J.E. Nicassio writes the kind of close encounter that will leave readers spellbound. When high school junior, Samantha Hunter, and her father move to New Mexico, it’s a chance to leave tragedy behind and start over. However, the arrival of a dark-haired stranger changes everything. Lucien introduces Sam to the prospect of enjoying life again, and to the hidden world of aliens. But crazier than that, Lucien doesn’t feel entirely like a stranger. Redemption and romance follow Sam in her new life as she works to understand the alien-human romance she’s developing—a romance that feels beyond her control. There’s something bigger happening around her, and to her, too, and this is just the beginning…. —J. E. Nicassio packs in the action like a superhero movie— From the Sky has all the hallmarks of a Hollywood blockbuster—ready to light up the sky like a fleet of UFOs. “A must read! Reviewed by Susan Sewell for Readers' Favorite A tragic experience on a lonely stretch of road alters the life of a young teenage girl in the sensational young adult science fiction novel, From the Sky by Jennie Nicassio. While driving and texting, Samantha Hunter and her twin brother Finn are in a fatal car accident. An unidentified man miraculously saves Sam, but Finn is killed instantly. Still grieving six months later, Sam's mother succumbs to her depression and is laid to rest next to Finn's still fresh grave. During her mother's funeral service, Sam sees a stranger across from her at the cemetery and is curious about him, but he disappears before she can discover his identity. Soon after her mother's funeral, Sam's archaeologist father takes a position with a New Mexico university, and together they leave Pittsburgh and their former lives behind. As Sam adjusts to her new life, she keeps running into the stranger from her mother's funeral. Who is he? Why is he stalking her? From the Sky by Jennie Nicassio is a thrilling science fiction novel. It has a magnificent plot rife with beings from other worlds and government alien conspiracies. The New Mexico setting with the conspiracy angles surrounding Dulce, Groom Lake, and Area 51 is not only perfect but also educational. I knew about some of the subterfuge and secrets of the region, but was astounded by how much more there was to the rumors. The author has done an exceptional job of incorporating the facts and data of her research into the plot and developing a brilliant novel. This is the first in a series, and I can't wait to read the subsequent otherworldly adventures that Sam experiences. Young adults and older readers who love science fiction novels based on extraterrestrials living among us will find this series a must-read.

Let me preface by saying I am not a Sci-Fi reader. I primarily stick with suspense writers so this was a new genre for me to try. Since i prefer page-turners, I wasn't expecting to enjoy an alien story at all but since I've set a goal to try new authors every week, I thought 'why not?'. Now confession time - I absolutely loved this book!! A good writer makes you envision every scene just like you are watching a movie & I actually thought- why this could actually be the beginnings of the next big movie similar to the Divergent or Hunger Games books!! J. E. Nicassio has changed me over to the world of Sci-Fi reading and I honestly had trouble putting the book down. Talk about a page-turner, it held my interest the whole way through the book. I remember, at one point, reading & thinking to myself 'I can't wait to review this book", I was that surprised by the good read. Thank you for opening my eyes to a new genre and I can only hope I enjoy other Sci-Fi writers are as much as I did your work!! I seriously cannot wait for the next in the series!!! You have a new fan J. E. Nicassio!!!... and I hope to see this made into a movie in the future!!

‘From the Sky’ written by J.E. Nicassio is a nice YA surprise, delivering great combination of SF with romance motives and few drops of conspiracy theory – the result is believable story full of action that younger reader will highly enjoy. The book begins with main character - Samantha Hunter – losing her twin brother in a car accident. This would only be beginning of sad things in her life, because only several months later her mother is going to die and she remains only with her father. They are going to move from Pittsburgh to New Mexico, trying to start new life. Samantha is going to meet guy named Lucien Foster, who though new to her somehow feels so familiar. Samantha is firstly a bit nervous when it comes to Lucien because of his sudden showing up, but soon the unbelievable truth is going to be revealed in front of her eyes – Lucien will show her the whole new world, some fantastic powers she only read about or watch in movies. And though all of it seems so appealing, especially as Samantha grows closer Lucien, in same time she is afraid what is going to happen in the future… ‘From the Sky’ is a book that with its interesting premise will be appealing to teens and YA people all around the globe, though equally good part of book are its characters, both Samantha and Lucien, enabling reader to become part of this exciting story. The result is story full of strong emotions and doubts, chases and action that overall makes reading of this book a powerful and unforgettable experience. Therefore, though I was asking myself being the right person for reading it, J.E. Nicassio with her book managed to hook me completely and I could not recommend it enough for YA lovers – the author wrote a story that you could read few times and then recommend to all your friends to do the same. I was given a copy of this book by the author for the purpose of unbiased review, while all the presented information is based on my impressions.

Reviewed by Ray Simmons for Readers' Favorite From the Sky is a delightful young adult novel by J.E. Nicassio. This exciting book is a blend of government conspiracy novel and sci-fi with a strong element of romance. Samantha Hunter is a very wounded teenager. Her twin brother Finn is killed in a car accident one night and Sam is charged with driving while texting. Sam herself is almost killed in the accident and her mother dies soon after. Sam thinks this is all her fault and the guilt is tearing her apart. Sam and her dad need a change. They need a new lease on life so they move from Pennsylvania to New Mexico. But the past, particularly that fateful accident, follows Samantha to New Mexico in the form of Lucien Foster, a tall handsome boy that Sam finds herself drawn to despite her pain and guilt. From the Sky is at its core a teenage romance and we get a good look at young love and what it means to love when everything seems to be against you. Lucien is not what he seems and when he reveals the truth of who he is to Samantha, her world is changed forever. These are great characters that are realistically portrayed. They are American teenagers who have to grow up fast because dark forces are out to get them. J.E. Nicassio gives us a past paced and exciting tale full of car chases, close calls, and the angst of star-crossed love. Teens and even older readers will love From the Sky.
