While he isn’t heathen nor asatru, he does work with those deities. He says that the northern tradition shamanism is a spirit taught practice. He has many views on things which seem restrictive, which is okay because that’s how the gods choose it to be for his particular experience. He also talks about shamanism and how you have to be chosen to he a shaman or spirit worker, otherwise you’re merely a spirit or shaman practitioner that has not been chosen by the gods but may still choose to practice with them without the restrictions of a more classic shaman, as he puts it. While I feel his information is true and does happen, it depends on the person and how the gods choose to interact with you and how to treat you. Not everyone’s experience is the same, as he also says. This book has a series of experiences of him and others who are either in his tradition or of another but similar to. It is a book that talks about the practices of his tradition. While it is restrictive, there is much to be learned here. Especially the things concerning the conversations with wights and gods. He claims to be a servant of Hella but also is able to commune with other wights of other traditions with just as well other deities. In conclusion, this book is valuable if you are interested in the knowledge provided here. Again, this is a very restrictive tradition. I think a lot of people take for granted that they don’t have to believe everything in books. This book has provided me with a knowledge about things more clearly and I recommend it, especially to those who are non reconstructionist heathen.
