5 Addicting Stars!!....I need more Ryder and Syn!! I am a new reader to the Fae world but, I have to say Amelia has me HOOKED. I NEED BOOK TWO, like yesterday! I really like Syn, she is for sure a badass. Best witch in the Guild and she likes to kick ass and take names! She absolutely despises the Fae, but when the Dark Fae request her services she has no choice but to help him. Bound by contact that her badass self got her into she is Owned by Ryder(the dark Prince). Just to say that this book is steamy is an understatement. IT IS HOTT and then keeps getting HOTTER. This book has a great story line and leaves me wanting more!! When I think I know Ryder, I find out I don’t. WHAT is he hiding? I have a feeling that some of the characters already know who their Sire is. There is a killer on the loose killing witches and Fae alike, very gruesome murders. It is Syn’s mission to bring the puppet master out and take him down. Not all goes her way and people will get hurt. But, the big question for me is, HOW BAD WILL SYN GET HURT??????? How will she cope when whatever Ryder is hiding is exposed???? I am really hoping for a happy ever after with these two!! Meanwhile all the killings are going on, Syn is dealing with something very personal and she’s not sure if she will like who she is becoming. Fighting Destiny does end with a pretty big cliff hanger if you ask me and again, leaves you wanting more!! Patiently waiting for book two -Ashley Christin, Blogger at Fiction's Our Addiction

Okay, honestly, this not really the kind of book I read. I am more of a mystery with a dab of hot guy and romance. This book took me out of my comfort zone. However, I really liked it. The characters are real and magical and of course there is a ton of action. And, just enough dirty parts that it was not overdone. I am going to be reading the next book.

This book was really, really good. It has fairies, witches, magic, sex, mystery and vampires too. It was a rollercoaster ride and I could not put it down. The cliffhanger ending is making me wish August would come a little faster. Fantastic first book from thos author.

This new author is so talented. The storyline is full of mystery and keeps the characters pull you into their lives and experiences. Ryder and Synthia are two strong and developed characters. I felt like I was in the story watching it all happen. I couldn't put the book down! The ending....OMG...I can't wait to read the next book. Can't come out quick enough!! This promises to be a great series. I am recommending this author to all my book friends.

I don’t read a lot of novels with Fae, that aren’t strictly Fantasy stories. This is a very very very HOT erotic romance, which is also so well written that I couldn’t put it down. I fell in love with Ryder and Synthia. Ryder is this sexy Alpha character, and Syn brought out these protective instincts and I just wanted to root for her. The descriptions were so well done, I felt like I was in the story that it was happening around me. This is a new author, and if this is her first book out of the gate, she’s going to do great. Seriously this is a great story for a debut author. The characters are very well fleshed out, the world is well established and the sex, well it’s off the charts HOT! I will definitely pick up more from this author and think everyone should read this story.

But mediocre writing and a lame, immature heroine ruined it. Syn is a witch, a supposedly good Enforcer and head of a coven, except she's not disciplined, has an ego and chip on her shoulder. Even a sad back story can't save her, because it's all about her. "I could have done something." Uh, not at five, stop using the tragedy as a shield for your ineptitude. Later on, when she is injured at a crime scene where people are killed, she is concerned Ryder, a dark Fae, might see her bra! There are multiple instances of that. Combine that with a puerile attitude, use of terms like 'monkey butt' and you wonder if Ryder is a pedometer because he wants her. When she makes some (obvious) points at a crime scene, ppl treat her as if she' a brilliant special snowflake even though what she did was Nancy Drew 101, so are the Fae really clueless? The writing fell short and was often not as clear as it should have been when trying to describe intricacies in the world, there were many errors, cheesy terms, ('slick heat' trope), duplicate words to describe something within a sentence or two, (push in chapter 6 for instance), and of course the description... I simply ply cannot STAND being told what a great writer you are that you're going to make undies wet. Talk about the height of arrogance... and it wasn't deserved either. The sex scenes and tension were meh. The overuse of some adjectives, the protracted, 'tell me I own you/you want me', 'no', back and forth, ad nauseum... was tiresome. Ryder also had a Dristan AND Ristan, and magic was too conveniently used as a deus ex machina device sometimes, but then restrictive or selective other times. There wasn't cohesion. Things did become a little more solid towards the end, but that was partly because the dark hints about the Fae and Ryder, (and his character), became a bit more interesting. Syn's reaction to tragedy at the end, when people needed her, just highlighted her self absoption; many people have experienced tragedy and loss there, yet she didn't behave like a leader, merely wallowing for days in her own sorrow. It's too bad because the world building and conflict could have been interesting.

