Overview

Ynyr (Tornians, #4) by M.K. Eidem

Ynyr was a third male, and while he was a fit and worthy warrior, he had always known that no female would ever Join with him. Too many looked down on his family because of his mother’s refusal to leave his manno. He knew Ull would be able to overcome this because he was a first male and would one day be a Lord. Maybe even Vali, since he was a second male but neither Ynyr nor his younger brother Zev would ever be acceptable to a female. The most they could hope for was to serve their House with honor but that all changed with the arrival of the females from Earth.

Abby's life had not been an easy one, especially after the death of her family when she was sixteen, but she had thought things were finally looking up. She was a year away from achieving her dream of becoming a teacher. Soon she would be making a difference in the lives of children others had given up on. That all changed when she was abducted by the Tornians.

Ynyr and Abby came together in the most unusual of ways, but that was just the beginning of their unique relationship. Together they had to do something no other Lord and Lady had to do. They had to take a House that had been destroyed by deceit and evil and turn it back into the worthy and respected House that it had once been.

Will the secrets left behind by Bertos and Risa tear them apart? Or will it be Abby's secret and Ynyr's reaction to it that does?

I loved Abby and Ynyr's story. I am on a tight book budget and I am so glad I purchased this book. Ynyr was a male of great tenderness and honor. Abby was strong, kind and gentle. It has that great mix of heat and sweet I like so much in my books. While the grammer and editing are MUCH MUCH better in this book than in the books before it, the problems with the grammer and editing are what keep me from being able to give it the full 5 stars. I have enjoyed every book in this series so much, the next one will be a pre-order book for me. I can't wait!

Overall Rating:  4.25 Rockin Stars Faraway, far, far away in the Tornian world created by author M.K. Eidem, the third book in this Science Fiction series takes place.  In this world, where betrayal and deceit almost destroyed the Empire a new hope has arisen.  The Tornian world is changing, the inhabitants are overcoming their preconceived ideas and new leadership is being put in place.  This author uses this upheaval to dazzle her readers with out of this world stories and heroic characters. She has intertwined all these elements and created an outstanding read with Ynyr.  I found this story both intriguing and enjoyable. From Earth, to Torino, to Etruria, leaves Abigail Jamison feeling she has endured enough.  She is beyond ready for her life to settle down.  Especially, now that she has found her male, Ynyr the third son of Oryon and Isis.  They found each other when Ynyr heard someone crying through the hedge in a garden and tried to give her comfort.   They grew close from hours of talking and sharing about themselves, without ever seeing one another.  Ynyr believed his life was set as a third son to be a warrior, but when the Emperor named him Lord of Etruria everything changed.  Before there was no hope of having a female Join with him, but now it would be possible.  When the female he had never seen but couldn't stop thinking of chose him as her male, once again his life changed even more. During the story, the couple unites with the help and encouragement of a house in uproar.  With the help of the goddess they learn what it takes to lead their people and uncover secrets that were buried deep.  The constant upheaval created an uneasiness and drama that kept you guessing at the outcome.  This is another terrific book to enhance my library.  When asked for a sci-fi romance series recommendation, this is one of my go to authors.  You really should read and find out about this unique world that M. K. Eidem has created.

A really good book. The only gripe I have with it is that the characters were all soooo perfect. It's not only this author that does it either, I just get frustrated when characters seem to know exactly what to say and they say it so eloquently. Really? I always think back to things that I should have said after the confrontation. ............................................................................................................

This book is a good addition to the series. I enjoyed seeing the hero step into his role as a lord while making a relationship with his lady. I'm not sure it stands alone--the story does, but many of the background details come from the other books.

Reviewed by Suzanne and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog Ynry has unexpectedly been thrust in to a position of power, with his beloved new female, Abby at his side. But becoming a new Lord on a dangerous planet and seeing to the perplexing needs of an Earth female is full of different pitfalls he never saw coming. I have fallen in love with this series, in general I love any kind of sci-fi series especially when it involves disgustingly gorgeous aliens and a little bit of abduction, which is exactly what M.K. Eidem has given us. I am not sure what it is about this particular series that has created a bit of an obsession with it, it could by the absurdly sweet heroes who make me sigh equally with lust and adoration or the feisty heroines who have the sense to know when they have a good thing. Whatever it is, I have devoured each book with utter delight and an eagerness for more. Ynyr and Abby were a sweet couple, although their story bared a remarkable similarity to Grim I didn’t mind too much; I happened to love Grim. And although there was lots of sword waving and aliens about, essentially this was a very cute love story between Ynyr, who as a third son didn’t expect much and shy Abby, who had been on her own and abandoned for a long time. I admit, although there may not have been too much originality in this story, that didn’t stop me from enjoying it and I have no doubt that I will be snatching up what ever book M.K. Eidem brings out next.
