A “prequel” novella done right I’m a huge fan of the Broken Circle books, so it was really fun to return to Sector Four and revisit Dallas & Lex. This novella builds on Beyond Control, and should definitely be read only after reading the main book. In fact, this story starts after the complete Beyond series ends, with the main story exploring the start of their relationship told as a flashback. It’s lovely to see the beginning of Lex and Dallas’s relationship, and the rise of the O’Kane empire. In addition to exploring the back story of the King and Queen, several favorites make appearances here, including Nessa, Ace, Rachel, Amara and more. I think my favorite part was seeing how “young” Dallas and Lex both are and how much they grow throughout the course of this story. Despite being short, it feels like you really see the development of the two. Definitely loves up to the quality story telling and character development I’ve come to expect from Kit Rocha.

I received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review. So if you wanted to read the story on how Dallas and Lex met and got together, this is the book for you. It’s told in both present day and in flashbacks. I really enjoyed reading about them meeting. Truly I did. But my favourite part? Wasn’t even about them. It was the bit with Lex and Nessa. Nessa has always been one of my favourites of the girls though. And not just because she makes the hard liquors. There’s so much in this book that I want to talk about but everything I want to talk about would wind up being quoting half the book and spoiling it for those who want to read it and I try so hard not to do that and be sparing with my quotes. Like this review is one of the harder ones to write because of that. Dallas and Lex are like what people’s relationships should aspire to be (the end result not the beginning mess that it started out as). Because they respect each other and love each other. And they show it to each other constantly. All while staying true to each other. They give in to what they want and come back to each other and it’s a wonderful thing.

I loved this story, and how it delved right back to Dallas' start as a bootlegger and his ambitions. Lex, it seems, was a pain in his side but also turned out to be a big help and her influence helped forge The Broken Circle into a great bar, also with the Sector Four. The chemistry is evident between Dallas and Lex, it bubbles and simmers but they only play and nibble, not really delving into deep. That comes later. This book is a great reminder or warm up to the Beyond series. I myself now feel like starting the series all over again.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review. Guys. I absolutely LOVE Lex and Dallas. This book took us alllllll the way back to the beginning. It was nice seeing how much influence Lex had on the future of Sector Four. Dallas and Lex just have so much chemistry and it was nice to see it all unfold again. Little snippets that we didn't get to read in their book. This book was just about them and it was a nice read. It was great to see exactly how much of a gonner Dallas was the moment he caught Lex with her hand in the cookie jar, or in this case, the safe. So, should you read this book? Well, if you're a fan of Kit Rocha, I don't really need to answer that because we both know the answer is YES! If you haven't read this series yet, it's still a YES! however you need to start with the first book of the series that this is from- Beyond Shame. I'm a huge fan of everything that comes out of the minds of the gals that make up Kit Rocha. Bree and Donna are geniuses when it comes to coming together and writing imperfect characters that are perfect for each other in a steamy, sassy, beautiful kinda way.

If you ever wondered how it all began, this will answer everything. The dynamics between pre King and Queen, Declan and Lex, are phenomenal. The back and forth whit is full of sexual tension and angst. Beyond Forever is a must read pre-quill to the Beyond series.

If you've read the Beyond series, then you totally understand why this novella is so awesome. But if you haven't...well you need to do that before you even attempt to read this one, because you are going to be far too lost to enjoy how amazing it is. :) So with that said, Beyond Forever was everything I was expecting and so much more. We all love our King and Queen, so it was so much fun to go back in time to see where they started. This book showed Dallas in a more vulnerable light as he tried to make his way to the top, but it was Lex who really helped guide his way and support him throughout. She even had some creative ways to go about that and I had a grin on my face the entire time knowing just how Dallas was going to react. Overall, this was one great addition to the O'Kane for Life series, and I cannot wait to catch more glimpses into the lives of my favorite characters in the future.

I wavered back and forth a bit, but in the end I rated this a 3.5. As always with the O’Kanes and Sector 4 I liked the book. It was engaging and hot. But since I know so much about what becomes of Lex and Dallas, I didn’t feel as connected or invested to this story. If that even makes any sense. Or maybe I still saw them as their future selves instead of the present characters, and their story just felt “off” to me. Whatever the reason is, I still enjoyed the read and was happy to get a little more history on the couple and the beginnings of the O’Kane gang/family. I do look forward to future novellas in this spin off series because I never know what new information or insight I may get about my some of favorite book characters.

