William Cuthbert Faulkner was born on the 25th September 1897 in New Albany, Mississippi.

Faulkner never graduated from high school and also dropped out of the University of Mississippi. He won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1949 as well as two Pulitizer prizes and was a prolific Hollywood screenwriter.
