HIghly Recommended - Not Your Normal Business Success Book...Its Better!

Mr. Smiley does an excellent job of taking us into his world and reliving 20 of the most significant points in his life that on the surface first appear as "failures", but when closely examined laid the foundation for the successful media celebrity and businessman that he is today.

At first glance, I found this book to have a rather simple appearance. But when taking a closer look, the many pieces of the book's design make it not so simple afterall. It has an engaging jacket cover. Upward arrow icons are carefully placed throughout the book. The page colorations give the reader a feeling of subtle sophistication.

When I started reading the text, what seemed like simple stories of the author's challenges in life turned out to also be quiet complex. Mr. Smiley does a great job of mixing his life stories with those of "average joes" and then again through current events to show how those same lessons are playing out in our society at large. And to top it all off, he presented clear concise data that show he has spent some time researching his topic to add additional credibility of his conclusions to the reader.

I highly recommend this book. It's a quick read and the material keeps your attention, is thought provoking, and inspiring. The language used in the book is conversational, deeply honest, and professional. There are even parts that make you laugh along the way.

And if you've never read anything by this author before, this a great place to start.

    Timeless, thank you Tavis

Your book is great. It have help me to retrace the steps of my life and see where I though I had failed God stepped in a did for me what I could not do for myself. Your book also allowed to look at what I saw as failure as " teachable moment"straight from the hand of God. I no longer have fear of a failing but a desire to move on when life hicups or decides to save me from no unguided desires. I am now a student of your timeless wisdom. Thank you for being open enough to share, gracious enough write and noble enough to hold the line. You are truly a Jewel of the human family.

    Good Reminders

I just finished reading Mr. Smiley's latest written contribution to the universe and found it to be full of good sound advice. In this hurried environment where many of us unconsciously lose our inherent sense of decency and forget how to engage our true selves, Tavis helps us to get back there by reminding us that we are all batters in life's game of baseball. Occasionally we hit the ball out of the park, but more often a curve ball appears out of nowhere, knocks us the heck out, and teaches a grand lesson in the process.

There were many pertinent lessons shared in the book, but the overarching idea Tavis relayed best and the one that was interwoven throughout all the chapters is that we have to be perpetually alert and in tune with our spirit in order to take advantage of life's missteps and its blessed opportunities. Great job, Tavis.