I loved the mystery and paranormal components of this book. They take you to another world. The characters are solid with real personalities and realistic dialog. The steamy sex also helps you move through the pages. Good job.

OH! MY! GOD! This book is awesome!! I couldn't put it down...stayed up late, sneaked in some reading while at work...just had to keep reading. Excellent story, loved it from the very first page! It's like the Paranormal version of Fifty Shades of Grey. I will warn you, the sex content if VERY explicitive (some may say vulgar) but if that doesn't bother you then you need to read this book.

Amazing story, the entire series has left me wanting more! Such an amazing world this author has created. I know a lot have said it's like the Fever series, but it's a complete different storyline, with characters that come alive and make you want to kiss, throttle, smack, and do very, very good things with. I love the Demon and all of the secondary characters as well. Wow, is all I can say! For those who think it's too similar to the Fever series, please, read it again without looking for the similarities. I had to remove the thought of it, and I was shocked at how much it wasn't like it. Keep in mind, I had to remove all thoughts of the Fever series from my mind and keep an open mind while I read it. By book 2 I was hooked. By book 3, I realized this is in no way anything close to the Fever series, it's so much more!

Loved it!!!! I loved it! It's NOTHING like the Fever series though! It's only connection being the Fae, I seen no connection, but I did love this book! Great debut book for this author, and I'm heading into book 2! Do not disturb, reading!

What a hidden gem this book is! Seriously, anyone who's followed me on this site knows that I love good, unique adaptations of already much loved fantasy subjects such as the Fae. While do tend to give any book I pick up a fighting chance, I'm always skeptical about whether an author will be able to pull off their new world or twist on established myths, legends, or fairy tales. Amelia Hutchins did a rather good job at it though! I very much enjoyed her world where the Fae have come out to the human population. They play at being the fantastical beautiful species to the public while hiding their very dangerous side in the shadows. A witch named Synthia - Syn for short - knows better than anyone though just how dangerous the Fae can be. They murdered her parents in a rather horrific way unknowingly in front of her. To say that she has a burning hatred for the Fae could be an understatement. She is very much a loner, but has let a few people into her life. She has two best friends that are part of a coven and a dead lover she still mourns although he's been gone for years now. This book starts off with Syn on a mission by her witch's Order to break into the Dark Prince of the Fae's place and steal his crown. It's insanely dangerous and she's skeptical that she'll make it out alive. Syn manages to make it out of the Prince Ryder's house, but it's sans the crown and now tethered to the Fae in ways she really wishes she wasn't. This book's plot line moves along quickly and smoothly, and I found myself gobbling it up in a day. Ryder is an a-hole of epic proportions with hidden motives, but he's a sexy SOB that makes you wish the entire book that he wasn't such an a-hole. Syn is smart, snarky and intriguing. With plenty of steamy scenes, lots of twists and turns, and a nicely built world with interesting supporting characters, Fighting Destiny is an enjoyable read for anyone who likes Paranormal Romance/Paranormal Erotic Romance. Kudos to Hutchins for an enjoyable and I can't wait for the book's sequel, which I do believe is scheduled to come out around August of this year.

Although it is indeed a very intriguing story line unfortunately it is poorly edited and poor written. I found it repetitive at times especially when switching from points of veiw. It was also inconsistent when doing so. There were numerous spelling and grammatical errors as well. All those things aside it is an interesting story line and worth a read if you are okay with amateur authors and all that entails.

