Very disappointed with the author. Bought this book a year ago and it's just not being released - well beyond the promised release date. Also, the original story story line (Taken) has never been followed through. It was just left hanging. The author jumps from writing for adults to writing in the world of teenagers (Given). Pick a genre and stick with it. For the matter - pick a story line and finish the series before you decide to start writing other offshoots of the original story line. And finish a book when you say you will finish it - not a year after you have already pre-sold the book based on a sales date.

This book was a great read. Rachael and Merrick story is even when your love is tested to no end, love holds no bounds when you believe in each other.

The book was OK but not worth the year and a half it was preordered and not published. It was also not worth the mediocre installments that followed Taken, the first book in the series. In this book we get resolution. But getting there was often slow, had some lame scenes involving Nadia, and was frustrating because what an a$$ Merrick was to Rachael. I give it 3 stars because the series is FINALLY over, but it may have deserved two. Won't be buying the novella Take this man. This author already got enough money from me while making me wait for years to get a conclusion.

Great book! Great series! I really enjoyed reading this book it was full of sneaky plots and drama! Read this and then the Take this man novella, they came out the same day but this one comes first. Loved it!

This has been a great series. The twists and turns, the ups and downs. I love how it goes between Merrick and Rachael's point of views. I have to admit, I was wanting to strangle Merrick through most of the book.

Drama, romance, and conflict all in one location Merrick and Rachel has endure a lot to get to the point that things between them would be good. Then their island romance is disturbed and a choice has to be made. There is drama, romance, and conflict all in one location.  Merrick needs to grow a pair and make his life count for himself not a daughter that is grown and manipulative. Rachel knows herself and what she wants but having to sacrifice to make it all right and then have it blow up in her face is a let down. Maine has a good book her and the next installment may just answer some questions that have been left hanging. This book has sparked my interest enough to get me to read the other books in this series. Thanks, NetGalley.

What a mysterious and wonderful story with romantic characters and settings. Merrick Rocha and Rachel, his girlfriend are living together on Turtle Tear Island in Florida. They are very much in love and are enjoying the romantic and somewhat isolated home. However, there is much in Merrick's history that needs addressing. The people associated with that history have a way of putting pressure on Merrick and work towards driving Rachel away. This is actually #3 in the series. However it can be read as a stand alone and be thoroughly enjoyed. This is one hot, sexy, and in love couple.

Although I had to wait for what seems like forever I thought this was another great book to the series. I am downgrading the review due to the long waits in between books but highly recommend the series to someone who doesn't have to wait!

Rachel and Merrick's journey continues with both of them trying to come to terms with what it will mean to each of them to be together.  There were times that I was wanting to shake both Merrick and Rachel in their inability to see the other side in their arguments.  Rachel was a little too immature at times in this book.  Especially with her constantly wanting to be back home at Turtle Bay so she and Merrick could continue to live in their bubble.  Overall a good book and a nice ending.

I just finished "Given" and "Take this Man" All I can say was they were incredible!!! I am so glad Kelli added on "Take this Man" to this wonderful series. What an amazing ending! I wish all books would end so detailed and so beautifully - you really hit this one out of the park with this series. I will greatly greatly greatly miss Rachael and Merrick ... I am so hoping Kelli will do a spinoff with some of the other couples in this series. This will be one series I will read over again. Thank you for such a beautiful series - it really was One of the Best I have ever read!!!! If you have not read this series, you are really missing out. I highly suggest you start with book one and read them all, I promise you will love each and every one of them!!!!

Given. Kellie Main Review from Jeannie Zelos Book reviews. Well, I’ve done it again, misread the description and got into a book not realising the preceding ones were linked...Doh, I did look and saw book two featured M.J and Maddie so assumed as there were different people in this one it was a completely different book. Wrong, its linked to books one and two but it was fairly easy to work out the back story, though if I’d read them I’d maybe have more context to put events into. Racheal and Merrick – sickeningly in love sometimes and having hot sex at every possible moment it seemed. And yet there was trouble in paradise, a fly in the ointment, worm in the bud....his daughter, who it seems he only recently knew about, and her mother, who he'd been told was dead have reappeared. M.J,Nadia's twin brother, who Merrick didn't know about til recently either, gets on well with his dad. They live close and are good friends and he likes Racheal. Nadia though – she's something else. Manipulative ( I’m with Rachel ) devious and out to cause problems between Merrick and Racheal. She wants him and her mum together so they're all one big happy family, and that leaves no place for Rachel. She's clever though and Merrick thinks Racheal is being unduly harsh, not giving Nadia a fair chance etc..even when M.J and Maddie don't like her, and mum Gina,he still seems to feel so guilty for his absence from their 20 years of life that he's bending over backwards to accommodate what they want. Its causes lots of friction between him and Racheal, though they have hot make up sex after !! I knew- well, had worked out-Merrick was only 13 or so when he got Gina, his babysitter, pregnant . I knew Enzo his father was a cruel and selfish man, he'd told Merrick he'd taken care of things, and that Gina had died, but even those lies weren't the worst he had done. With a father like that no wonder Merrick was so determined to be a better dad to his children, and so taken in by Nadia. Racheal is stuck, in one row Merrick says don't make him choose between her and Nadia and she's really hurt. I would be too, she's tried so hard to make things work, but its clear to everyone except Merrick that Nadia doesn't see her having a place in their lives. I got to the point where like Racheal I just couldn’t see how it could be resolved, they're always going to be in Merrick's life, and though she's telling her dad she's trying to get along with Racheal in reality she's doing the opposite. There's only so much being put second, or third someone can take, and Racheal has serious thoughts about what can be done. She loves Merrick, without a doubt, and knows he loves her but how do they move forward when Nadia is hiding secrets and trying to cause trouble. Its like walking on egg shells for her, and Merrick is torn. He loves Racheal, but having just found Nadia can't comprehend losing her, he's so blinkered though by her actions, so taken in when she blames Racheal for things – I could shake him at times. What was paradise for him and Racheal had become a hot bed of seething arguments and rancour. When things really hit bottom and more secrets come out I was gob-smacked. Stars: four, good sexy, solid read full of surprises.
