Overview

A Perfect Fit (A DiCarlos Brides novel, book 1) by Heather Tullis

Cami DiCarlo doesn't agree with her father that her life has been stuck in a rut, so she is not happy when he forces her hand into heading up guest services at his newest five-star hotel. The fact that he unveils the existence of four half-sisters at the same time, and insists that they live together while they launch the new resort, only makes things worse.

When she meets Vince Talmadge, the sweet, sexy landscaper her father would never have approved of, Cami can't say no. If only she could be sure she is on the right track-and that they will be able to stop the person who is trying to destroy everything she and her sisters are working to build.

Thank goodness the author provided a list of characters in the beginning, because while this first book focuses on Cami and Vince's relationship, there are so many other characters involved it tends to get a bit confusing. The good thing about this book and all its characters is that it provides a decent amount of background information on each potential couple/person so we'll know what things to expect in that couple's/person's story. While I personally enjoy my books steamy and this book was strictly PG13, it was a very enjoyable read. It was a nice blend of characters. A little mystery and some action thrown in as well. Story line was creative and thought out. There were a few grammatical errors, missing words and punctuation marks and that really distracts the reader from the story. SR

Gosh do typos ruin books for me. I understand the book is free but if i were a writer even if i were putting out a free book i would still make sure it was it was as free from typos and gramatical errors as possible. Not one in every chapter. The story also bugged me because there wasnt really apoint where the two main charactors have a real issue in their relationship that either will make or break them its just happy all the time. It was well written, in that the story flowedreally well. There was no mention of sex at all for people who like or dislike those kind of romace books. I dont know of i would read the other books in the series. It might be really interesting to read a couple of the other sisters books just to see if there are fireworks from all the attitude being thrown off between them and the impending husbands...

I sort of struggled with this book and I couldn’t decide at first why it was I didn’t immediately like it. I could have been that the story is about one couple, but ALL the sisters are involved in this book as the set up to the series begins. The names of the girls were all about flowers but I couldn’t really remember what each girl was supposed to be in charge of in the running of the Hotel their father forced them into working in. They are all sisters, but only 2 share the same mother and the other 3 have different mothers. They struggle to come to terms with their relationships as sisters, and their feelings for their cheating father. And though I did like that part of the story where I could see the inner turmoil and how they interacted with each other and eventually learned to get along. It was still difficult to grasp the love story I wanted to read about because of all the extra family involved in the plot.  I totally guessed the “bad guys”. One right from the start and the other pretty quickly afterward so it was kind of predictable, but there were still fun twists and surprises I didn’t see at first. The whole issue the “Bad guy” had was a little cheesy and overblown, but desperate people do desperate things. The love story should have had me riveted, but it kinda happened really fast, then they started sleeping together (though nothing is given in detail so it could still be considered basically a clean romance) and I was really annoyed. Their kissing started to get boring for me since there was no “sexual tension” because they were already a couple, just afraid to commit to the long term relationship at first.  I’m sure I’ll read the others that come out for the series (the teaser for book 2 at the end of this book 1 was interesting), but I’m not dying for them right away.

Great read. 520+ pages. Looking forward to getting to know the other sisters better! I really enjoyed this book from front to back. Funny, sexy, emotional read! Definitely recommended! Nora Roberts' fans will enjoy this book for sure!

The story line is far fetched & flat. The characters are not like able. Because the read was dull I skipped many pages.

I enjoyed this story. It was a nice escape read. The father is a dog and I didn't like that part of the story, but without it, where would be the story? This is a clean romance, any dalliance is done behind closed doors. Each sister is responsible for a different department within the Hotel and their personalities are so different. The writing is easy to read and there is a little bit of mystery woven into the Romance. I would like to read the other books in the series.

Family is at the core of A Perfect Fit. Cami's world is rocked by grief and revelations. In her case secrets come in fours and the hits keep coming. Family growing pains tumble over into business. Her once orderly world has been thrown into chaos of the worst kind. Heather Tullis has crafted a journey of self discovery that scandalizes and surprises. Ms. Gilbert does a wonderful job of voicing the inner turmoil and angst of a woman finding her way through the storm.

2½ stars actually...When Cami's father died, she and her sister Lana discover they have four other half-sisters. Not only that, but his will stipulates that the six of them (all named after flowers no less) must work together for a year to keep their inheritance. Together the six must open and run a resort in Colorado. Add to this improbable scenario, romance with Vince, the hunky landscaper, handpicked by her father, and an ex who is out to destroy Cami. Lots of hair tucking, but no green-eyed characters...and quite a few typos-type errors, too. Not a bad romance, just a bit too perfect.

Could not stand the dead father. An adulterer and manipulative, plus a coward. He chooses to only let the sisters know about each other after he's dead, and can avoid confrontation for all his affairs. What a jerk. I was able to skip a lot of parts simply because it easy to see where it was headed.

I found the first half of the book very cluttered. There are a lot of players and background that needs to be set up for the rest of the series. Towards the middle the story got better. Might read the rest of the series; might not. Overall an ok book