Great storyline steeped in paranormal myths and legends with lots of action, suspense, tension and steamy scenes. The problem is that there were so many errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar that it really took away from that great storyline. The tale had me hooked, but I kept getting snagged on the mistakes, often losing the flow because I had to mentally correct what was written on the page. A few errors can be overlooked, but this had a LOT. A good edit and a couple of proofreads would have caught 95% of the errors; the others had to do with some (minor) inconsistencies in character dialogue, behavior, and provided background info. It's a shame, really, because this book has the potential to be spectacular instead of just really good. That being said, I will probably get the next in the series anyway to find out what happens (yes, be warned, it IS a cliffhanger).

I really loved this book. It grabs you right from the beginning and makes just keep on reading. Between solving the murder mystery and waiting to see what will eventually happen with Syn and Ryder I finished the book in 2 sittings I've read all 3 books and can't wait for more of the series to come out.

Awesome book, I would recommend reading this to anyone who loves a good old fashioned good vs. evil storyline. A+++

I feel as though the author relied heavily on other author's story lines when writing this book. The writing itself contains millions of grammatical errors, repetitiveness, and at times, unexplained jumps. That said, the story is interesting enough that I'm considering purchasing the next book in the series.

I am hooked to this book series. Ryder is primal and sexual. He is the kind of man we all dream about! This book series is amazing and addicting. I have yet to find a book series as the Fever series by KMM and now I have. Can't wait for the rest of the books in this series to come out!!!

This was such a fun book to read. Smart characters that really pull you in. I can't get enough of all of them. The attraction between Ryder and Synthia is so erotic. If you like Kresley Cole, you will love this series.

This book was so amazing I couldn't put it down. And then I found that there wasn't another book in the series to read. This can't be true, where is the next book ? Where is any book that this author has written? You go girl !!

I really enjoyed this book. The cover is sexy hot. I started reading and could NOT put this down. I love Ryder, Syn, Adam, Ristan, & Z, and all of the side characters were developed and imbedded in the story beautifully. The author created a wonderful world and while reading, I felt as though I was living through it with them. I have a serious book hangover. Looking forward to the next in this series. If you are on the fence about getting this book, well stop thinking and just get the book. Fall in love with Ryder and Syn. You wont regret it.

Syn hates the Fae and everything about them. She has since she was a child. Now as an adult and one of the most powerful Witches around she is told by the Guild her new assignment is to do what the prince of the Fae ask. What he ask is for her to play a decoy of his fiance till they figure out who is killing Witches and Fae. This is a job Syn does not want to do. She has no problem hunting a killer but being around Fae is another thing. Especially a Fae who set her blood on fire even when he isn't playing mind games. Ryder is used to women doing what he says and used to them falling for his mind tricks. Syn has the power to not fall completely under his spell and he is very intrigued. He also wants Syn very much. Things are starting to get real dangerous and a killer is just half the danger. Syn trust no one but her coven. Her two friends are all she has. She is very powerful and can do things most itches can't. She isn't afraid to fight anyone and tries her best to keep her sex drive under control. She hates the Fae but Ryder gets under her skin in a way no one else ever has. Ryder is one powerful Fae who has many secrets, most are secrets we haven't even learned yet. He can be a jerk but you can tell he has a soft spot for Syn even when he tries to hide it. This is one Fae I wouldn't mind Fae fff-- well lets just say I wouldn't mind him messing with my mind any time. Even if he has his bad traits I wouldn't kick him out of bed. I didn't like this book much. I freaking loved it!!! The plot is a great one and has lots of action. As they hunt for a killer you keep trying to guess as who it is and what they are going to do next. Like Syn I was having trouble on knowing who to trust. There was also plenty of twist and turns I did not see coming. Secrets come out but I know there is much more to come. The other part other than the fighting that I loved is the other action between Syn and Ryder. There is so much sexual frustration between these two it frustrates you as well. I will say I even said out loud Come on and do it!! It is definitely worth the read as this is one hot, sexy action packed book. If you love sexy books with amazing characters pick this book up.
