Flower by Elizabeth Craft, Shea Olsen

These are the things that I’ve always wanted:

To get the top grades in my class.

To make my grandmother proud.

And most of all, proof that I could succeed where the rest of my family had not: a Stanford acceptance letter, early admission.

My mother and my sister were obsessed with boys and love and sex. So obsessed that they lost sight of their futures, of what they wanted. And in the end, they lost everything.

I’ll never let a boy distract me. I promised myself that.

But that was before Tate.

Before the biggest pop star on the planet took an interest in me.

Before private planes and secret dates and lyrics meant for me alone.

There’s so much I don’t know. Like why he left music. Where he goes when we’re not together. What dark past he’s hiding. But when we kiss, the future feels far away. And now…I’m not sure what I want.

A fun light read! I received an ARC of this book and it was everything I wanted in a romance. Intense passion and the rollercoaster of most relationships. Tate is sexy and made me hope I might accidentally meet a rockstar in L.A. If you like forbidden love stories, then this one is for you!

This book is so beautifully written! The lyrical lines took me right back to boy crushes and first kisses. Charlotte and Tate are the perfect unlikely couple and I couldn't put their story down! Loved it so much!

Having not been saturated in contemporary YA/NA, I found myself completely immersed in this book that was artfully written by Shea Olsen. The characters held me rapt while the pace propelled from underneath. The romantic tension was reminiscent of Twilight Saga/50 Shades, but there was a pleasant touch of Cruel Intentions in the heroine Charlotte that the aforementioned lacked. I applaud Shea's nerve in tackling a character in these circumstances, because that line between a strong and weak character is a thin one, and I think she nailed it.

Oh, the swoooooooon! This is the perfect escapist read. You'll be swept away into the world of sunny L.A. and famous people and first kisses that make you weak in the knees. I loved every page.

Loved this book. A fun, quick read. Fans of PPL and vampire diaries will devour this one.