After reading this prequel I had dreamy eyes looking my e-reader! I fell in love with Dallas and Lex since "Beyond Shame”, the first book in the Beyond series, I don’t know how to explain it but I knew, I felt they would be special to me from the very beginning, and the next books were just the proofs of this feeling. However at the end of the series, I still missed a "piece" of their story, the point from which everything had begun, from which the bond between them started, a bond Dallas and Lex fight against so much "Beyond Forever" is just that: the missing ring of the Beyond series and absolute perfection. We find Dallas at the begin of his dream, gain power and money, lot of money and things, but above all to build a place that can be a safe haven for people in the Four Sector, his people, deeply loyal to him. For Dallas power only means he can take care of them, protect them, giving the chance to live after Eden, the city of "perfection”, has practically destroyed the rest of the world. Finally when Lex comes in Dallas' life, she is bringing with her driving force he needed to make come true his ambitions, changing a smuggler who cares, into the leader of the Fourth Sector. Because of her from nothing he becomes the King, the legend, she's his strength and the only one who can see his mistakes, and put them in front of his eyes everything, even if she must have a fight with him. Lex is also the only one able to see what really lies in Dallas's soul, his attachment to his people, his pain and Dallas can be his true-self with her, showing his weaknesses. “Beyond Forever” is amazing. It’s a novella that puts us in front of the most significant moments of their story, shifting the time through the years, showing us how Dallas's life is transformed after becoming the leader of O'Kanes, always with Lex at his side, the most important person in his life, always ready to put Dallas back in line because she believes in him and in his dream. I loved the most those moments when they are simply Declan and Alexa, facing each other. The Beyond series will always stay in my heart and I will never stop re-reading these books. It's an erotic dystopian series, sex and hard limits are part of the O'Kanes' lifestyle, but there is an intensity behind the protagonists of these stories and especially a good plot with strong changes along the entire arch of the series that gave birth to something exceptional and in my opinion, unique.

Beyond Forever by Kit Rocha is the second novella in their O’Kane for Life spinoff series. It’s not meant to be read without having read the original Beyond series as there is an assumption made that you know who the characters are, plus there may be spoilers for specific events that occurred as the series came to an end (and this review may contain spoilers as well). In Beyond Control, Lex and Dallas found their happy ending amid the ever-present turmoil of Sector Four life. Beyond Forever gives us more of their backstory, from their meeting to specific events that shaped their relationship, to where they stand now as they forge ahead into a brighter future after the war with Eden. When Declan O’Kane discovered Alexa Parrino rifling through his safe, he thought he’d gotten the upper hand and prevented any real damage from being done. Well, until he realized she’d absconded with the most important thing to him, his means of starting a premium whiskey bootlegging operation. Fortunately, Lex also realized that having Dallas hunt her down wouldn’t benefit either of them and came back to make amends. Their uneasy alliance ensured, Lex becomes instrumental to Dallas’s plans and helps shape the O’Kane legacy. The sexual heat between them leads to some sizzling encounters, but they won’t become a power couple until they learn to trust each other. I loved this look back at what shaped Lex and Dallas’s relationship and how the O’Kane brotherhood got its start! I continue to be amazed at the worldbuilding that has gone into this series, down to the smallest details. We learn a bit more about some favorite characters, and some scenes are bittersweet, knowing how things turned out later. I found it interesting that without Lex, Dallas wouldn’t have become the man that he is now. Plus, it was fun to see the push and pull as they fight their attraction to each other. Reading this story has made me want to glom the original series right from the start! If you’re a fan of the Beyond series, you will thoroughly enjoy this trip down memory lane.

