*I received this ARC from the Author via Penguin Group Publishing in exchange for an Honest Review* I absolutely read this out of order, accepting the book without realizing it was the 15th in the series. I do NOT regret doing so. Daylighters, I assume, pretty much picks up where Fall of Night finishes. as stated this is the first book in the series I've read lol. This story follows the series' ragtag group of heroes, Claire, Eve, Shane, and Michael, for one last endeavor...To save Morganville as well as its resident vampires from the clutches of the Daylight Foundation. Certain sentences, phrases, and dialogue easily remind the reader of previous escapades with the Daylighters and their nefarious founder Rhys Fallon from earlier books. I particularly liked how even though this book was the 15th in the series, I didn't find myself overly lost since I haven't read the other 14 yet. If anything, this book absolutely has me wanting to pick up Glass Houses and read the story as it should be read, from the beginning. I truly thank Penguin Publishing for giving me the chance to review this spectacular work and I look forward to seeing what else what this author can come up with. I give this book 5 of 5 paws

This book was really good! I love how it is back to Claire's POV but I find myself asking 'What is Michael thinking?' Or 'what is Oliver doing right now?' These were typical Morganville days in this bok and truthfully I disliked the ending amd and it seems as though this is not the end butt it is, Rachel told me herself at Less Than Three. :(

I have read every book in this series. These characters have just become part of me. I love this book! Only complaint is it is the last book. :'(

The only aspect that disappointed me in this book was the afterword that indicated that this was the last book to be written in this series. I will miss the adventures of Clare, Shane, Michael and Eve. I really wanted more but the book finishes the story up nicely. I really wanted to see what Clare was going to accomplish with her talents and how Oliver and Amelie's relationship was going to progress. I really enjoyed this series and I'm sad that it has ended.

Really loved Claire and Shane, Eve and Michael, also Amelie, Myrnin and Oliver. What great characters and story. Couldn't turn the pages fast enough. I have read every book in this series and, overall, I have so enjoyed them all. The author is gifted in creating characters that you feel like you know and love; even characters like Oliver who are not so nice sometimes. I was involved in each book of the series and Daylighters is no exception. When I finished reading it, I felt that it ended well and I was not disappointed. A little sad that it was over, but not disappointed in the way it ended. I hope the author is proud if her body of work in the Morganville series. I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it.

This book was really good! I loved the ending with Claire and Shane getting married and also Eve and Michael getting married for real. I am really sad that this was the last book of the series. This book series is my absolute favorite series. Thank you Rachel Caine for writing this amazing book series.

First thank you Rachael for not leaving us hanging. You understand we are a part of Morganville too. It's sad that it is the conclusion to the series but oh what a ride it has been. Excellent read.

I'm going to miss checking in on Morganville. It's unique residents, paranormal activity and twisted adventures of the main characters have kept me entertained for years. With that being said, I was very anxious to start this book knowing that it was the final installment. This definitely wasn't my favorite Morganville book, but I kept trying to remind myself that the author was wrapping everything up to give her followers some closer by the end. Aside from a very few moments that made me gasp (and those were resolved almost instantaneously), there wasn't much surprise or suspense that I've come to enjoy from the previous books. Because of that I was a bit let down. This books picks up exactly where Bitter Blood ended bringing our main characters back to Morganville only to find it has undergone some major changes. The Daylighters have taken control, imprisoning all of the vampires making the town "safe" once again. The leader claims to have found a cure to reform the bloodsuckers, but he holds a personal vendetta and his success rate is extremely low. Claire and her friends must decide who the true monster is before innocent "lives" are lost forever. I enjoyed the fact that the roles were reversed in this book making the humans the actual evil enemy. I love the fact that all of the favorite characters from the very beginning (Claire, Michael, Shane, Eve, Oliver, Amelie, Myrnin, the house, Monica and even beady eyed little Bob) were given their fair share of scenes. The four Glass House residents have surely grown and matured throughout the series. I will miss Myrnin the most. His incredibly outrageous outfits, unpredictable reasoning and behavior have kept me entertained in each and every book. He definitely didn't let me down in the finale! He will forever remain my favorite psychotic vampire. I wish Caine would have introduced the idea of hellhounds sooner in the series. That part was really intriguing, but got squashed rather quickly. The ending was predictable and a bit too cheerful, but it was a solid conclusion. I love that the author included a track list. Both for this book and songs that represent each character/place. I look forward to listening to them. This is one of my very favorite vampire books and it was incredibly bittersweet to see it come to an end. Caine brought us unforgettable characters, introduced us to an extremely intriguing town, enraptured us with all of the feelings: mystified, nervous, giddy, thrilled, joy and even love. I will miss the witty banter and endless references to tacos. Morganville definitely will stay with me for a very long time!

Love it and hate to see it end. Thank you Rachel for wrapping up the series so nicely, however if you feel the urge we would not oppose more to the series.

Reading this book was very bittersweet for me. Over the course of the past 14 books, I've truly come to love Morganville and the characters and it's sad to have to say goodbye (though I do have the compilation of novellas yet to read, yay!) In this, the final battle, we see a new threat that is more dangerous that it appears. We have situations separating Eve and Michael, and we have a situation putting Shane in a very difficult spot. As always, Claire has to figure out how to work with these conditions to solve the problems. It was an intense ride to get to the end of the book, which I knew would bring me to the end of the series, but it was a great ride as well. I was kept on the edge of my seat, caught myself holding my breath at several points, and I did shed a tear at the end. It's like when a favorite TV show ends, or even when a good friend moves away...I just wasn't ready to say good-bye. A fantastic series and now I find myself eager to read everything else Ms. Caine has written.

"The sun will rise to bring the shadow of darkness. At the death of death the feather of hazel will rise to a ripple, then fall. Flame shall rage and the Chill will make the day bleak. Only the river can put out the flames and make the day bright. And only the sun can melt the chill. But beware for the flame thrives by the sun...."
