Return to the Endgame trilogy where blood is thick, but passion is thicker...

He doesn't believe in fairy-tale endings...

They used to call Evan Bishop the golden boy. He had it all and was about to close the business deal of a lifetime, then marry the woman of his dreams. But everything goes to hell when a faceless enemy wants to destroy his family's empire and see him dead. Except the bomb meant to kill him fails. He wakes up from a coma to find his face scarred and his brother missing and wanted for murder. Now that he's damaged, he hides away from the world—including the woman he loves. He refuses to be a burden to her, so even though it destroys him, he sets her free.

She's about to prove him wrong...

Isla MacDonald isn't walking away from Evan just because he's decided to shut her out of his life. He blames himself for the bombing that got her father killed and nearly killed him—but he's wrong. After all attempts to see him fail, with a broken heart she tries to resume her life and take over her father's firm. Though it's not her dream, she wants to honor his legacy. But when someone tries to kill her—twice—she needs a bodyguard. To her surprise Evan steps up and insists on protecting her, putting on a show as the caring fiancé. But he won't let her back into his life or into his heart. To have any chance at a future together, they'll have to resurrect the past and stay alive long enough to expose the man determined to see them both dead.

Book 2 in the Endgame trilogy is filled with twists and turns, suspense, and a second-chance love story. We met Evan and Isla in book one, Bishop’s Knight, after Evan had been targeted in an explosion that kills Isla’s father. Lying in a coma, Isla patiently awaits his awakening and their pending wedding. Unfortunately, Evan awakens riddled with guilt about the bombing and immediately pushes Isla away by refusing to see her. Heartbroken, but determined to move on with her life, she steps into her father’s shoes to run the family business. While working on closing a deal, strange things begin to happen… Isla is being stalked, the office security system has been compromised, and someone wants her dead. When Evan learns that Isla is in danger, he volunteers to be her bodyguard and keep her by his side. As Evan and Isla try to determine who wants to harm her, they both realize their love is still strong. But will Isla be able to trust Evan again with her heart? I loved book 1 in the series, and look forward to book 3.

This is the second book of the trilogy and it doesn’t disappoint. We met the Bishop family in book one, Bishop’s Knight. Evan Bishop had it all. A building family business, a loving family, a beautiful fiancee. But then someone tried to destroy it all in one nightmare. He almost lost his life and couldn’t be a burden to the woman he was supposed to marry. He was responsible, or so he thought, for her losing her father and almost the entire business. Lots of parallel stories are going on and you really have to start at the beginning to follow along. I always love series, where you get invested in the family or the characters and continue to watch them change and grow. Katie Reus does this very well and the Endgame trilogy is another winner.

Bishop’s Queen by Katie Reus Endgame Trilogy #2 Two months apart doesn’t seem to have quenched the flame that burns between Evan Bishop and Isla Mac Donald. He may have broken off with his fiance and she may have tried to put the relationship behind her but when they see one another again...what will happen? Isla is set on making deals go through that her father had set in play before he was killed in a bomb blast. For the past two months she has been working hard to achieve that goal. Evan has been working on overcoming the injuries he sustained in that same bomb blast and also trying to forget Isla. Well, the two do NOT forget one another and in this book soon find there is someone behind mysterious happenings at Isla’s business and in her life. Evan steps in to keep her safe and help solve the mystery and of course, proximity to one another and time together soon leads them back to fanning the embers that were only sleeping while they were apart. The mystery is eventually solved and the two do move on to their HEA ending as the final book in the series is set up that will deal with Ellis, the brother of Evie and Evan, who has been missing after being accused of something heinous. Did I enjoy this book? Not as much as the first book Why? It was less dramatic and more of a second chance romance AND I didn’t feel Isla made Evan grovel enough. Do I want to read book three in the series? Yes Why? I want to find out where Ellis has been and what his story is. What else? I am curious about Geno Conti and would LOVE a book about him ;) Thank you to NetGalley and InkSlinger PR for the ARC – This is my honest review. 3-4 Stars

But when someone tries to kill her and she needs a bodyguard, Evan steps up and insists on protecting her. The second book in the ‘Endgame Trilogy’ is continues to engage readers with lots of thrills and emotional turmoil that draws readers in and refuses to let go. The chemistry between Evan and Isla oozes appealing electrical currents that readers can practically feel but this relationship is quite rocky due to the events that took place in the previous book (this book could be read as a standalone but to get the full impact of this relationship, it should be read in sequence). The after math and the rocky relationship has lots of emotions flowing from the pages that really gives readers a feel for what these strong, bold characters are going through and makes the characters as well as the story come alive. The plot is a fast paced, suspenseful buildup of adrenaline pumping events that keep readers on the edge of their seat and holding their breath with anticipation and the surprising twists ensures that readers can’t possibly predict any outcome or guess just who the bad guy is during this shocking and exhilarating read.

