Overview

Isolated Maneuver by Mandy M. Roth

Alpha gorilla shifter and former Immortal Operative, Bane Antonov, has spent years learning to master his beast side. But his temper is tested when two blasts from the not-so-distant past show up, claiming to want to help him find his mate. He's never believed in destiny, or that the Fates have anything great planned for him. All he knows is that his hard-earned control shatters the minute he crosses paths with Galiena-a petite succubus who makes the alpha in him want to shout "mine". She has the ability to break his calm exterior and the heart he's spent decades hardening. Hunted by a mad man who wants to own her body, her powers, and her soul, Galiena needs his protection. Bane has to learn to set his beast free if he wants to keep his mate safe.

Ms. Roth delivers yet again. She incorporates humor and action, and in depth characterizations for a well written novel. Of course, this is part of a series and one needs to read some of the others to fully appreciate the characters; however, she gives enough explanations to prevent confusion if this is the first novel one reads in series.

Another great book by Mandy. Just when you thought you read about every kind of paranormal creature Mandy comes up with more whether they're good or bad. Bane, one of the strongest outcasts, has to fight what was thought as a mythical creature to save and claim his mate who was experimented by the same horrible doctor who experimented on him. Another IOps book that I had to read in one sitting! I love this world hard - they are misfits just like me! My favourite misfits, Bill and Gus, are back causing havoc and derailing everyone's perfectly laid plans. All in an effort to save Bane's mate - something he didn't think he would ever have. He has been haunted by the photo of the room-mate of his friends new mate and has been carrying out enquiries to trace her since she was taken. Galiena is a succubus but she is not a "lady of negotiable affection". She needs the energy to survive and since her capture she is entering dangerously low levels. But when the creeps inject her, she finally manages to escape but not before she can feel the beginnings of some new...talents. But what will she make of the fact that her longed for mate is a WereGorilla? I loved these characters. Bane - so terrified his wild nature will break any mate, and Galiena- the succubus afraid to drain her lover dry! What a confused bunch! There are some truly comical moments and I loved the way that Gale could totally sap the strength from the big, badass dude!

Covet Op’s with a bit of comedy Comical relief but gets the job done at least that’s what I think of Bill and Gus. While Bane is on a covet Op’s by himself, Bill and Gus show up. Those two are a comical act to watch or read about. Especially since you only here Bill’s side of their conversation with Gus talking directly into a supernatural person’s head. Bane calls Bill’s and Gus’ keeper, Casey, and is asked to watch the two until he can come and get them in a few days. But the two have other plans for Bane, like helping him find his mate and keeping her safe. Doesn’t matter if Bane wants their help or not. This is an awesome story in the series and yet still a self-contained story in itself. Well written and extremely entertaining to read.

I received a copy in return for an honest review. Bane isn't all that sociable and it doesn't bother him. But when a friend asks him to keep an eye on two loose cannons, he can't say no. And when they help him find his mate, he finds himself softening. Galiena has found herself in a gilded prison. She is determined to fight even if it may lead to her death. But when instead it leads to the deaths of others, can she accept what she has become? I really enjoyed this addition to Ms. Roth's Immortal World series. Bane was so grouchy but adorable. And Galiena was strong in ways that even she was unaware of . Together she help Bane see the good in life and Bane helped steady her as her world changed. Levity was also gained with Gus and Bill. They were a hoot and helped loosen Bane up and make him that much more likeable. Ms. Roth still gave us an uber alpha male but softened his edges. I loved seeing Bane and Galiena find each other even under trying circumstances. But even as they found love, Ms. Roth gave us more in the overall story arc and I can't wait to see how she brings it all together. This is an enjoyable read and well worth your time.

I love the Whole Immortal OPS world that Mandy M Roth writes and cant wait for more books in this series. With Isolated Maneuver, this is a spin off from the Immortal Ops series and I am just in love with this book and am now dying for more in this series –it is just as good as the books in the original Immortal Ops world. Immortal Outcast, Bane Antonov is a Gorilla Shifter and he is tasked with locating the best friend of one of his fellow Outcast’s mates. Bane doesn’t doubt that this woman , Gale , is still alive but others doubt this. Then Bane gets some help from Gus and Wild Bill, an unlikely pair who come to offer their help in finding Galiena (Gale) Korsakov, super natural, succubus. Bane will have to fight for control in finding her with the others around. Galiena has got the wrong type of attention from the wrong immortals and they ended up being held captive by a man who wants her so bad that he is willing to keep her against her will. Gale has to fend off his advances while they use her as some sort of lab experiment. Finally she got free yet she tries to find her way out of this mad man’s lair , she stumbles across a man who calls to her that she wants to wrap herself up in him. When Gale and Bane come together, its literally electric. There are many twists and turns in their wild ride, so I definitely recommend this book. If you like the OPS series and you love PNR, then this is the book/series for you. My rating: 4.5 stars **** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

A super fan of the entire Ops world, I may have a new favorite. I fell hard for Bane. I'm sure Galiena isn't planning to share. I'll have to settle for enjoying the story about their fated meeting, arranged by none other than Wild Bill and Gus, his silent friend. Galiena's inner succubus had spent many years working in a safe club run by another paranormal, but Jinx took care of her girls. She kept them away from the likes of men such as the one who holds her captive, demanding she gives in to her needs and his desires. What will her refusal cost her besides her death? Bane is part of the Immortal Ops world, the Outcasts, with the group of test subject that didn't quite come out as planned. He's not officially on the team. He is a weregorilla who is barely in control of his animal side. He's had to be very careful who he befriends and especially women. When Wild Bill and Gus show up in a “borrowed” car and clothes belonging to his friend Weston, they announce they are there to get him “sexed up”. Just what he wants from these two unique guys. He'd like to ignore them except they are important to Weston and his mate. When asked to watch them until Weston can come for them, he reluctantly agrees. For once, he's sort of glad to have them. They keep their promise. Galiena has escaped but is running from her enemy and to her needs. There are reasons she can't just fulfill her needs as she has always done. When she and Bane meet, fear and need war. He wants her, not admitting why but his beast demands he claim her. What happens from here has to be read, no spoilers and there is so much packed into the end—danger, romance (we're talkin' a gorilla here) reunions, decisions and so much more. The one character I so want to discuss is one you have to meet and read about his abilities. I loved every word but two—THE END. This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way
