Lisa Smith's memoir is a must read, a page turner that captures from the opening scene a until the last sentence. Her journey through personal hell brings together two worlds on an inevitable collision course. Ms. Smith is mired personal demons, drug and alcohol addicted but still amazingly able in the high pressured legal community. It is life on a highwire and we root for her to keep from falling.

I absolutely loved Girl Walks Out of a Bar! Lisa Smith's compelling and incredibly honest memoir provides a "behind the scenes" view into addiction in high-pressure corporate law. She keeps nothing from the reader, taking you with her through the highs and lows of her incredible journey from addiction into recovery.

Rarely do I find a book that is a page turner and is also a story with deeper meaning. Lisa Smith's book is a genuinely interesting story and filled with wry humor -- my favorite. At the end I found myself wishing for more. Looking forward to her next book!

Rarely do I come across a book so deep and enlightening that I cannot put down. Lisa Smith’s story is inspiring for those who are somehow affected by substance abuse; whether it is you or someone in your life. Lisa Smith’s story, which includes ups and downs (mostly downs) throughout her childhood and professional life, is relatable to all working professionals - those with an addiction and those without. I read this book in nearly one sitting. Lisa Smith keeps the reader engaged through her remarkable storytelling and dark humor. There were moments where I needed to take a short break due to the intensity of the world Ms. Smith brings us into. This is a wonderful story that I highly recommend to all.

Important book for those suffering from addiction, as well as those close to them. The author gives us insight into what the alcoholism feels like, even in someone who seems to be functioning normally. Powerful and fast-paced.

Couldn't put this book down. It's a cautionary tale about high-functioning addiction told with brutal honesty and dark humor. I highly recommend it!

This story is inspiring and heartfelt. Being in the legal industry it brings to light issues that many face and are often ignored. Lisa is bold and courageous in sharing this honest story.
