Fifty years ago, I wonder how much of this book would have been common sense. This title attempts to serve as a collection of some of the more proven home remedies. Although the sections are somewhat uneven in quality, it's still a decent introduction and reference point, which should usually suffice.

I have been wanting to find treatments that I can do at home.  I hate having to pay Doctors for simple matters.   I have most of the ingredients in my house already.  This shows you how to combine those ingredients to  help yourself and your family.

Home Remedies RX:DIY Prescriptions is an amazingly useful book. With information on how to treat everything from headaches to skin irritations, it covers almost everything you could imagine. There's a list of essential oils which are often on hand and what they can be used for. How to use everyday items for other uses. Need a face wash for acne? Skin cream for insect bites? How to treat both can be found inside! This is the most thorough and useful home remedies book I've read to date, and with 12 1/2 years of reading them, I've read a LOT!! All opinions are my own and not influenced in any way.

I'm a holistic practitioner & don't like running to the doctor every time one of the kids gets a scratch, but this book goes a bit beyond the little things.  My MIL used it to treat her symptoms while recovering from shingles month & was very impressed.  It's a great resource to keep on hand.

Full of folksy remedies for a host of minor irritations, this book is good for some common sense solutions  for the occasional blemish, bump or bruise. Easy to read and follow,  with helpful indices and notes sprinkled throughout. And while I wouldn't use this book in place of actual, real medical care, I might  Consult it for bee stings, itchy bug bites or a stubborn blemish.

This book is not exactly what I expected but it was very interesting. I thought it would be a book with things like what my Gramma would tell me to do that actually worked. Instead it gave good advice on how we can use things that we probably already have at home (household products, essential oils, healing foods) to help with common everyday ailments, prenatal, baby & children's ailments, as well and wellness and grooming. The book also gave advice on how to build a home remedies first aid kit. It was informative and interesting. I enjoyed the chapters on essential oils and healing foods the most and feel like I learned a lot.

This is a very interesting book and definitely a must read. It's broke down into many categories so you can find what you are looking for right from the get go instead of reading through the entire thing to find what you are looking for. I love that there is a nice section on the benefits of essential oils, which a lot of people over look when they are searching home remedies. This book is perfect for those late nights or last resort situations when you need a remedy to get you through until you can make it to the doctor or if you just prefer to treat your ailment naturally. many of these I have heard of before but there were also ones that I had never heard of or thought of. It's a convenient book to have around, especially if you have children!

This is an exceptional resource for anyone who would prefer to use home remedies. You will find over 500 ideas for issues for everyone in your family, including babies and even pets. There's a chapter on using common foods for home remedies, and one on the best uses for essential oils. If you don't have the time or money to rush to your doctor for every little thing, this book is for you!

I'm normally all about home remedies, the Home Remedies Rx sure had some nice ideas and advice when it comes to the topic. I may exactly agree or believe every word said. I won't praise the book, but it's okay.

This book is great ! I am a mom of two boys and I have spent lots of time on the internet researching home remedies for them, but this book takes away the need for that! Its all here. All of the information you need for home remedies. Even an alphabetical list of symptoms and what to do for them! My oldest gets lots of nosebleeds, and now, I know what to do for him besides telling him to hold his nose and wait. I know I will be referencing this book many times from here out!

I generally  avoid taking any over the counter medicines unless it's absolutely  necessary.  This book is a great resource to have on hand to refer to for healing with ingredients  around  the house. I especially  enjoyed learning about the usin essential  oils.

This is a great book for someone who would like to treat ailments and minor injuries with holistic type treatments. I really love this book.  I like how she gives the  product/food, and what it is good for, then turns around and gives the problem with possible solutions.

This book lists a wide array of ailments and injuries that is all alphabetized for easy and quick reference. Many of the suggestions might be considered "Old Wive's Tales" but have been tried and true for ages! Sometimes going back to the 'old way' of doing things is a better alternative then modern medicine!!

I regularly take up the essential oil advice outlined in this great ebook and it helps a lot. Some of the advice is really invaluable for everything from minor swelling to flatulence. The recommendations are sound and I would feel comfortable using most of the remedies, myself. (Some I cannot due to medication conflicts, but I give this book props for mentioning conflicts to help remind me!)

Every home should have this! I have four children and we are on a tight budget and buying this book is saving me more money than I can tell you! My teenage daughter for instance is very pale skinned, light thin blonde hair and it gets oily fast so having to buy dry shampoo is COSTLY. There is a place in this book on how to make it your self and I am telling you it works, It works and we add lavender oil and it smells amazing. There is so many uses in this ebook and it is now my go to for a lot of things. I am so glad that I bought this!! Like I said, a must have in every home.  !

With so many people trying to save on buying things that they do not need and want to use what they have at home this is a book for you. It shows you how to use house hold items and use it for some else that you would have never thought of using it as. Like using mouthwash to help control dandruff, I would have never have thought.

A good handbook to start trying natural remedies.  Was surprised at the wide array of cross uses for simple healing.  Make sure you take notes, would be very helpful.

This book is packed with great ideas for home remedies, but unfortunately has a bit of misinformation when it comes to "safe for breastfeeding women" advice. It lists a couple of foods as unsafe, when in actuality they are wonderful for a nursing mother to have. I know this because they are items I have used to help myself. Other than that, which I can easily disregard, it teaches a lot of things about different things that can be found around the house. I will be keeping it as a reference book for when I make my own concoctions.

Home Remedies RX-DIY I like this book because it gives you various remedies for any ailment that you may encounter in your everyday life. Most of the remedies you probably already have on hand and if you are like me, you may not have even known the many uses of a household item or a healthy food item that you may already have at home. One of my favorites is the Peppermint Essential Oil. I found it to be the remedy of several ailments that I encounter ever so often. This would be a great "go to" book to have in your home! And if you are needing help, the book has instructions on how to build your home remedy first aid kit.

Home Remedies RX : DIY Prescriptions When You Need Them Most - such a great book to have at home! I have learned how to control blood sugar levels, bring down cholesterol, how to treat minor cuts and burns and so much more! I have a list of Healing Household Products like Coffee or Peroxide. I now have a list of healing foods than can help with cancer and diabetes like Cinnamon and Bananas. Healing Essential Oils like Chamomile and Lavender. I can pull together things to relieve Canker Sours and Back Pain. I absolutely adore this book! I have referred to it multiple times. Honestly it has saved me multiple trips to the ER with my kids! This is one of those books you take camping with you, or on vacation, or just have it at home. Big help! I did receive this book for free for an honest and unbiased opinion and I can honestly say I give it a 10!

Overall I feel this is a good reference book for anyone who is interested in learning about home remedies, especially beginners. The scientific background which explains why these remedies work is fascinating, however not all remedies are explained. Having limited experience with essential oils, I was glad to see them included. The information regarding them was extremely helpful. Some of the remedies in this book are pretty basic and well-known, so occasionally I did feel let-down because I was hoping for something new to try rather than being given the same advice. In the author’s defense, it clearly states this book is written for beginners.

I was really excited to read this book because it would be nice to have a different option or more nature option to actual medication. Today in our world so many medicines have horrible side-effects. This book is all about nature and at home remedies :) My favorite chapter is all about healing foods, knowing some of your favorite foods can help with sickness, and even lessen the effects or slow the effects of cancer. These products , we eat everyday and didn't even know how much they help this book is great for anyone wanting to get into home remedies
