A great beginning to a new series with K9 dogs as the focus and their rescue. Ethan was a trainer and handler when stationed and his first assignment is to find and retrieve Sentry, a vet dog that has been “missing” and needs to be found. He gets the request from Badger, and ends up while looking for Sentry, finding another dog in bad shape. When he brings her to the vet’s, he also meets Cinnamon, a woman who also loves animals, especially dogs, and has a business that finds families to adopt dogs. While Ethan continues his search for Sentry, he finds a shady business, bringing bad news to his front door and inadvertently dragging Cinnamon into the dangerous situation as well...can he help the dogs as well as Cinnamon. A great read with a slow burn between these two, a bit of steam, danger, some suspense, and melting heart scenes with all the dogs. I loved this beginning, Ethan was quiet, strong, and had a way with the dogs and Cinnamon didn’t beat around the bush and was a strong resilient woman. These two had sparks flying off the pages and I enjoyed their banter, along with the suspense and danger, made it page turner and a book I couldn’t put down. *I voluntarily read an advanced copy and expressed my honest opinion*

Ethan was struggling to find his place and his purpose after his military career. He agrees to a request from Badger to search for one of a number missing former military K9s. Before he can find K9-01 as he'd decided to call him, Ethan finds an abused female shepherd that he refuses to let suffer any more. Having been part of the K-9 unit in the military, he feels that he has the training and is determined that he can help "Sally" and also find the ones responsible for hurting her. Ethan also meets Cinn, another dog lover, and is drawn to her and feels a connection to another person that he hasn't felt in a while. As they get to know each other and he looks for K9-01, someone targets Cinn and Ethan has to find a way to keep her safe.

Oh my gosh.. I have so much respect for the men, women, and dogs that serve, and this book was outstanding! Ethan is on a mission of sorts.. he's going to try and locate a war dog, and check on it's wellbeing. He finds the dog and meets Cinn, a woman who helps rescue and rehome dogs from all over the world. Sentry was a well trained war dog, but he's been abused and tormented. It's up to Ethan to try to win over Sentry, and let him be the amazing creature he started out as. So much love for this book! I really love the idea of this series; what happens to our K9 veterans. Ethan is at a crossroads in life on an uncertain path to his future, but a chance mission may just lead him to where he is meant to be. I really enjoyed Ethan and Cinnamon together. They had such great chemistry. Plus Cinnamon has such strength that will match perfectly with Ethan. I loved Ethan's passion for the dogs. I really loved the scenes with him working with the dogs. It's like magic with what he can do. It gives these animals hope. It really broke my heart to see what they were exposed to. This book is well rounded. It has heat, heart, humor, and suspense that at times kept me on the edge of my seat. I can't wait to read to more from this series.

WOW! What a fantastic new series!! I love everything about it! I was totally captivated from the very beginning. This story grabs your heart and doesn’t let go. I enjoyed all the descriptive and informative details about the area and about the K9 Unit as a whole as well as the individual dogs, their training and the commands used. I love the heart of this story. It’s all about the dogs and their journey from trained military dogs to becoming retired or discharged military vets. They are still good dogs, well trained and very confused. This is such an in-depth and intriguing story. Cinn has the skills and connections to help dogs in need from all over the world while Ethan has the touch and instinct to train and handle even the most difficult dogs he comes across. This story puts you right there where all the action is. You can feel the heat and almost taste the dust when Cinn must improvise or get captured. This is definitely a rapid page turner! You won’t put this book down until you find out what happens! I am excited for this series and can hardly wait to start book two! Excellent job! I loved it!

4.5 Stars This is book 1 In the K-9 Files series and it features Ethan and Cinn. These two have a quick, strange friendship with an implied attraction. Any other book would have had me pulling my hair out at the slow pace of their romance but considering his personality, state of mind and her sort of prickly (not sure that’s the correct word to describe her) personality, their romance moved at the perfect pace. The story line was so good, full of action and adventure, that the romance took a back seat until much later in the book. The dogs were awesome and Ethan confidence in working with them was exciting. I love the concept and this first book in the series hits the mark! The story line has great flow and the characters are all mostly familiar from other series. I can’t wait to see what adventure the next book takes us on.

Ethan a K9 handler has been asked to look for a missing war hero canine. She has gone missing and the War Dept is worried about her. Cinnamon is a warm hearted lady that loves rescuing and finding homes for homeless dogs. Throw in strange activity at the place down the road, a kidnapping and drugs before you know it you have a major problem on your hands. Cinnamon is caught in the middle of it all, when the bullets start to fly. I will not give a spoiler. You will have a hard time putting the book down. I did because of the you just have to see what is going to happen next. I love Dale Mayer books. She never disappoints I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Ethan by Dale Mayer The K9 Files Book One Ethan Nebberly has always been somewhat of a loner, but since he's been out of the military...he's even more so. It's been tough. He'd lost his K9 partner...and his leg. When Badger asks him to help hunt down some former War Dogs, Ethan takes on the job. He soon finds something to look forward to again. Cinnamon “Cinn” Michelson loves helping dogs. So much so, she helps find dogs home that are from some of the foreign countries. When a new guy comes to town and finds an injured shepherd, she wants to make sure the dog is well taken care of. Not in the hands of some drifter who can't even take care of himself. War Dogs aren't your average pets. They've been trained as soldiers. In the wrong hands...they are a dangerous weapon. Add abuse to these beautiful creatures and Ethan has his hands full. Great story. Loved reading about the dogs. Looks like this is going to be another page-turning series. **Sensual content and language