Someone set off a bomb that killed Isla's father and severely injured Evan. As his fiancée she was in danger. He thought that he was protecting Isla by shutting her out of his life. I was both amazed at Evan's sacrifice and shocked at his stupidity. She loved and needed him. Instead he rejected her and broke her heart. Isla is such a caring woman. I was impressed at her spirit and bravery. She's moving forward and rebuilding her life without the man she still loves. Unfortunately she has a crazed stalker who will stop at nothing to possess her. Can Evan save her? He's got his work cut out for him. I was glad to see him put his fears and guilt behind him. He needs to be focused in order to save his woman. Their love is powerful. It was amazing to see them rekindle their love. It was an emotional journey. Katie Reus kept me on the edge of my seat. The action and danger we're nonstop. The storyline had unexpected twists that threw me off balance. I loved and cared for her characters. It was fun to have Red Stone Secuity involved. As usual Katie Reus doesn't disappoint. Her romantic suspense novels are excellent. I can't wait for the third book in Endgame Trilogy. I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinion.

Bishop's Queen is a romantic suspense thriller that will keep you guessing. Evan Bishop pushed away his fiancé, Isla MacDonald, after a bombing that injured him and killed her father. But now she is in danger and he will do anything to keep her safe even put his heart on the line. I loved this fast paced story and kept trying to guess the killer (I was totally wrong) Evan and Isla were hot together and I can’t wait for the next installment.

I devoured this book in one sitting. After having read and loved book 1 in the Endgame Trilogy I knew I had to have book 2 ASAP, and in keeping with my impatient nature, I am now desperate for book 3. I’m loving the Bishop siblings so much. Evan Bishop suffered a great tragedy in his life, and thus pushed away the one person he truly loved, Isla McDonald, breaking her heart in the process. Two months down the line and he still can’t forgive himself, or bring himself to even speak with Isla, until he finds out that Isla is in danger. He pulls out all the stops to protect her, but will she forgive him for the dreadful way he treated her? Can they be just friends, and is that what they both want? Wonderful writing, a great story full of action and suspense with a little sexy time in the mix. I was pulled into the story from the first chapter, fully invested in both main characters, and loving the push and pull they had going between them. This book can be read as a stand-alone, but as is always the case, it’s even better if you read the series from the beginning. I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Wow, I love this amazing series. It has action, suspense, intrigue and danger. Evan and Isla are endearing characters with great chemistry. This book has so many twists and turns that every time I thought I knew who the bad guy was, I quickly realized that I didn't. This book is another amazing romantic suspense and I would definitely recommend it.

The second book in the Endgame Trilogy starts about 2 months after Bishop’s Knight ends. The first 4 chapters sealed the deal for me that this is a fantastic story. Isla is such a strong woman. She is determined to make sure her father’s final wish is fulfilled before stepping back from the company. Even if that means dealing with the man who ripped her heart into shreds. In true romantic suspense style, these two are learning to trust each other again while trying to figure out who is trying to kill Isla. In true Katie Reus style, a red herring was thrown in the mix, which had me second guessing until the end who actually was the stalker/killer. So enjoyed this story and cannot wait for Ellis’ return. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.

The second exciting story in Katie Reus' romantic suspense thriller. This is Evan's story, the golden boy who almost died in the bomb blast that killed his fiance Isla's father and scarred him horribly. I wanted to knock him silly when he closed himself off from this loving family and fiance. He was riddled with guilt over the Douglas' death and horrified at this extensive scarring. To say he's not dealing with this well would be an understatement. This story takes place 2 months after the blast. Isla has assumed her dad's role and taken over his company to finish the deals he had in the works at his death. This is a temporary position as it's not a good fit but she wants to continue the good her dad started. Evan was her rock and she's devastated at his rejection of their love and him not being in her life. But life must go on and she's pasted on a smile and is pretending everything is fine. Evan and she come face to face at a social/business event and they are both shaken by it. As the story progresses we find someone is trying to kill Isla and Evan makes himself her self appointed bodyguard because he just can't stay away. Isla on the other hand really doesn't understand the danger of going out on her own as shown by several close calls. This is a well written puzzler and the chemistry between Isla and Even is electric. I always enjoy Katie's stories and this was another great one. I can't wait for the end of the trilogy when we find out why the last sibling Ellis, is hiding and what he's dug up to clear his name with the FBI. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

