Playing in the Blazewrath World Cup with Team Puerto Rico and the Sol de Noche dragons had been Lana Torres’s dream come true—until it turned into a nightmare. To rid the world of the dragon supremacists, Lana and her friends had to cancel the games forever.

About the Author

Amparo Ortiz is the author of Blazewrath Games. She was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but she currently lives on the country’s northeastern coast. Her short story comic, “What Remains in The Dark,” appears in the Eisner Award–winning anthology Puerto Rico Strong (Lion Forge, 2018), and Saving Chupie, her middle grade graphic
novel, is forthcoming from HarperCollins. When she’s not teaching ESL to her college students, she’s teaching herself Korean, devouring as much pizza and as many Twizzlers as she can, and writing about Latinx characters in worlds both contemporary and fantastical.

Lana thought that all she had to worry about were the Dragon Knights—until she learned about the Dragonblood Ring.

Lana is finally back home in Puerto Rico, but unfortunately, Dragon Knights are still out there: They need the magic of the Sol de Noche dragons to bring their master, the Sire, back. Lana and her Blazewrath team must stay hidden on the island until things are safe. However, when Victoria overhears one of their bodyguards talking about dragon trappers popping up in nearby Cuba and the Dominican Republic, she knows she must investigate—which means working with Lana, no matter how much they butt heads. Lana grabs Victoria and dives headfirst into a Transport Charm, compliments of an unsuspecting Director Sandhar. They land in Le Parc Du Chasseurs, a dragon arena in France, in the middle of a secret Dragonblood match. Picking up immediately where Blazewrath Games (2020) ended, this entry is exciting from the outset.
