Footsteps in Time: A Time Travel Fantasy by Sarah Woodbury

In December of 1282, English soldiers ambushed and murdered Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the Prince of Wales. His death marked the end of Wales as an independent nation and the beginning of over seven hundred years under the English boot.

Footsteps in Time is the story of what might have happened had Llywelyn lived.

And what happens to the two teenagers who save him.

About the Author

With two historian parents, Sarah couldn't help but develop an interest in the past. She went on to get more than enough education herself (in anthropology) and began writing fiction when the stories in her head overflowed and demanded she let them out. Her interest in Wales stems from her own ancestry and the year she lived in England when she fell in love with the country, language, and people. She even convinced her husband to give all four of their children Welsh names.

She makes her home in Oregon.

I loved this book. Read Daughter of Time first (FREE). This book and Prince of Time do come in a bundle, so you'll save a little if you get them that way. I have since read the rest of the series so far through Exiles in Time. I hope she is going to write more. They were all real page turners. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I read 7 books in less than 2 weeks (I did have to go to work and sleep). I'm as addicted to them as I am to Diana Gabaldon's Outlander series. I like books about history, time travel and romance, and this series didn't disappoint. There was enough suspense in them that you didn't know for sure what was going to happen. There were some funny parts when Meg or her son David took someone back to their future time. When they were in medieval Wales and England, I felt like I was there. I didn't know much about 13th Century Wales (or modern day Wales for that matter), so I learned some things. It was interesting. I would recommend this whole series to anyone who likes any of these genre, and to those who don't necessarily like them, but want to give it a try. I'm glad I read them, and will be posting this review for each of the books in the series, just in case someone finds one of the others first. It's best to read them in order: Daughter of Time (prequel), Footsteps in Time (Book One), Winds of Time (between book 1 & 2), Prince of Time (Book Two), Crossroads in Time (Book Three), Children of Time (Book Four) and Exiles in Time.

Thought this book was great. I hadn't read anything set in medieval Wales before and now I want more. It's fun, time travel fantasy appropriate for readers of any age.

A very wonderful, page-turner, quick read. Makes a great introduction to Medieval Welsh and English historical fiction. Wonderful selection for an easy read on a rainy weekend - especially for young readers.

GREAT story that had me so enthralled, I was shocked when it ended. Not at what happened at the end, just that it ended at all! So glad there is a second book!! Chuck full of Welsh history, language, and information WITHOUT sounding like a history lesson. Then, of course, it could have all been made up, how would I know? LOL...Book flowed smoothly despite so many words and names I couldn't pronounce.

I loved and enjoyed listening to the captivating, intriguing, outstanding audio version I received free from the wonderfully, talented author Sarah Woodbury. As Anna and David are driving through a snowstorm in present time, they time travel back to 1282 and end of saving the prince of Wales, Llywelyn. Later, Llywelyn reveals that he was David's father, had met Anna when she was a child, and their mother, Meg. Anna and David have to learn how to live and fit into this time period. I love the After Climeri series and am currently reading the newest novel Guardians of Time. Read and/or listen to the highly recommended audio version with engaging voices and compelling characters.

If you love romantic & funny historical time travel books as I do then you will enjoy this series. I have only read the first one and I am now half way through the second, have enjoyed them very much. I love the ones that take you back in time which tell a funny romantic story and can make you feel as if you are there with the description of the places and people. Keep up the wonderful writing. I will follow Sarah Woodbury from now on!

Sarah Woodbury has written a wonderful, engrossing tale of family, love and betrayal, and combined it all with interesting historical facts. I have fallen in love with Wales and the After Cilmeri characters. Can't wait for the next book in the series!

If you are looking for a romance story you have the wrong book.  If you are looking for a slightly altered history of Wales you have chosen the right book.