4.25stars--BISHOP’S QUEEN is the second instalment in Katie Reus’ contemporary, adult ENDGAME erotic, romantic suspense trilogy focusing on the Bishop siblings-Evie, Evan and Ellis Bishop. This is thirty-eight year old, businessman and former Marine Evan Bishop, and twenty-eight year old, Isla McDonald’s storyline. BISHOP’S QUEEN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalment is revealed where necessary. There is a slight cross-over with the author’s Red Stone Security series. Told from three third person perspectives including Evan and Isla BISHOP’S QUEEN picks up immediately after the events of book one Bishop’s Knight, and follows the rebuilding relationship between thirty-eight year old, businessman and former Marine Evan Bishop, and twenty-eight year old, Isla McDonald. Months earlier a bomb killed Isla McDonald’s father and seriously injured the man that she loved but in the ensuing months, Evan Bishop pushed Isla McDonald out of his life believing he was responsible for her father’s death. Fast forward to present day wherein Isla has taken over her father’s business, and in doing so, has become the target of an unknown stalker. Still in love with Isla McDonald, Evan becomes guardian and protector of our story line heroine. What ensues is the second chance romance between Isla and Evan, and the potential fall-out as Isla’s stalker is intent on destroying her life, along with the lives of anyone who interferes Evan Bishop is scarred both inside and out, and in this our hero struggles with his place in Isla McDonald’s life. Unable to come to terms with the bombing, at his building, that took the life of his fiancee’s father business magnate Douglas McDonald, Evan battles between head and heart believing he was unable to protect the woman he loved. Isla McDonald never wanted to take over the family business but her father’s death forced our heroine to become CEO and boss of a company she had been hoping to leave, a company that would become ground zero for the attack against her life. The relationship between Evan and Isla is one of second chances; a rebuilding romance between two people torn apart by jealousy and betrayal; vengeance and madness. Evan Bishop has never stopped loving Isla McDonald, and with new threats against her life, Evan becomes both protector and lover to the woman with whom he wanted to spend the rest of his life. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. We are re-introduced to Evan’s sister Evie and her husband Dylan Blackwood (Bishop’s Knight #1), as well as Detective Carlito Duarte. The reader is introduced to businessman Geno Conti; head of security Logan Masters; senior executive Madeleine, and IT specialist Oliver Mulaney, and Isla’s mother Sophia McDonald. Evan’s brother, DEA Agent Ellis Bishop having been framed for a murder he did not commit, remains on the run-his story is next in the final instalment-Bishop’s Endgame. BISHOP’S QUEEN is a story of one man’s obsession taken too far; of one couple’s fight for their relationship and love. The character driven premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are stubborn, captivating and determined; the romance is provocative and intense. A great instalment in Katie Reus ENDGAME Trilogy.

This is the second book in this fantastic new series. It's brother Evan's book and we met him in book one. Evan decided to make the worst mistake of his life after having his life changed forever. He broke it off with Isla the love of his life. And now a few months after he started to begin his life again she is in extreme danger and there is no way he is letting her out of his sight. Will that be enough though? Will she give him a second chance? We get a ton of action and mystery in this one and you don't know till the end who is the culprit. Loved it!!!

This is book 2 in the Endgame Trilogy and I would absolutely read book 1 before reading this one or you will be confused about events that happened in that one that lead into this one. We saw snippets of Evan's accident and how he handled it along with his relationship with Isla. Now months later we get their full story. Evan has secluded himself since the accident, not only from people that he cares about but from the world on a whole. After Evan throws her out of his life, Isla is just trying to get through a day at a time. And trying to go on with her life while realizing that he truly doesn't want her in his any longer. So she tries to honor her father's by pushing through the last deal he was trying to make and then she plans to move on. But when someone tries to kill her, it pushes Evan to protect her. But it also pushed him to confront his own issues about the accident and realize that he will never stop loving Isla. This was a beautifully written story that pushes all my emotional buttons. Evan has so many things that he is dealing with because of the accident that he pushes everyone away, and when he finally talks about it-it's a tear jerker. Isla not only dealt with the death of her father basically alone but had to deal with losing Evan as well, and that definitely made me want to cry. The fact that she has such a capacity of forgiveness just shows how beautiful a soul she really is. Because how many people can truly forgive someone? I loved this one!! Every minute of it! Now I am impatient for the last book because I really need to know what happened with that brother!

