This story is about college sweathearts Kahlil & Amber and their struggles before and during their marriage. I really enjoyed this story, it had a little baby mama drama but its basically about love, trust, & betrayal. I felt connected with the characters as the story was told in the first person. There are some funny parts and some other parts that will make your jaw drop, or have you saying OH NO HE DIDN'T! . The writing and the flow of the story was smooth and held my attention. The ending has a twist which I did not see that coming. Can't wait to read the sequel, but its not yet available in e-book format. I recommend this read.

Wow, where do I start??? Fist off, this is a great read, but caution this book is dedicated to those able to digest adult material!!! It's important to note that I don't consider myself an avid reader by no means. So if ever a time I choose to endorse a book positively, you can rest assure my decision has merit. In order for me to get to a place where I don't want to put a book down, it must first have to appeal to me. From the moment I commited to chapter one I was hooked! This book got my attention, and even more impressive it kept my attention. The characters depicted in this book are so real, and that within itself engaged me. I felt as if I knew these people personally, and had actually interacted with them. This book also ran the gamut emotionally. For those who have yet to read it, don't be suprised if by the book's end you've found yourself laughing, crying, happy, mad, sad, confussed.... what am I forgetting??? oh yeah, aroused lol! It's truly a book that dons many hats, and combine that with it's abilty to keep you thursting for more though you've seemingly had enough. Well, that's nothing more than a testament of its greatness.

I had the pleasure of reading this book and falling right back into the sequel. This book was surely good to the very last drop! Steamy hot sex that readers can visualize. I enjoyed the literary ride as Gabrielle took me on an emotional roller coaster ride into the chaotic lives of her characters. Characters who I felt as if I knew in my day to day life. Congrats to this author on her debut release! This is a great start and I look forward to more literary rides aboard the Elissa Gabrielle roller coaster of emotions!

Elissa Gabrielle makes a huge splash in the world of erotica with her debut novel, Good to the Last Drop. This tantalizing story centers on a newly married couple, Amber and Khalil Devereaux, two college sweethearts that have weathered the storms in their relationship to finally make it down the aisle. One of the major storms was Khalil's constant indiscretions during college, one resulting in a child. Amber is portrayed as the quintessential forgiving 'good girl' girlfriend and she manages to forgive him and forge ahead. Khalil has reformed and vowed to never hurt Amber again. Can Khalil live up to this vow or will bad karma come back to haunt his relationship? Khalil's best friend and right-hand man, Shawn, has been with the both of them through all their trials and tribulations and is not only Khalil's voice of reason, but Amber's rock that she leans and depends on. With his help and support, they are able to repair the foundation of their relationship. Shawn also seems to have found happiness of his own in his new fiancée, a stunning woman named Aaliyah. Yet, Aaliyah is very mysterious and harboring a secret of her own that could crush the very ground that her relationship with Shawn is built on. Amber also has two best friends- the flamboyant gay guy, Scott and the ghetto fabulous Keisha, who despise each other immensely but their love for Amber, bonds them together. There interactions provide many laugh out loud moments of comedy throughout the novel. This story is written in a very relaxed, conversational tone. Through the first person accounts of each character, the reader feels as if they are a part of a funny dialogue. I was totally engaged with the rapid storyline that Gabrielle presented. Some of the scenes were so hot and detailed that I had to fan myself to keep from blushing. There are some minor errors that appeared in the book but they did not overshadow the flow of the story. Overall, this book was a major page-turner that left me wanting much more after the last sentence was read. If you are a fan of erotica, this is one story that you will not want to pass up! I look forward to reading more from Gabrielle, as this debut novel has solidified her place in the erotica genre. Angelique APOOO BookClub

A magnificant read! Elissa took me on a rollercoaster of emotions. It's almost like I want to hold her captive like Kathy Bates did with Paul Sheldon in 'Misery'! Looking forward to part two!

Take 1 part soul, 1 part erotic, and 1 part ghetto-fabulous and you have created a mixture that is sure to satisfy the literary hunger in you. If you are looking for a uniquely written, well-versed, hilarious and sensual tale that is realistic and true-to-life, then you must read Good to the Last Drop. A sensual novel written by an equally sensual writer. Very entertaining and I highly recommend it.

