Liked the fast pace!

This felt like a mid-point draft of what could've been a very good book had it been given an independent/objective read and critical excision of some logic flaws and "yeah, they wouldn't do that!" moments that yanked the reader out of the story. The depiction of Captain Una - that bent over backwards to illustrate how she managed to escape her sticky wickets because of her superiority at, oh, everything ever - instead made her seem an insufferable braggart and just kind of a two-dimensional jerk. The "bad guys" are worth the read, and the last 5 pages swung me over to the side for continuing the series.