Another amazing read in this trilogy that has completely captivated me! Isla is trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the bombing that not only killed her father, but that was the catalyst to Evan pushing her out of his life. When it becomes apparent someone is out to harm her, he now reverses that decision and is forcing himself back in. But the pain she carries from his rejection also carries distrust. What’s to stop him from leaving her again? Isla, while not a kick tail kind of heroine, is certainly fierce, strong and determined. She is living a life she never wanted but loyalty dictates that she follow through. As the danger around her escalates, she may not wilt, but she takes comfort in the protection Evan offers her. Even so, she doesn’t forgive his actions easy. She makes him work to find a way back into her life and I appreciated that she didn’t just roll over for him with his first apology. Evan has more than his scars to keep Isla away from him. But when he learns she might be in danger, he quickly reevaluates his decision to break things off with her. The fact is, she’s all that matters to him and he will do anything to win her back, even if all she will ever see him as is a friend. He’s pretty much my perfect hero with his desire to protect her above all else, as well as his tendency to feel jealousy when it’s not really warranted, and especially when it is. And holy heck did the guy grovel, apologize and work to gain her trust again. As all of Kate Reus’ books, this is well developed with lots of danger, action and sizzling chemistry. From the first page, this book takes off and never slows down. Even as Isla and Evan struggle with their relationship and how to move forward, the tension is always present. I tried to pin down the bad guy from the beginning, wavered and moved to someone else, then someone else, and finally realized I had it all wrong the whole time. This can definitely be read as a standalone, but reading book one will give you a deeper look into what Isla had to go through when Evan ghosted her. The next book is about Ellis and I cannot wait to find out what his whole story is.

Evan Bishop was severely injured in a bomb explosion that killed his fiancée’s father. Due to his feelings of guilt that he was unable to protect her father, he pushed Isla away. Isla was deeply hurt when Evan refused to see her, but kept busy taking care of her father’s business interests. When Evan sees her at an event, he realizes that he was a fool to let her go, but will she forgive him? When Isla’s life is threatened, Evan steps up her protection while the police investigate. When there is another threat, he convinces her to stay at his home. Who is targeting Isla, and why? Suspense, intrigue, hot romance and raw emotion…this book has it all. An amazing sequel to the first book in the trilogy, “Bishop’s Knight”. I can’t wait for Ellis’ story in the third book “Bishop’s Endgame”. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

What a fantastic addition to this trilogy. The story line is full of twists and turns as Evan and Isla both deal with doubt and hurt while working to figure out who is stalking her. Unique characters with amazing interactions make this a must read. Can't wait to read more. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book; all opinions expressed are my own.

This is the second book in the Endgame series and I did not read the first book so I was a little lost at first. Isla MacDonald was engaged to Evan Bishop but after the accident that scared him for life he pushes her away. Isla is attacked and that’s all it takes for Evan to realize he will always love and protect her. Ms Reus is superb at intrigue and suspense. After the initial confusion the action kept my attention and kept me guessing until the end.The love story was full of aghast and super hot. Now I need to go back and read the first book. I’m glad we don’t have to wait long for the last book to come out.

Bishop's Queen (Endgame Trilogy, #2) by Katie Reus ...Another winner for Katie.. Thanks so much to Katie, the publisher and #NetGalley for letting me preview this book. This is Evan Bishop(scarred mentally and physically from a bomb that kill Isla's dad) Isla MacDonald ( she doesn't ant give up on Evan even if he has shut her out)...this is where their story picks up and it has it all .. murder, suspense, angst, danger, some laughs, tears, twists and turns, getting to keep up with old friends and some steamy stuff all to get us to a HEA. This book can be read as a stand alone but I recommend you read the first book BISHOP'S KNIGHT and I can't wait for BISHOP'S ENDGAME Ellis story. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Tragic Tear-jerker Happily Ever After Steamy Wonderful characters Scary Easy-to-read Entertaining Unpredictable Action-packed Romantic Page-turner Witty Great world building

When I read about Evan and Isla in Bishop's Knight I literally cried. You could feel the pain Isla was feeling when Evan cut her off without a word. I'm glad we jumped right into their story next because I wanted to see them fixed so badly. I'm not usually a fan of pushing away but this author does such a great job of showing how much the pusher loves the other that I can always seem to forgive them for the hurt. Evan is no different. Despite pushing Isla away because of his scars, he was so devoted to her. You never doubted his love and thankfully, you never see him with another woman. On top of such a strong love that you get with these two, there is also the suspense that left me guessing all the way to he end. I guessed the wrong man to be the evil foe and that makes me love this more. I like when things are not predictable. Great story, loved this couple and I can not wait for Ellis's book next!

Once again, this talented author manages to capture our attention from the first page to the last. We met Isla McDonald and Evan Bishop in book one. These two were engaged with a bright future until a bomb in a building killed Isla’s father, and severely injured Evan. Leaving him not only with scars throughout his body, but also with a sense of guilt. He breaks Isla’s heart when he sends her away and refuses to see her. Both suffering from his decision, Evan changes his mind when Isla is in danger. But will be able to re-gain her trust, and love while also keeping her safe, or will it be too late to salvage a broken heart her keep Isla away from harm? This is not only an action packed story, filled with twists and turns, whodunit, as well as physical and emotional scars . It is also a story about hope , love and second chances. Not surprisingly, this one is another winner for this author. I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
