It started out with an action filled scene that got your attention right off then backed up to explain 'How Did We Get Here?'. The net result was a page turning read that kept me from getting a proper night's sleep but a great deal of enjoyment. The author's have given themselves a nice big playground to explore with all kinds of mysteries to be answered.

This is a great series

This is the first book of the series and it has me hooked, it's a combination type series part space opera, space marine and sort of a apocalyptic story. The characters are strong and I like the flow of the story. Looking forward to the next book looks like I am going to binge on this one

Ok so I wasn't expecting as much as I got. Epic Science fiction loved it hate having to wait for the next book but I'm in. Well told lots of twists and turns, original story line of your into first contact jump on this.

90% of the books I read are non-fiction but chapter 1 of this book had me interested from the get-go. I must admit that being a resident of the Lone Star state sucked me into this story about West Texas. What I did not expect is what I learned crisis management from the story.
