About the Author

Candice Hern is the award-winning, bestselling author of historical romance novels and traditional Regency romance novels, all set during the English Regency, a period she knows well through years of collecting antiques, fashion prints, and magazines of the period. She travels to England regularly, always in search of more historical and local color to bring her stories and characters to life.
Her books have won praise for the "intelligence and elegant romantic sensibility" (Romantic Times) as well as "delicious wit and luscious sensuality (Booklist).

Candice's award-winning website (www.candicehern.com) is often cited for its Regency World pages, where readers interested in the era will find an illustrated glossary, a detailed timeline, illustrated digests of Regency people and places, articles on Regency fashion, research links, and much more. It is the only author website listed among the online resources for the Jane Austen Centre in England.

Such a sweet story. I wish it were a full-length book! The characters were so nice. It was a great, quick read. I recommend it highly.

A freindship that develops with out the pretense of society and yet a mask is in place.

I found this a very sweet story. The Princess Ann (minor royalty) sneaks out of her enormous house and a gentleman - luckily, a good one and even more luckily, the one she's supposed to be betrothed to - happens to see her stuck in a tree. So he takes her out driving and to see a balloon ascension and to wander around all over Regency London without telling her who he is. So it's a bit Roman Holiday. I really liked the way they got to know each other by having fun together (though I got a bit mad at him for not telling her who he was).
