The words, unusual, tenacity, perception and dogged determination come to mind when describing Ghost of the Stream. What started out as two fishing boat sinkings within the Devil's Triangle developed into a challenging adventure for two teenagers: Tuck Fryer, Billy Jim Hamilton, his mother, Hannah, and the surviving pilot, Jonesy, of the Lost Patrol. Stranded on an unusual island that appears to defy the Laws of Nature, and wears about it a clandestine cloak of mystery and secrecy; the four inhabitants are plunged into a variety of activities. With ample fresh water, fruit, and seafood, their creature comforts are well taken care of leaving them free to explore the island. Among their discoveries are that the island is man made, holds a treasure trove of inventions and riches and played a major role in the South Atlantic during WWII. Ghost of the Stream is an example of the character folks especially teenagers in the thirties and forties, their talents, abilities and strengths: all of which are needed to survive the Ghost Additionally anyone interested in the Nazi's activities in the South Atlantic will find the book entertaining, and filled with facts and figures.
