I was pretty sure the red-headed girl was a ghost. So when the cop showed up, I ignored her.
He wanted to talk with my tia, my Aunt Dolores. Only she was dead. Killed by a bullet shot through the solid wood of her front door. And the girl? Sent by my tia. Only, she was sent after my aunt had died. And Rose was very much alive.
