It couldve been better but it dragged on about her feelings and it made the book extremely boring. I didnt like how she went back and forth choosing Brad one moment then Ethan the next.

The constant shifting from past tense to present tense and back again, often in the same sentence, did not seem to me like a deliberate stylistic choice but more the work of someone who does not have a grasp on proper grammar. It was very jarring, irritating and confusing, and made the story difficult to follow. The total misuse of vocabulary had the same effect, as well. The last 50 pages or so were especially bad, with glaring errors and such sloppy writing that it overshadowed the plot (such as it was). It seemed as if the author put NO time or effort into crafting the story - it was more like someone just spewed out a mish-mash of words as fast as they could and then left the pile of barf lying exactly how it fell. IF the plot had been good, then perhaps the writing flaws would have been less noticeable - but I saw zero understanding of reality either in the story line or in the characters. There was almost no character development, and the main character came across as shallow, immature, whiny and self-centered. It was impossible to identify with her in any way. There was no real plot development either, with the book seemingly just a cursory listing of (ridiculously NOT true to life) events and pages & pages of whining. This book was not enjoyable on any level; it was tedious and difficult to get through, and it left me wondering why I had bothered. I prefer stories with at least a little depth, books that inspire and provide a new viewpoint, that shine a light on even a small facet of human behavior and/ or show evidence of thought and craft. This story did NONE of these things, It wasted my time and left me feeling unfulfilled.

I like this book, and would highly recommend this series. It has a few grammercal errors (sorry if I spelled his wrong) but tthats about it. Its basiclly about a love triangle between Ethan, Brad, and Becca (A.K.A. Rebecca). She moves away from Brad, her best friend, but her biggest, and only, crush. She meets Ethan, and moves on from Brad, but can't stop thinking about him. You need to read this to find out the rest, and there is a lotof drama. But I still highly recommend this book, and mostly of all, accordong to now.... ITS FREEEEEEEE! I can't say that about the rest of the series, though...:( ~Layla

pretty unrealistic. the main character was actually well written for a selfish spoiled brat. made it hard to like her. the two guys and their responses to her and how things worked out... highly unlikely. almost laughable really

Given To Me For An Honest Review Holding On by Rachael Brownell is a book that you do have to hold on to as you read.  This book will grab you from page one and hold you  down on the edge of your seat as you watch the pages turn and turn and turn some more until you reach the end.  It has three main characters .... Becca, Brad and Ethan. This is the story of Becca and her confusion of her feelings for Brad and Ethan.  Once you begin reading it you are rooting for Brad but then you are rooting for Ethan. Although it's a beautiful love story it also has a bit of a disaster too.   You may need a bit of tissue while reading it.  It is a contemporary romance and it is fantastic!!  I just loved reading it.  In fact, I will be  re-reading it, I loved it that much.  I gave this book 5 stars but it truly deserves 10+.  I highly recommend this book to everyone.  It is well  written and there is so much loving feelings within it.  When you do get to the end, you are going to wonder,  "What, that's not the end!" .... never fear ........ Sequel ...  I just can't wait for it.  I look for that sequel and many more writings from  Rachael Brownell.

Read another book by this author a few weeks ago and was amazed by her.  I picked this one up the next day and was not disappointed.  This is a series and I can't wait to read the next book and find out what happens between all these characters.  I have to say, I'm kind of rooting for the underdog here.

I felt like the book dragged on and on about her indecisiveness. To me, I seemed like she was stringing them along. She most definetly caused the drama in her life. Remember....the best way to get attention is to just ingore that person's call/text msg. Don't feel like its worth it to finish the series.
