Eric often forgets he's a cyborg. All Lucy sees in the mirror is a killing machine.

Marine Lance Corporal Eric Anderson tended to forget he was a cyborg. Most of the time he didn't give his past as a military machine any thought. He'd always lived by his human gut, not his logic chip, so thinking outside of the cybernetic box was just how he worked.

Then he met her--Evelyn 489--a female cyborg so erratically dangerous she has to be kept locked away. Angry, violent, and full of deadly intentions, she epitomizes every fear about cyber scientists that ever kept him awake at night. Until he gave into his urge to be her hero, the woman didn't know she used to be Army Captain Lucille Evelyn Pennington.

Though Peyton is full of doubts, Eric is compelled to help Kyra and Nero restore the woman who once liked to be called Lucy. It doesn't help his cause that several people seem determined to kill her.

This is a science fiction and fantasy series that takes place in the not too distant future. These Cyborg romance heroes are genetically engineered military men who have been cybernetically imprisoned after a near-apocalyptic global war. The heroine in Book 1 appears briefly in every book as one by one she and her team attempt to restore each soldier's humanity. Each book in the series deals with a different restored cyborg. Each story also contains lots of action and adventure, some violence and language, and hopefully a few laughs along the way.

Wow! The storyline continues to be excellent and entertaining from beginning to end. Once again, the storyline grabs my attention and never letting go, even when the story ends, I wanted more. Peyton & Kyra (Book 1); Kingston and Seetha (Book 2); Marcus & Rachel (Book 3) and now Eric & Lucy (Book 4), each of the storylines were good. Now, I have to wait for William (due out on 19th of July), grrr, too long, but if its anything like the previous 4 books I know it will be good. I usually stay within either historical western romance, contemporary and sometimes reading books about shifters, now I am adding this type of genre to my list of must have/must read. (When I saw Donna McDonald's name on this genre of books, I recalled the 1st book I read of hers, "Dating A Cougar, which I read and thought was good, so I decided to read Peyton 313, boy am I glad I did.) The storyline is great, HEA ending to another excellent storyline. Enjoy. HAPPY READING! ******vrnb*******

Only bad thing about this book is I have to wait for the next installment. I would like to see how Steve and Vincent are doing.

This might be my favorite book in the series so far. This series seems to be more heavy on the scifi than the romance, which is ok but I do like a balance of both and Eic and Lucy's story seemed to have that balance. Donna McDonald has done a great job with the details of the Cyborgs and what they can do I almost wish there were more fighting scenes to truly enjoy that part of this story. What you are getting is the cyborgs being recovered and restored to free them from the evil scientist that have abused their power over them. I do think the author may be headed towards an epic battle though. I would recommend reading in order even though these could stand on their own. You get pieces of the bigger picture with each book and my fascination is growing with each piece that is unlocked. This book series would make a great tv series. ARC provided by NetGalley.

This was a page turner I had trouble putting down. I wanted to stay awake to finish it but when 3am rolled around I and my e-reader needed to shut down for a recharge…kind of like the cyborgs in the book. A cyborg (short for "cybernetic organism") is a being with both organic and biomechatronic body parts. That is just what many of the characters in this series are…part human with additional components that they were not born with. They have been used and abused and seek a better future for themselves and others like them and that is what the team at Norton are doing their best to achieve. The story of Eric and Lucy is compelling and drew me in from the beginning. Eric has been driven to help Evelyn 489 since first meeting her. Once he retrieves her name he heads out to inform her of it and in so doing triggers something unexpected. The programming she begins to follow causes Eric some trouble at first but because he has grown to care for her, does not want to take advantage of her and wants what is ultimately in her best interest he does all he can to see that she will have a better future. Marcus, Peyton and King make an appearance or two with their significant others, Will Talon shows up for a bit, Nero-a new male cyborg scientist is introduced, two female cyborgs-Aja and Meara-make an appearance, one of the bad guys is dealt with while Master Omega is perhaps hinted at more clearly…at least I have a feeling *I* know who it might be…and hints are made for potential future books in the series. I just downloaded Peyton 313, first in the series - currently free on some sites, and having read books two and three look forward to reading it before book five is released. This is a series with a world of its own that makes sense in ways that many sci-fi futuristic books sometimes do not. I applaud Ms McDonald for the world and characters she has created. My hope is that at some point all the cyborgs will get their HEA and the world they live in will become a better safer place than it seems to have been and continues to be for many of them. Thank you to NetGalley and the author for the copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Phew. I was really looking forward to this story. And I wasn't disappointed at all. Eric and Lucy's story was awesome and has to be the best one so far for me. I love the new characters as well. The suspense keeps you on edge the entire time! I am so excited to see what else happens in this series! I love it!

Like the rest of this series I fell in love with this book from page one and didn't want to stop reading until the book was done. I'm loving how the author combines sci-fi and romance in the same book. She has done a wonderful job with the storyline and keeping my interest. I loved seeing more new characters introduced and hope to learn more about them in future reads. If you like sci-fi and romance this is a good read for you
