Jane Green is a women's fiction author that I have loved for a long time, so when I found out she was coming out with a cookbook I was definitely intrigued! When I received the pitch to get a review copy, I couldn't wait to see what kind of recipes Jane had included. This cookbook is not for the new chef in the kitchen. Her recipes aren't extremely complicated, but definitely not for the faint of heart - like me! I am not the cook in our home, so I enjoyed reading it and may have pointed a few out to my husband, but I am not sure I could tackle some of them. I did like that her cookbook was centered around entertaining. I enjoyed that they were meals that were best shared with a home full of people. I like this cookbook, but it won't be one that stays in my kitchen year round. I would bring this one out if we were having a group over and needed some inspiration.

I am not a fan of “celebrity” cookbooks as I find they usually call for ingredients that are not easily found or affordable for the “normal” person yet with Jane Green’s Good Taste Cookbook I found myself wanting and being able to cook every recipe. My family, especially my children, are very picky and there were so many recipes that they enjoyed or would enjoy when I finally tried them out. While checking out the recipes I felt like I was getting a glimpse into Jane Green’s life. The stories between the recipes shared the why’s of the recipes. The reasoning behind why she is sharing the recipes that she is. The step by step directions showed how meticulous she is. They were easy to follow and made total sense. Even the non-cooker/baker will find recipes in this book that will temp them to try their hand at a new meal idea. This book is perfect for the experienced chef/baker or the stay at home cooking for the family cook. Check out Good Taste. There is a recipe in here for everyone.
