest sibling of the Gallo family. What we already know of him, is that he's the single, sarcastic, s*** talking sidekick of Izzy in the shop and at Sunday dinners. He wants absolutely nothing to do with relationships, and prides himself on the music he makes and the insurmountable amount of women that fall in his lap. Then he meets Maxine (Max), and his world is tuned upside down. Max seems the be the female equivalent of Anthony, in the fact that she refuses, any kind of relationship, and this fuels Anthony, as he is determined to be with the woman that he loves. STORYLINE - 5 BOOKS I loved this story. I loved it so much, I read it twice. First of all, it had me at Rudy Huxtable...LOL! I knew one of the Gallo boys would be down with the swirl...LOL! All jokes aside, it is really an amazing story. I laughed. I cried. I swooned. (well, nearly) "Without Me" is hilarious, erotic, and heart warming. CHARACTERS - 5 HEARTS Anthony Gallo, the man, the myth, and the MOUTH! OH THAT MOUTH. (You'll have to wait to wait until the section for me to elaborate on that! As cocky as Anthony is, he wears his heart on sleeve. Who doesn't LOVE, a character, or real person who does that. Anthony has just the right amount of arrogance and heart. Oh, I just love him. Maxine, is a tough cookie, sharp as tack, and quick witted. As much as Anthony dealt it out, she would not only match his hand, but would knock down his house of cards. I love that she is not weak or vulnerable. She's strong, but maybe a little too strong for own good. When it's revealed why and how she's come to be this why, she gets a pass....LOL! I love how her character is portrayed, because it reminds me of myself a little. We can all be strong, but scared of the unknown. What is there not LOVE about the Gallos? They have they hilarious, relatable, and each character/sibling's personality is portrayed exactly the same as they are in their respective books. We get to meet Ruth, Max's mother, who is very hands on with Anthony, and Uncle Earl who is clearly an "butt man". I enjoyed these characters, because they remind me so much of my family. Their antics and their banter were so relatable and enjoyable. SCENES OF INTIMACY - 5 DRIPPIN' WET PANTIES OMG! Anthony, so cocksure, literally and figuratively... LOL! And a mouth of the Gods... OH THAT MOUTH. He used it well. Between the slick talking banter, the melodic serenade, and the toe curling multiple O's served by that MOUTH, Anthony's mouth is a character in itself...LOL! The scenes were hot. Some of my favorites ever. My favorite in the book, would have to be the scene in "The Confrontation". After that chapter, he damn near, had me saying, "It's yours." LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!

Tears! Chelle, you brought me to TEARS!!!! God, I loved this book. It is by far the best in the series, but I suspected it would be since I've always had a soft spot for Anthony. I knew he would be knocked down when love finally came his way. Chelle did not disappoint.  Without Me is a raw, deeply moving and heart wrenching account of a love so deep it inspires you. Anthony's story is as tumultuous as I'd envisioned. Despite all the obstacles Without Me is a beautiful story. As with all the Men of Inked books, this one felt familiar, like you were experiencing everything through the eyes of friends or family. There's something about Chelle's writing that makes you feel so connected to these characters and their stories. Without Me gutted me at times. I was so invested in this story and the outcome I read it in one sitting... COULD NOT put it down! The story is told in dual POV which I absolutely loved. Chelle nailed both characters. Before the release of Without Me I had my suspicions about Anthony's love interest and I nailed a few things which made me happy, other things were unexpected curve balls that just made this story come to life for me.  I found it incredibly difficult to write this review because as much as I adore this book I don't want to spoil one moment for you when you pick up a copy. The synopsis is vague enough that I feel I should leave the love interest out of my review. I think experiencing what Anthony does as it happens is the best way to read this book. I swear I never thought I'd see the day where Anthony Gallo would be knocked out by love. To say he was persistent when it came to this story is an understatement. You will see a kinder, softer, more caring side of him,  but you will also see an angry, dark side one that is at times overcome by the emotions sizzling between the two. You'll experience both their feelings and desires. I think I connected with this book on so many different level.  Chelle never failed to bring the heat we've grown to love and swoon over from the Gallo clan. When I wasn't going through emotional turmoil, I was fanning myself and attempting to stop my kindle from bursting into flames....man oh man was this book HOT!  Warning, this book may cause tears...big fat ugly ones, or maybe just a few, but it will get to you. You know that  one stray tear that falls down your cheek as you read a story so beautiful you can't help but feel for the characters...even as you try to avoid it, it happens. One teardrop that you quickly swipe away and continue reading only to get hit again and again by all the emotional ferocity and fire that is Chelle Bliss...yeah, it just might happen.  This story hit me hard because of the content and I know if you have experienced similar things as Anthony or the other characters you'll understand that this was an emotional journey for not only the reader, but also Chelle. I urge you to read the Letter to Readers at the end so you understand just how personal this story is. It was beautiful. I loved every minute of it and I'm glad that although this is the end of the Men of Inked series, we won't be seeing the last of the Gallos. A definite must-read for Erotic Romance/Contemporary Romance readers.

