Overview

Wolf Bond (Lyric Hounds, #2) by Mina Carter

He’s the man of her dreams… her nightmares that is.

A car crash left her with nightmares… of a life she never had and a man that’s not hers… and werewolf Saxon Reeves can’t shake them. She dies, even though a human soldier tries to save her, night after night. A human soldier she can’t get out of her head.

When her family pushes her to mate with a wolf from a neighboring pack, she decides to take one night, just for herself, and contacts an exclusive dating service. The last thing she expects when she walks through the door is to come face to face with her the man from her dream… Her hot, sexy soldier.

He lost the love of his life in blood and sand…

Former spec-ops soldier Barrett Simmons, head of security for the world famous rock band Lyric Hounds, is sick of the band’s less-than-subtle matchmaking attempts. Since the woman he loved was killed in action, his heart has been as dry and dusty as the sands she fell on, and he doesn’t have anything to offer a woman other than the shell of the man he once was.

Railroaded by his sister into a blind date, he’s trying to think of an excuse to get out of it when his date arrives. Small, curvy and a werewolf, she’s a ghost from his past and knocks him off his feet. His lover, back from the dead, or is she?

Death couldn’t keep them apart… but family lies, pack honor and a challenge to the death could end their happily ever after before it’s begun…

I had a smile and that's what counts. Was it her best? Probably not. Did it suck? Heck no. Would I like a side order of Barr? Heck ya!

I found Wolf Bond to be the perfect book to satisfy a paranormal itch. This quick read is has equal amount of action, romance and the best part, there is plenty of steam. Barrett is the perfect alpha male - hot yummy take-charge kind of guy. Saxon (which is the coolest name!) is at the same time strong willed and feminine. The story starts off from the beginning riveting and keeps the reader entertained until the very end. While I would love to see this story fleshed out to be a longer read, there was enough details provided to keep me interested. I do have to admit, I reading this book without having read its sequel. Despite not having read the previous book, I found this book worked well as a stand-alone. Excellent read if you’re looking for a quick getaway. I received this book from JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated. Stars – 3.5 Flames - 3

Barrett (Barr) Simmons lost his lady love in a war zone two years ago and still mourns her. Barr is happy for his sister Melody and would like her happiness for himself. Melody hands cream envelope to Barr and says "chance meeting" to him. Meanwhile Saxon (Sax) dreams the same nightmare for the last two years of her life every night. Sax believes her parents about what these dreams mean since becoming a wolf. Sax also using Madame Eve's service and hopes for something more like her dream man. Barr is stunned into silence at the appearance of his Sax after all of this time. Barr demands an explanation from Sax about what happened to her. Sax is just as equally surprised by seeing her dream man in the flesh. Sax's world starts to crumble because of her parent's lies. Barr and Sax piece together the truth. What is next for Barr and Sax? Will Sax confront her parents? How will Barr thank Melody? Your answers await in Wolf Bond. Again this surprisingly sweet and quick read. I felt Barr's heartache at losing Sax. Sax is trying to remember her life from before her accident. Both of these character need someone take care of them. I'm impressed with this book and it's previous one were well written with well developed characters too. I'm definitely looking forward to next installment.