After years of havoc, hurt, deception and infidelity, Amber Clarke and Khalil Devereaux have finally jumped the broom. With the past behind them, the newlyweds are soaring high. Right? Amber is the world¿s greatest person. Genuine, considerate and kind, she¿s always the one person everyone thinks of when they need a friend. Khalil has lucked out as he finally comes to the realization that his past indiscretions could¿ve cost him the love of his life. Shawn is everyone¿s boy. This brother is a super hero/ role model all in one. When things were rocky between the lovers, it was Shawn¿s shoulder they both cried on. Shawn is happy to see their love come full circle. Maybe bliss is waiting in the wind for Shawn. Karma comes quick. What happens when love and happily ever after are tempted with lust and secrets? Good To The Last Drop is freshly brewed with plenty of strong characters and a piping hot story that makes reading enjoyable. Laugh out loud funny, with a invigorating voice and spin on life. HOWEVER, the character descriptions and their issues became redundant.

'Good To The Last Drop'-The Best Book I've Read This Year! I ordered Good To The Last Drop and read it in a day. It will take you through many emotions and will leave you begging for more. The reader will be able to identify with at least one of the characters whether it's Amber, the sweet and humble fiance' of Khalil, who is desperately trying to change his mannish ways Scott, Amber's very gay yet divaish best friend, who is quick to put you in your place and manages to keep it classy or Shawn, friend to both Amber and Khalil, who trys to be the glue to hold all together. There was not a moment when I did not laugh while reading this book and the only disappointment was that it had to end. I am definately wanting and awaiting a sequel.

GOOD TO THE LAST DROP BY ELISSA GABRIELLE PEACE IN THE STORM PUBLISHING-ISBN:0- 9790222- 0-7- Good to the Last Drop by Elissa Gabrielle introduces an insatiable couple, Amber and Khalil who go through all to realistic scenarios that any couple would endure from enraged jealousy when Amber wishes to attend a Fantasia party to bouts of jealousy when Khalil feels her loss of weight might entice other men. Of course, Amber loves the attention and being sported around like a trophy, but didn't her mother teach her to never tease or chastise a man's soul? Now Mr. Devereaux somehow comes within the same proximity of Aaliyah, his fiance's best friend. She's sexier than Amber and quickly moves in on his personal space which most women know this is all you have to do to entice any man right? Not so fast. This is where the twists and turns begin in this clever and humorous tale drenched with sexual escapades, sexy dialogue, witty deception and even fashionable bling with everything in style from diamond cut Movado's to Gucci eyewear. Elissa has a wonderful writing formula mixed with a strong sense of character development and sensual language at its best that make her one of the most entertaining debut writers of the year.

I loved this book. I can relate to it because it came from a place that I can certainly relate to. The situations is the book could be realistic, everyday scenarios and very real and relatable. I equated some parts to my own life and felt the emotions the characters were going through. Treacherous, fabulous, non-stop urban thriller with a killer ending! It was GOOD TO THE LAST DROP!

First of all, I got this book from a friend because the cover is so pretty. I ain't give this book back to her yet because I keep rereading chapters that became my favorite. If you have not read this book yet, my suggestion is that you do. The people in this book are just like the people you know, the people in your neighborhood or people you may have gone to school with or work with. Shawn is my favorite character because he seemed to have some type of emotional attachment that is hard to explain, because he was so serious and so dedicated and so split. Now, I think he's going to be the one who really hurts in the long run, but he is amazing in this book. I can see him when I flip through the pages. My next favorite character is Amber because she is so sincere, so lovely and tries so very hard like most of us do. She is unwavering in her committment and loves her man adoringly. I can go on and on about this book. If you're feeling down, it will give you a good laugh and if you want an escape, read this book, IT'S LIKE WATCHING A MOVIE!!!!!

REALLY GOOD BOOK I got this book when I saw someone in the beauty parlor reading it. It looked good so I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't disappointed at all. This is a really good book and I don't mind giving a person their props when they deserve it. Miss Elissa Gabrielle, I've never heard of you but you did your thing with this novel. My favorite character was Khalil because he's like so many brothers I know. It's hard to love him but you can't hate him either. So many brothers out here are struggling to remain faithful when there are so many 'Shaylas' in the world. Please tell me it's not too late for him because I can tell the way it ended it's going to be a sequel. Hopefully you haven't counted 'K' out just yet. LoL. I also loved the way you depicted the African American brothers in this book. Oftentimes I read urban lit and it's always the same mess. Ghetto, disrespectful, no jobs, drug-dealing, and livin' at home with their mamas. You went an entirely different route with Shawn, Khalil and even Scott. They were all independent, well educated and doing just fine for themselves. They even spoke like they had some sense. And you managed to keep everything real when you introduced Jamal. (C'mon now, it wouldn't have been an urban novel without some guy living in his grand-mom's basement, now would it?) LoL. But overall, I loved the book. A few roadblocks here and there but a good read overall. I've recommended it to several people so far.