I absolutely loved this book. It was so true to life. The story is about the main character being assigned to go in search of a dog who has served in a war. The dog has been sent home either due to injury, PTSD and/or illness and has been assigned to someone who is supposed to care for the dog and keep the dog for their own. But, for some reason, the dog has been lost. Things are not easy in the search for the dog but the main character is determined to protect the dog and the ensuing story keeps you guessing and has you rooting for the K9 and the main character. This book grabs your attention and doesn't let go! What an awesome start to a great series about an awesome subject! If you love dogs and action you will love this book!! Love, Love, Love this new series by Dale Mayer from our Badgers group of Seals and their new company Titanium Corp, that employees former seals, who in this series is searching for K-9 units that the government has lost track of after their return home. This one has Ethan, a former K-9 handler and trainer searching for Sentry. He crosses paths with Cinnamon who works from her house and is actively involved in global dog rescues. This book touches all the bases, and can be enjoyed by multiple age groups. Suspense, K-9, romance, former seals, our wonderful friends, Levi, Anna, Flynn , who if you haven't met before you will definitely want to go read their own stories. Cinnamon is one intelligent, thoughtful, gutsy women and I loved how she took on each issue with calm and logic. Her banter with Ethan made me smile. His calmness as he took on aggressive dogs taught to harm was inspiring and his willingness to show all dogs can be re-homed if taught correctly made my day. You do not want to miss this series if you love former seals, dogs and their women! Thank you Dale Mayer, thank you Booksprout for this incredible arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

A fantastic new series with mentions of characters from other series, I know I'm going to love it. Former war dogs need to be found, they retired from service and deserve a better life. With their former handlers dead or injured they are lost in the cracks. Ethan is our first hero determined to find this missing K9, he's a dog whisperer and these dogs could be killers. Such an interesting plot and engaging characters, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Let's hear it for the War Dogs! Our Titanium crew from SEALs of Steel are branching out, and this new venture starts with recruiting other vets to help track down a dozen War Dogs whose retirement situations may not be what they should be. Ethan is first up as he is assigned to find out what happened to Sentry. He first tracks another injured shepherd mix and rescues her, and takes her to the local vet where he meets Cinnamon, a fellow animal lover who spends her spare time rescuing dogs from war-torn areas overseas. Ethan has extensive training as a K9 handler and trainer, so he knows exactly how to reach the injured shepherd, as well as her fellow guard dogs at the drug lab that he tracked her from. Light on the romance but heavy on the action, this romantic suspense tale is filled with non-stop heart-pounding moments as Ethan and Cinn work to keep these dogs safe from those who view them only as weapons. As much as the goal is to settle the dogs into a good situation, we also see that Ethan likewise needs a new goal and purpose in life, one he finds with these dogs and with Cinn. It's a sweet romance that will warm the heart of any dog-lover. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This new series (which is an offshoot of other wonderful Navy Seals stories written by Dale Mayer) starts with Ethan agreeing to try and find a lost K9 named Sentry. Ethan started his search not realizing he would come up against ruthless men in a drug operation and he would endanger Cinnamon his new friend as well. In the process of finding Sentry, Ethan did not only meet a new friend but also reunited with old friends. The book moves quickly enough that I couldn't put it down. I was a bit concerned about starting a book with dogs as they can easily pull at my heartstrings but this story is well done and I'm really looking forward to the next in the series which is about Pierce and another search for a missing K9.

A great new series by Dale Mayer The books are about the K-9 War Dogs that have fallen through the cracks and the men who are looking for the dogs. The Titanium Group (Seals of Steel) has been asked to find and check on them. Ethan is a former Navy K-9 trainer and handler, he has been recovering form injuries received in the line of duty. He is now searching for one of the War Dogs that is missing, along the way he finds an injured Shepard who he helps and meets up with some old friend and make new ones. Cinn is an animal lover who volunteers for a national animal rescue group with dogs of her own. Ethan and Cinn together are great and you will fall in love with all the dogs in this book. The story flows and you just want to keep reading until you finish the book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I knew going into this that the dogs would touch my heart, they have already been through so much. Their training is tough, and for those who have served in military they have also seen and suffered much just with that. Many have lost their training partners, been shipped home and virtually forgotten. Ending up with people who don't care about them or only in as what those dogs can do for them. Ethan cares, it shows in everything he does and how he treats them, also in how they respond to him. Cinn loves dogs as well so this is a match made in heaven, they just have to go through some pretty nasty stuff to get there. Suspenseful and action packed story that is equal parts human and dog, there is some violence and some tense moments to keep you on edge. Mostly this is about relationships, human and canine, trust and love as well as training and commands, it is a learning curve for all but so worth it all in the end. Loving this new series that is an extension of the previous ones, taking the security business along another route, still linking with Badger, Levi, Flynn and the others which is great. To see these all helping each other as needed and cropping up in all the various series means continuation of the original stories I fell in love with. This has a fast pace and an originality of plot that is interesting and a bit edgy, I loved getting lost in reading it and learning more about these dogs who help keep us all safe in their respective careers.

The start of a new series. Heroes, Navy SEALS who can no longer serve due to life changing injuries, find a new mission. K9 soldiers, dogs trained for military service, have been retired and now are missing. Ethan is the first SEAL to look for a missing dog, K9:01. The goal: to find the dog and to make sure he is safe, whether in an appropriate home or working for good. Ethan is a former K9 trainer and a dog lover. He meets Cinn, a dog rescuer. The two meet challenges and obstacles to make rescue their dog and more. Dale Mayer, author of the series SEALS of Steel, Heroes for Hire, and SEALS of Honor, has another great series emerging. This book follows SEALS of Steel and there are a few characters from these other series. These are stand alone books (and wonderful). The characters are rich and inspiring, the plot page turning (yes, I missed sleep to find out what happened next), and am eager to read the next book (and the next and the next . . .). I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
