Overview

She's named after a landform.

She learned to walk on the red carpet.

And now she's playing hostess to the nation's hottest pop star.

Desert McGraw hasn't exactly had a normal upbringing. Her dad fronts the popular rock band Crossfire, and her mom is the group's manager. Always on tour or sitting in on recording sessions, Desert leads a life that looks glamorous to most people.

But now that she's sixteen and living in yet another new town -- Miami, this time -- Desert is more than ready to call one place home. There's one problem, though: How do you know whom to trust -- let alone what guy to hook up with -- when all any-one wants is access to the band?

Funny, romantic, and filled with essential rock-star etiquette (the proper attire for cruising in a Jag convertible, how to introduce new friends to your leather-wearing dad, etc.), Backstage Pass is a look at what happens when real life meets every girl's dream.

this book was good. i think it had a really good plot and story line. the characters are really in tune with each other, though they seem to argue more often than nof. but hey, what else do you expect from a girl who's learned by expierienxe not to trust anyone...

This excellant book should be read by every teenage girl who would like to learn what is behind the scenes in a rock stars' life. They may just want to be normal.

This book can really relate to a rockstars daughter or son! It was one of the best books I have ever read! Took me only 2 days to read it and the book really sucks you in! Enjoy!

I wasn't expecting it to be great, but it wasn't even ok. It was boring, and she complains way too much, even though she has this wonderful life. Oh no! She has to switch school's a lot! I can understand not liking that, but trying to break up her dad's band, and complaining about her life 24/7 gets boring

If you like stories about celeberities, you will LOVE this book about Desert, not Dessert like it says in the book. It has everything...it's funny, sad, and makes you think.

This book is unique, because instead of giving you the perspective or the star themselves, she shows you how stardom can affect a family. Particularly, Deserts life, filled with love, conflict and cliff hangers, this book is a must read! Unfortunately I am not a writing critiqer, I haven't had the luck to be one. But, coming from a teenage girls point of view..read the book! Good job Gabby!

I absolutely loved this book! I'm a children's book reviewer, so I've already had the chance to read it before its release. Desert McGraw wants what everybody wants: to belong, to be loved for herself, to trust those around her. But being the daughter of a famous rock star, none of those come easy. A fun, surprisingly touching read.
