8 Short YA Books to Read During Your NaNoWriMo Breaks
Happy National Novel Writing Month! Stop your furious scribbling for just a second, and let’s talk about an important component of NaNoWriMo success: brain breaks. A big part of writing is reading, and a big part of completing 50,000 words in a month is periodic recharging.
A solid reading list will give you inspiration when you hit a sticking point in your novel, and taking periodic reading breaks will keep you from burning out before Chapter 3. You may not have time to read that door-stopper fantasy series starter that’s sitting in your to-read pile, of course, so we’ve curated some shorter novels (all around or under 200 pages) to keep you sharp without breaking your momentum.
