Book 2 Yellowstone Romance Series

City boy Chase Russell is on the fast track to self-destruction. A star athlete, he gets into trouble with drugs and alcohol. Fulfilling a community service sentence in Yellowstone National Park is the last thing he wants to do. After a night of drinking in the park, he wakes up to find his new friends gone, and everything around him has changed.

Sarah Osborne grew up in the rugged Yellowstone wilderness. She can hunt and track right alongside the most experienced men. When some Indians drop a near-dead man off on her doorstep, she doesn't know what to think. He's convinced he's from the future, and wants to find a way home.

Chase has no idea how he ended up time traveling to the past. He doesn't know the first thing about surviving without modern conveniences. Finding your own food means a quick trip to the nearest fast food joint, not hunting and foraging for it. Time and again, his will is tested to stay alive in this untamed land. Is his growing love for a brave woman who shows him what it truly means to be a man strong enough to keep him in the past, or is he still determined to return to the ease and comforts of the future?

About the Author

I never thought I'd be a writer, much less publish a book. I always wanted to be a veterinarian. I guess life just had other plans for me. When my husband and I decided to start a family, vet school pretty much went out the window. I used to work with a vet who had three children while going through vet school. To this day, she is my hero.

Two years ago, I began writing a story that, for whatever reason, was stuck in my head for almost a year. I have been an avid romance reader for a long time, and the idea took hold to - why not? - write my own!
It has been a long and difficult journey from my first sentence to a completed, and hopefully polished, manuscript. Yellowstone Heart Song was a finalist in the RWA San Diego Chapter 2011 Spring into Romance contest.

The story, titled Yellowstone Heart Song, is set in the Rocky Mountain region which today encompasses Yellowstone National Park. It takes place decades before the area was even known to white men, a time just after Lewis and Clark, before the mountain man era was in full swing.

The story has turned into, what I'm calling the Yellowstone Romance Series. I have finished book 2, titled Yellowstone Redemption, which will release soon after Book 1. The third, titled Yellowstone Awakening, is in its final stages of completion, and I have begun my newest title, Yellowstone Dawn.

Ms Henderson has done it again. Yellowstone Redemption is filled with edge-of-the-seat adventure. The tension between the main characters is strung tighter than a piano string. Caught up in the story and passion of Sarah and Chase, I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see if Chase would return to his home or if he would realize that he was meant to stay in the past with Sarah. During one particular scene, I remember shouting, "Nooooooo," as I came to the end of the chapter. Ms Henderson was faithful in providing a happy ending, but what a ride it was to get there. And with all good, thrill pumping rides, I went right back to the beginning and started the adventure again. I am anxious to see what's next from this author.

I enjoyed this story about Chase and Sarah. Sarah is exactly the daughter that I would expect Amiee and Daniel having. She was so entertaining. Chase surprised me. I was expecting a jerk but what I found was a hurting boy who didn't see his victories only his failures. He was a breath of fresh air. I enjoyed watching him find his way.

Yellowstone Romance Series by Peggy L. Henderson I love the way Peggy L. Henderson describes her characters and their interactions as well as the scenery in such vivid detail. I could hardly wait to read all the stories in the Yellowstone Romance Series. It took me two days but I set aside time and read them all. I recommend reading in order as prescribed below as the series does build on previous books: Prologue to Yellowstone Heart Song (located free at author's website) Yellowstone Heart Song #1 1/16/2012 Yellowstone Redemption #2 2/3/2012 Yellowstone Awakening #3 2/29/2012 Yellowstone Dawn #4 4/15/2012 Yellowstone Deception #5 7/17/2012 A Yellowstone Christmas (novella) #6 11/18/2012 A Yellowstone Promise (novella) #7 7/21/2014 A Yellowstone Season of Giving #8 11/19/2014 I highly recommend this author as one of the best writers of romantic western history and time travel. I am currently starting on the next two sets of her books the Teton Romance Trilogy and Second Chances Time Travel Romance series. I have read other recommendations that these stories are just as good and some even better than the ones above (will let you know my opinion at a later date).

This is book 2 of the series. I purchased the entire lot a few months ago but did not have the time to read the books until this weekend. What's great about this series is that each one can be read on its own though, of course, it is much better when you read from the beginning as it gives you a better understanding of this family's story. In the beginning I felt a little sad and nostalgic about Daniel and Amy (the protagonists of the previous book) but liked that this one is about the next generation. Namely, their daughter Sarah. The last couple of chapters were heartwrenching only to realize (too late) that, of course there would be a happy ending! (YAY!) Thank you for an entertaining read, Peggy.

Book two is just as good as book one. I loved the continuation of the story from book one, just one generation later. Will there be a book three in the Yellowstone series?

Just as good as the first book. Yeah Chase was kind of an ass at times but we have to take into consideration the type of man he is, the time he comes from and the people he was used to dealing with. While he wasn't equipped with dealing with the past, I think he did have many skills from the future that helped him survive. It was great seeing Daniel and Aimed again and getting to know their amazing daughter, Sarah. Very nicely paced, lots of adventure, definitely a page turner and more interaction from the other Indian tribes...even the Blackfoot.... SR

Reviewed by Sarah L. Book provided by the author for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Yellowstone Redemption is the second book in the Yellowstone Romance Series by Peggy Henderson. While it can certainly be read independently on its own, I highly recommend reading the first book Yellowstone Heart Song which is the story of Sarah’s parents, Aimee and Dan. It was great to revisit with old friends again. After a night of partying Chase wakes up 200 years in the past, nearly frozen to death. A band of warriors drop him off at the Osborne cabin however Aimee is away from home so Sarah is left to nurse him back to health. Neither of them planned to fall in love in the process. Initially Chase seemed a bit naïve and spoiled, too used to thinking of his own pleasures but soon learned in the wilderness in order to survive he needed to grow up and become a man. The way the Blackfoot Indians tested him after he was captured I feel really made this hit home to Chase and he was able to prove (although not yet to himself) that he was well on his way to becoming a strong, noble man capable of providing for himself and any family he may have down the road. My one confusion with the story was the importance placed on Chase’s drug and alcohol addiction because despite the references throughout to the addiction, it really didn’t play much of an important role. It wasn’t until much later in the story when we actually witness how the addiction and demons Chase has had to overcome play a more important role in the relationship between him and Sarah. Overall, I really enjoyed this second edition to the Yellowstone Romance Series and can’t wait to read the third book.

Time travel, great characters, and a delightful historical setting, all made this book one that I could not put down. Then when the end of the book came, I didn't want it to end. What a wonderful escape from this world!