Before they were the King and Queen… Six years before the Beyond series started, an ambitious bootlegger named Dallas O’Kane caught a very pretty thief named Lex with her hand in his safe. The rest is very sexy history. In Beyond Forever, follow Dallas and Lex through the turning points in their relationship, from the night he caught her trying to rob him, through his rise to successful bootlegger, to legend, to Sector Leader--with Lex always there, willing to give him the push he needs. Beyond Forever is a prequel novella that jumps through time to tell the story of the biggest moments in the formation of the O’Kanes and their King and Queen. It will be far more enjoyable if you’ve already read Beyond Control, and contains spoilers for the entire Beyond series. Review: All Hail the King and Queen!! Loved this look into the past. One of my favorite couples of Dallas and Lex get a behind the series look into their past. It was so much fun to read about how Lex and Dallas met and what lead to them being the King and Queen. I will say this because of it jumping to the present, if you have not read the other books in the series you should read them first. It will really be better for your reading enjoyment. Otherwise, if you love this series like I do this is such a great treat. It is a quick read, too quick if you love Dallas and Lex. It is filled with emotion and sexy goodness. Again, if you have not read this series, you really should. 5Stars *I voluntarily read and advance reader copy of this book provided by the Authors.*

Another great book by Kit Rocha. I just love the O'Kanes, you just can't stop loving them. Loved learning about how sector 4 started. Of course Dallas and Lex just can't be replaced, not with any new book or series. Loving Gideons riders though, just want to know about all the sectors. Never stop the Sector books Kit.

Lex’s first words to Dallas: “Well. This is awkward.” (as Dallas catches Lex elbow deep in his safe) And so begins the witty banter between the King and Queen of Sector Four. The chemistry between the thief and the bootlegger is amazing. Beyond Forever spans several years during which we see their relationship evolve. They meet, spar and reshape the Sector into a place of refuge for their “family”. The evolution of The Broken Circle from a place for Dallas to sell his booze into a showcase for all that could be is fascinating. Lex pushes Dallas into taking control of the Sector. She pushes him to be a true leader and not just a bully. Lex has the ability to read and understand people and then push Dallas to allow people the freedom to be their true selves. Warning: at one point this required a strike. Every leader needs a Lex, someone who will tell him what he needs to hear, not what he wants to hear. And all lives in Sector Four are better for it. 5 stars. This is not a standalone. If you read this before reading the Beyond series, you will encounter spoilers. You have been warned. Books #1 and #2 (Beyond Shame and Beyond Control ) are currently .99 (as of 10/24/17).

I fell in love with the Beyond series from the very beginning and I have loved all the characters, without fail. We got bits and pieces of Dallas and Lex's beginnings here and there, and I always wanted more. Now we have it and WOW!!! This is their backstory. How Dallas and Lex became the king and queen of Sector Four. And it was everything this reader, this fan, could have asked for and so much more. This story showed us just how important Lex was in helping Dallas become the man we have all come to adore. In helping him understand that the women around him were just as important in his plans as the men were. What a fantastic treat this story was for all the fans of the O'Kanes!!!

Beyond Forever takes us to before there was a forever – before Dallas and Lex were, well, Dallas and Lex. Before Dallas was king. Before Lex was queen. Before the Broken Circle. Before the Sector Four we know and love. We get to see how it all began – the heartache, the struggles, and the development of not just the characters of Dallas and Lex, but of some of the others in Sector Four. We see glimpses of Nessa growing up, of the very beginning of Ace and Rachel, how it all began for Flash and Amira – all woven into the fabric of the growth of Sector Four. I loved seeing Dallas’s character develop. Beyond Forever makes him so much more human to me – as king of Sector Four, he seems so strong and unbreakable, and while accessible, he still has that “I am the king” intimidation factor. But in Beyond Forever, we get to see some vulnerability and uncertainty as he develops into the force behind the Beyond series. And Lex – we know that she is an amazingly strong female character, but I loved seeing the impact she has on how life works in Sector Four. From the subtle to the not-so-subtle influence she has on Dallas, to seeing some of the things we take for granted as “just the way things are” in Sector Four as the result of Lex fighting for it to be that way, we see the stepping stones on her path to becoming queen. Kit Rocha gives us another look into Sector Four, and, as usual, I was blown away!