This has to be one of the most slept on authors today. You need to read Good to the Last Drop so you'll see what I mean. Excellent book! I fell in love with characters. The author's voice as all of the characters was incredible. I'm not sharing. I'm encouraging my friends to get their own. For those of you out there, who are looking for a good read, a page turner, definitely pick up this book.

I have to say one thing. Khalil Devereaux made me melt to the point where I wish he was real, he was so vivid in my mind. I visualize with my mind's eye, and wow, he is something to behold. Yeah, I know, it's fiction, but I'm here to tell you-this book is a MUST read, for sure. I read the book in 1 1/2 days, and that's only because I had to go to sleep to get ready for work. I'm telling EVERYBODY I know to buy this book, because you won't regret it. And that Scott! Wow! The characters are so good. When is the next book? Because I am right here waiting for it!

Have you ever read a book that made you fight back your tears while reading in public? I hadn't, until I read Good To The Last Drop by Elissa Gabrielle. I was fortunate enough to come in contact with this highly talented author who told me that the book would definitely give me a 'good laugh'. Little did I know that this beautifully packaged book would throw my emotions into a wild spin cycle to rival a defective Maytag front-loading washing machine! With the author's comment in mind, I began my journey into the world of newlyweds Khalil and Amber Devereaux. Although hesitant at first about the seemingly long list if characters that were introduced in the first couple of chapters, I soon realized that Gabrielle had the finesse to fully flesh out each and every one. By alternating the first person perspective between her cast of characters from chapter to chapter, Elissa Gabrielle adeptly revealed the inner workings of the people I would soon grow to love. Admittedly, I did laugh at many scenes throughout the novel - Scott (the flaming gay best friend of Amber) and Aaliyah (the fiancée' of Khalil's best friend) bickering in his car which quickly leads to his pulling over to put her out, for instance - but I found that the sections that shine in my memory the brightest were the ones that held more emotional depth. I was so invested in these people that when I witnessed the final climactic moment between two of the main players in this dramatic tale, the tears would not stop forming in my eyes. Would this ultimately destroy them? My heart was so conflicted, and I was taken by surprise at how passionate I felt about the situation. This is the essence of a truly great story: the ability to lose yourself, forget that this is fiction, and believe that these people's destinies are being exposed with each turn of the page. Elissa Gabrielle has sufficiently created a love story that will not easily be forgotten by her readers. In a time when so many writers tend to go for the pretty ending all wrapped up in a shiny satin bow, Gabrielle is refreshingly unique in her literary performance. You should not count on your classic fairy-tale ending, but you can anticipate both the feeling of satisfaction you get from a good read and the expectation of more excellently woven stories to come.

Just like its title suggests: this book is Good to Last Drop. I loved every word. This is far one of her best works. Author's characters are real, vivid and will make you laugh out loud (when it doesn't make you cry). The plot is tight, and I love her use of music lyrics to set the tone of chapters. I highly recommend it.

I recently had the honor of reviewing this novel and I must say I haven't been on a roller coaster ride this exciting since Six Flags made its debut. 'Good To The Last Drop' is an understatement, to say the least. I instantly fell in love with 'Shawn' and his overprotective demeanor and could almost feel his touch through the seductively written pages. And 'Khalil', the husband and 'hot boy' in this twisted tale was so true to life, he provided imaginary eye candy for me, even though I could've reached through the pages and smacked him for the grimy stuff he did. And Keisha, the hilarious best friend in this well-versed spin of complexities, reminds me of so many women I can readily identify with. Seems like I've known her for years. If anyone is a fan of erotica, sprinkled with a splash of ghetto fabulousness, they'll instantly love this book. But the character that I've come to adore the most is none other than Scott, the most down to earth and baddest dressing queen I've ever read about. He's 'in the life' but he's more man than most brothers I know in 'real life'. In 'Good to the Last Drop', Scott is not your average queen. Most novels depict gay characters as those who sleep around or sickly even. But Scott, the Gucci god, is most def, an around the way boy! I don't wanna give too much of this book away so I won't say much more. Find out for yourself why this book and the characters within, tend to come to life with every turn of a page. ForReal! Elissa Gabrielle, whomever she is, will definitely be giving Zane a run for her money.

I got Good to the Last Drop from a friend and read it in one day. Elissa Gabrielle writes with passion, and takes on the role of each character in this story. THe entire book is written in first person, yet every character remains true to themselves. Gritty, humorous, erotic, and thought-provoking. I enjoyed the book from beginning to end. THe ending made me want to pick up the next edition right away and read on. I will be looking for the next book from the talented pen of Elissa Gabrielle.
