Book three was enjoyable. I initially didn't like the concept, it came across a bit cliched in the sense of trap them in a room, make a bargain of if they sleep together then the other will do X, and rush right into it. The initial build up was slow but once they are in the Hoard and start to interact the story and plot line does become more enjoyable. I liked Acion and Thalina, and once she defends him against her father and they escape their romance becomes quite touching. Once on Cumae, when Acion goes off to give his report to the Hive and Thalina goes to his rescue, that was I think my favorite part. It was touching and passionate. It was a quick read and I liked how it unfolded overall.

This was a well-written, entertaining book. Princess Thalina discovers Acion, a traveler from another planet, trying enter the castle. She knows there is more to him than what is on the surface, and purposely lets him abduct her. She is shocked to realize he is her destined mate. I really enjoyed reading about their building relationship and the adventures they experienced.

WYVERN’S WARRIOR is the third full length installment in Deborah Cooke’s DRAGONS OF INCENDIUM paranormal, sci-fi romance series focusing on the twelve royal princesses of Incendium. This is princess Thalina, and Acion’s story line. WYVERN’S WARRIOR can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order as the author adds a short story between each installment revealing some background information about the preceding story. SOME BACKGROUND: For fans of Cooke’s previous series about dragons, THE DRAGONS OF INCENDIUM is NOT connected to, or a spinoff from, her best selling Dragonfire series. The current series focuses on female dragon shifters of Incendium searching for their ‘HeartKeeper’-their mate- and the ‘Carrier of the Seed’. Told from several third person perspectives including Thalina and Acion, WYVERN’S WARRIOR follows princess Thalina as she believes she has found the ‘Carrier of the Seed’. When an unknown and unwelcome visitor arrives on the planet Incendium Thalina knows immediately he is the ‘Carrier of the Seed.’ But something is different about Acion, and if her suspicions are true, Acion will become the victim of an ancient law that will destroy the man with whom she is falling in love. What ensues is a the building relationship between Acion and Thalina; Acion’s ascension into cognition and his humanity; and the struggle to stay one step ahead of two colliding forces determined to destroy Acion and everything he represents. WYVERN’S WARRIOR is a story of determination and love; specieism and a millennia’s old law that warrants a look into the possibility of change; of heartbreak, falling in love, and finding one’s ‘HeartKeeper’. The premise is entertaining; the romance is sexy and imaginative; the characters are fated and animated. WYVERN’S WARRIOR is a story of action, adventure, and romance where two individuals find one another against the odds.

This is the tale of Princess Thalina, one of the 12 dragon princesses of Incendium, and the only princess with an appreciation for automatons. When she finds herself attracted to Acion, an android who is discovered breaking into the royal palace, she engineers a plot to sequester herself undisturbed with him for a day & a night to study his construction. When she realizes he is the Keeper of the Seed, it defies all logic, as he is not a biological being. As their relationship grows more intense, Thalina realizes she must do all that she can to keep Acion from being destroyed under the rules of Scintillon's law, which prohibits androids on Incendium. This book is so well written, especially in the speech and thoughts of Acion, giving him a "voice" which, though tinged with the flavor of an android, also reflects his innocence as he confronts his enhancements. Best line in the book, for me, is, "He sprinted for the door, but his reaction was too late and too slow, despite both being highly improbable individually and infinitely less so in combination." Amazing! Anxiously awaiting the next book. Though each story is a stand alone, they will be even more enjoyable when read as a continuing series. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.