I was sent a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This book was such a refreshing read since it has been years since I first read Beyond Control and so it's been a long time since I read an entire book told from Dallas and Lex's perspectives. And I'm not going to lie, it was nice to finally be able to read the beginning to their story. This book is set as a sort of flashback instead of a prequel. The entire thing is more or less Dallas remembering how they met and then the plot develops from there. Was it the most exciting and surprising story? No, of course not. We know how it all ends thanks to the Beyond Shame and Beyond Control. And it's a short book, the epub is barely over 100 pages. This book just served to fill in a few details to help us as readers picture it all more easily. All of that being said, I did have a little difficulty getting through the book because at this point I'm so used to Kit's writing style that I was expecting romance that wasn't going to be in this book because it would have gone against established facts that have already been written in this world. So while I knew those elements weren't going to be in the bulk of the book, I was still expecting them, which is more my problem than the story's. Also, it was difficult for me to remember that this was a time before all of the couples from the Beyond series even knew each other for the most part, let alone had paired off and fallen in love, so it was a little weird to read about Jasper hooking up with girls other than Noelle, or Dallas having any sort of relationship with someone other than Lex etc. All in all, this is a great read if you love the king and queen of sector 4 and I highly recommend it.

Let me start out by saying this is a fantastic addition to this series. I've always had a hard time understanding Lex -- sometimes I got her and sometimes I didn't and Beyond Forever helped me see a different side of her. I got her. Beyond Forever is the story of the beginnings of the O'Kane legend, if you will, and the early days of Dallas and Lex. I loved every minute of this story, especially the glimpses of the early days... and well, you should read it instead of me telling you about it because it's terrific. I love that these authors have found a way to give us more of the characters I fell in love way back when I first found this world. Definitely recommended. An ARC was provided for review.

***4 ‘Long Live the King & Queen’ Stars*** This was a fun ride to see where Lex and Dalla, as well as the O’Kane’s, began and all that they gave and lost in order to gain in the first steps towards their ultimate freedom from the powers that be in Eden. I must admit that while it was fun to see what led up to Lex and Dallas becoming King and Queen, I actually found that I had more fun seeing how the relationships between the early O’Kane’s developed and came to be. My favorite scene’s were Nessa, Pops and Amira and Flash, because they’ve typically been on the fringes of the series with the exception of Nessa in the end. I must agree with the authors when they say that if you have not at least read Beyond Control that you should before diving into this one, and will say that it would be best if you read the entire series, because it will simply be that much more fun and meaningful. But, if you choose to dive in to Beyond Forever you’ll be highly entertained and more than likely be looking to start (or finish the series if you are still working through it) sooner rather than later. ~ Copy provided by the author & voluntarily reviewed ~

This is a fantastic insight into the history of Dallas and Lex. It feels like coming home whenever I read about these two. The ultimate O'Kanes, I always love hearing how their doing through the main series. I found it really interesting getting into Dallas's headspace in his younger years. He always seemed impenetrable throughout the main series, it gave me greater understanding of how he came to be the leader of Sector Four. Lex came across a much softer character that I thought she was. She's the heart of the O'Kanes where as Dallas is the backbone. She truly sees everyone around her and isn't clouded by the responsibility of leadership. Dallas's view sometimes becomes a little narrow and he needs Lex to balance him out and see the bigger picture. I personally think that their relationship is so strong because they didn't immediately jump into each other's arms. They needed to find their roles individually before they could really become so compatible, I think they would of destroyed each other without such a deep level of respect and understanding. You couldn't find a couple more perfect for each other!

So you've read the Beyond series and fell in love with the characters of Sector Four but always wanted just a little more ? Well you are in luck and honestly it's way more than this reader dared hope for because this talented duo have gone back in time to give readers the awesome couple that are Dallas and Lex ! Yes I know it's beyond ( oops pun not intended ) your wildest dreams because you just know that with all the wildness and sexual proclivities that the O 'Kane's share there has to be a starting point and finally it's here in all it's glorious and rampant detail! So travel back in time and discover for yourself just how far the King and Queen of Sector Four have come. Yes it's a novella so it's not something that I'd usually give a five star rating to admittedly but I loved the way we see the progression that this couple make. Dallas is portrayed as having such heart and yet he knows in order to keep those he considers ' his ' safe sacrifices have to be made. So try to imagine how he feels when confronted by a woman who knocks his world on its axis. Lex isn't a pussycat no, she's as dangerous in her own way as any of the head cracking O'Kanes . So not only does Lex challenge Dallas when he is wrong she also doesn't just tell him so no, this gal steps up and runs rings around him! This was a fabulous addition to the series but most of all it gave so many insights into just what has made these characters what they are but also just how far they have come. I've no wish to ruin the story but will say a must read for fans and actually also a pretty good place to start for those still not sure if this sexy ground breaking series is for them. This voluntary take is of an advance reader copy and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair
