Highfliers: The Book of Trina

High school loner Trina Jackson's life is turned upside down when a series of fated events leads her into the path of college sophomore Derrick McNair sparking the beginning of an unusual friendship and bond between them. Journey with them as they spend a year together dealing with the inevitable death of Trina's mother, first love, heartbreak, loss, and racism in early 21st century America in this coming of age tale of a black girl's journey into womanhood.
