Charon's Last Call

Souls on a tipping point are bound by fate as each life is weighted, judged, and adjudicated. Gary serves as the bailiff, the tour guide, and the Master of Ceremonies who conducts ten souls through to their conclusion. Who better than the ferryman could understand a soul's need for final determination?

The events in this book are not a guide for the afterlife and offer no guarantees to help your bad habits in a particular way. The cases on the following pages will make you uncomfortable and possibly disturb the boldest of us. Life is not for the faint of heart, and Charon's Last Call has no rubber room but instead suggests a compelling sip of reality with a twist of free will. Without numbers, lines, and all the time in the world, the only way to get out of this pinch is with a spin of chance. So, whatever your theory of immanence may be, this place doesn't apologize for its rules and is never on break. Kiss your loved ones, pour a drink, and enjoy a robust set of individuals that have loved and lost, hated and tormented, served their god of choice, and are ready to risk salvation.

About the Author

Gina Lynelle Schaefer was born in Lafayette Louisiana in 1970 where she spent the first five years of life dancing to Cajun music and eating beignets. Although she does not have many memories of the swamp, dreams of the amazing cemeteries sprouted throughout the cities mesmerize her mind and igniting a flourishing imagination. To this day she enjoys reminiscing about field trips visiting the historic cemeteries that pepper the landscape where they decorated the graves with flowers and coins in remembrance of the dead. At the age of six, she picked up her Texas twang when she moved to Spring, Texas, a small suburb outside of Houston where she spent most of her childhood except for a brief stint in London. This is when her eyes opened to a much larger world outside of southern hospitality and a love for all things Victorian grew. Although these places seem very different in geography, one thing they all had in common was ghosts. Paranormal activity was a bigger part of her life than Barbie Dolls and Easy Bake Ovens. When making vacation plans, she scopes out haunted sites with an interesting back story. When contacted regarding all thing's ghosts, she is there to help with paranormal consultation and investigations and assurance that not all things are evil and when there is, it can be fought with good. Many of her experiences are documented on her social media accounts. After meeting and marrying an amazing man, she sought out a degree in Psychology, gave birth to her wonderful son Joseph and became a teacher. Now she focuses on her passion of writing paranormal thrillers and investigating haunted sites.