Oh, Anthony!! Chelle Bliss has outdone herself with a most fitting and wonderful last chapter to the Gallo family.  As an avid reader of Chelle's novels, I have been invested in the Gallo's since their inception.  First I loved Joe, then I waited for Thomas and waited for Thomas. I though no man could be more hot or more Alpha than Thomas, though Mike gave a gallant effort.  Then? Then I met Anthony. Ho-ly cow.  Not only does Anthony walk tall and carry a big stick (wink wink), but the reader gets to go on his journey of self-discovery and watch as he matures into a real man.  A man you would really want by your side. One you can count on. You just know he will be IN LOVE with Max for the rest of their lives.   In my opinion, this is the best of the best of the Gallos. You can feel Chelle's love for her boys, and Izzy- the little minx, more in this book than in her others in the series. That's saying a lot because all her books are full of her soul. You really can feel how she has put her heart on the line for this family and, in my opinion, her heart should be full now because she knocked this one out of the park.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next. It's gonna be a hell of a ride. Thank you, Chelle, you have enriched the lives of all your lives with this family, not the least of which is mine. -Jennifer-

When faced with a challenge, Anthony goes all in. What if his all is not enough to overcome the secret conscience of Max? Anthony story grew on me as I dove deeper into the pages. It was his strength, love, and devotion that finally won me over and had me cheering for his HEA. With the Gallos' it's always about family whether it's their immediate or extended so that is what makes his and Max story that much powerful. Support, understanding, and seeing beyond the initial vision. Thank you Chelle for allowing us into the lives and home of this Italian clan.

Chelle Bliss did not dissappoint with the last Gallo. Anthony & Max's love story is beautiful. When Anthony's heart finally fell in love, it's amazing how hard he decides to fight in hopes of making Max his. Of course, the continued Gallo Family presence throught the series is the BEST!

I just finished all seven books to this series. I fell in love with the Gallo's family from the very beginning and could not put these books down. I literally did not get anything else done and it saddens me that i have finished the last book. There is supposed to be more to come with the Men of Inked in 2016 and i cannot wait. I have a feeling that whatever books this author writes is goin to be awesome. Chere Bliss puts the right amount of everything that reader wants in each of her books. If your looking for a good series to settle into than i highly recommend this one!!!!!!

As another reviewer pointed out, Anthony's ego was very annoying and Max's character lacked depth. The couple spoke superficial words without emotion attached. For such a "player", Anthony sure did a 360 turn on the first night! Just not believable..... no more for me!

[sigh] Anthony! Oh boy, I've  been waiting for Anthony's story, and I was not left disappointed. He was the perfect alpha. Hot and bossy was who he was, Max sure did give him a run for his money!!  She was just as bossy as he was. She didn’t take his crap, I loved that she kept him in check. Chelle sure does know how to keep you sucked in to her books, from page one, you’re hooked. It was very bittersweet reading this book, the last of the Gallos. I know we’re going to be seeing pieces of them in ALFA, which makes me a happy reader. If you love hot, sexy, bossy alphas, Anthony will give you that!!! Great job Chelle, as always there weren’t enough pages in the book, you did an amazing job!!!

This book was lacking so much. The men of inked series is my favorite. I wish I never read this book in it. After waiting to read about Anthony I'm left with disappointment. Max is rude and a horrible person. No matter what she as been through there was no excuse for her actions. I imagined better for Anthony. How sad! Ended the series on a low note.......I wish Anthony's story could be retold with a good female character!
