What a great new series by Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully! I loved the idea of Billionaires in Love as soon as they announced this series and the first book is a winner for sure. Will Franconi had a rough start to life and because of it, his past has always remained a tightly guarded secret. He and his group of friends, called The Mavericks, along with his foster parents, are all the family that Will has ever needed. That and making something of himself by becoming a wealthy man where everything is going his way. Or so he thought until he receives a letter from a teenaged boy who puts him on the path to meeting the boy and his sister. After losing her parents to a car accident several years ago, Harper Newman is the guardian of her teenaged brother who was also in an accident when he was seven and depends on her for everything. She has vowed never to let him be hurt again. Harper has made the decision to close herself off to love after the men she has dated previously have only wanted to get close to her due to what she could do for them was never about her. When Will and Harper meet due to the letter that her brother sent to Will, sparks fly immediately, however neither one of them wants to admit it. They both have their own hang-ups regarding why they shouldn't get involved, but they both realize early on that it's inevitable they are going to eventually come together. As Will builds a relationship with Harper's brother, Jeremy, she sees her brother blossoming like he never has before. Will genuinely cares, which is a new thing for Harper to experience. Can these two people that have demons in their pasts be able to get past them and give the magnetic pull they are feeling a chance? Will they trust one another enough to open up? Kudos to Bella Andre and Jennifer Skully for crafting a story where both the hero and the heroine learn some tough lessons about themselves throughout the course of the book. You could see both of them growing as the story went on because the other person was bringing things to the forefront that they had not realized. I really enjoyed the characters and I'm looking forward to the books of the other Mavericks still to come!

Terrific This is a really great story. Will wasn't always the wealthy guy he is. He grew up poor and ended up living with a great family which included a lot of his friends. The Maverick's, they have all done well for themselves. He collects and builds card as a hobby and appeared on a car show which brought Jeremy & his sister to his attention. Jeremy was guys when he was younger and cars fascinate him. Harper fascinates Will. But Will wants to do good for her brother also.

Story has a good plot with interesting and very well developed characters but way too much graphic sex... about 1/3 of the book was sex.

Throughly engaging story. There was a romance between Will and Harper that had its obstacles to overcome, but I enjoyed the back story of Jeremy and Will friendship develop. Highly recommend. Mjw

Will Franconi is the most unexpected type of Billionaire, through his words and actions everyday he shows how much he cares for the world around him. Considering the life he came from this is really a refreshing personality to see. Harper Newman lives her life for her brother and is his only family. Thanks to a heart felt letter her brother writes to Will about his car collection Harper and Will meet and sparks fly. I loved the way these two seam to fill all the empty spaces in each-other without even trying. This was a great story of love and self discovery. Look forward to reading the rest of the Maverick's stories.

Harper and Will help each other see their pasts and presents differently to have happy fufilling life together. Getting there was filled with doubts, fun and seduction. I did spend most of the book wanting to smack Harper and alternately wanting to shake then hug Will. The mark of a very good author. Thank you Bella Andre.

AudioBook Review: Stars: Overall: 4 Narration: 3 Story: 4 The Mavericks are a group of five friends (Daniel. Sebastian, Evan, Matt and Will) who have been friends for years. Picking themselves up from neglect and abuse (and the resulting troubles) as children, they’ve moved on to more and better, never forgetting where they came from. First up is Will, who has spent the intervening years atoning, for his past, but never quite believing he is worthy of the good things that are coming from his new focus on life. His past is tortured and heartbreaking, not always the best choices were made, but completely understandable in the situation he was thrust into. But, his guilt, often overriding, and the lack of self-belief are incredibly sad: he’s changed and reinvented himself, if only he could see it. And then comes Harper, with her own set of overwhelming circumstances in the form of a younger (now 18 year old) brother who suffered a traumatic brain injury as a child and isn’t able to function completely on his own. Harper is bound and determined that she is meant to provide for Jeremy, and has done her level best to always provide and be the father and mother he needs. Until Will, she had no real thoughts of a relationship for herself. These three are wonderful together. Will, most probably because of the past experience he had with being unwanted, misjudged and essentially ignored is wonderful with Jeremy, engaged and engaging, and seeing things in the boy that only he could. The fact that Harper trusts him to spend time with Jeremy, despite his past, gives him moments of hope for brighter things on the horizon. And the connection between Harper and Will is well-written and all the more striking for Harper’s unwillingness to accept Will’s self-doubt and self-deprecation. Moments of steam add to build their connection, and this story shows a dubious trope (the Billionaire) as something worth reading, presenting real life difficulties and challenges without overwhelming or losing the romantic moments. Narration is provided by Eva Kaminsky for this story, and workmanlike or steady are the best descriptives. Slight variations in tone and delivery did highlight the different characters, but the long time spent in interior monologues did not give me the satisfaction of fast-paced one off the other dialogue that adds to the enjoyment of an audiobook. A decent listen which I would have liked to see in dual-narration. I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Audible Customer Relations for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Great collaboration and a Super new series I loved this concept, Maverick Billionaires who don't have perfect lives/backgrounds and strong women. Throw in some challenging family dynamics to tug your heart strings and you have a super read. Get this one, you’ll love it, I know I did :)

Reviewed by Annie and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog I haven’t read anything by Jennifer Skully before but I’ve pretty much read every book Bella Andre has written so I was curious to see what this new series would be like. BREATHLESS IN LOVE is the first book in the Maverick Billionaire series. Now if you’ve read Andre’s Sullivans’ series then you are probably familiar with her overachieving fun-loving family. I strongly feel that this series will have the same tone and style. You can definitely see Andre’s touch with the heroes at least because WILL IS SO CHARMING AND SWOON-WORTHY!! Will Franconi not only has heavy pockets, but he is also a woman’s dream come true. He likes fast cars, is incredibly patient and considerate and he has no problem apologizing if he steps over a line. That man is hard to find and it’s probably what makes this book so good. I’m betting all the heroes in this series will be amazing and that is why I’m getting ahead of the game here and claiming them all. So back off, the Maverick Billionaires are mine! In addition to the great hero, this book also has a fantastic heroine. Harper has lived a very hard life. Her brother might be a teenage but after a car accident that caused some brain trauma, he still has the mind of a seven year old. Since her parents died, Harper has been taking care of him and is loving every minute of it. But that means, she doesn’t have much time for herself. So when Will comes into her life, charming her off her feet, their romance really feels like something out of a dream or a fantasy. It’s easy to get lost in books like these because I find them uplifting and fun, never dragging you down. That being said, this book is a quick read and is great for a weekend treat or something to take with you to the beach. I will definitely be interested to see what the other stories in the series will hold for us. *ARC provided by author
