About the Author

Since the release of her debut contemporary romance novel, Off Sides, in January 2013, Sawyer Bennett has released multiple books, many of which have appeared on the New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists.

A reformed trial lawyer from North Carolina, Sawyer uses real life experience to create relatable, sexy stories that appeal to a wide array of readers. From new adult to erotic contemporary romance, Sawyer writes something for just about everyone.

Sawyer likes her Bloody Marys strong, her martinis dirty, and her heroes a combination of the two. When not bringing fictional romance to life, Sawyer is a chauffeur, stylist, chef, maid, and personal assistant to a very active daughter, as well as full-time servant to her adorably naughty dogs. She believes in the good of others, and that a bad day can be cured with a great work-out, cake, or even better, both.

Sawyer also writes general and women's fiction under the pen name S. Bennett and sweet romance under the name Juliette Poe.

The Haven is a sanctuary for animals and it is also for Alyssa.....Alyssa comes from a wealthy family so people assume she is a princess with a trust fund just living the dream. But that is not Alyssa at all....she is a hard working individual giving she time and money to save animals and doing most of the work herself. Sure The Haven has volunteers but it isn't enough she needs more help. But when she offers Brody away to complete his community service after being released from jail he looks at her as the snot nose spoiled heiress he believes she is and doesn't want her help....but does she prove him wrong. And boy does he prove her wrong that he isn't the convict that everyone sees him as. Brody is a strong hard working gorgeous strong individual that has a wall constructed around his heart that he won't let anyone breakdown....but after one kiss with Alyssa he wants more but will he let the wall come down ?? Once Brody and Alyssa realize that they aren't the two people they thought each other was there friendship blossoms into something they both weren't looking for. You thought Hunter and Gabby's story had struggles, careers and psych ex's ...... You haven't seen anything yet !! The Markham' Brother's stories were AMAZING !! Sawyer's writing was FANTASTIC !! I can't wait for more !!

What is a hero?  For many of us, when we think of a hero we think of crime-fighting icons with superhuman powers and skin-fitting apparel (Yes, especially Henry Cavill in his dark blue tights.)  But what about the guy who has the super-human capacity to love and sacrifice?  In my book, that too is a definition of hero.  Meet Brody Markham.  Wounded, he is just returned from prison.  He vacillates between wanting to be left alone and wanting to be back as a part of his family.  He's back in his home town, and he wants to be connected to his past but uncertain how he can move on.   In comes Alyssa Meyers into his life.  Alyssa is best friends with Brody's sister-in-law.  Despite growing up in a privileged home, she rejects that lifestyle as cold and uncaring.  Alyssa is full of life and pours all of her love and care into her animal rescue, The Haven. Anyone who is dedicated that much to animals surely has much love to give.  This is what draws the two together.  And it is beautiful.  It is ferocious.  It is some of Sawyer Bennett's best work.  She has a keen ability to tap into a character's nobility, whether it is standing up for discarded animals or protecting the family.  At the end, I applaud our characters' sacrifices and sigh at their love story.   IN A NUTSHELL:  I love this Last Call series.  I love the setting.  For me, it's almost a character unto itself.  I adore the characters.  I am entangled in their stories and I want to read more!

Ifell in love with Sawyer Bennett's Off series loving all the books and the characters. That doesn't happen often and yet here we go again The Last Call series is off to an amazing start! I fell in love with Hunter and Gabby from the moment I started the first book and was sad when I had finished it because I wanted more of their story, I got that and so much more in the second book which is Alyssa and Brodys heart wrenching and utterly beautiful story. Sawyer has a way with her characters that is rare . I feel that she must love and respect them on some deep level and that comes through in how her characters interact with each other . It makes for some wonerful reads. You can't go wrong with any of her books! Bev N

Exceptional Love Story!  I laughed, I cried and I simply fell in love with Brody and Alyssa.  Rarely do I leave a review, but this book was more than worth it.  Sawyer Bennett wrote a story with such passion of love and family.  I was unable to put it down.  I have found a new author that will always be on my Must Read list.

## STELLAR. I loved this book from beginning to end. I adored both the hero and heroine. Brody was remarkable and Alyssa was a gem. Unlike another reviewer I loved the swearing. I found it hilarious coming from her. And their chemistry was electrifying. Kudos to the author for letting them have fun times together and for a complete ending. Not a cliffhanger in sight. Yay! Apparently this book is part of a series however it stands alone just fine. All in all, this was one terrific book that I'll definitely read again.

It was a good book, good story line....but it was super short and felt underdeveloped because of that. At 3.99 for less then 200 pages, I felt a bit robbed. I was done in under a hour and thinking it was good enough to want more of it but not good enough for 3.99. Not sure I'll return to this author.

When I read On the Rocks, the first book in Sawyer Bennett's Last Call series, I was completely intrigued by Brody. I was thrilled to find out he was getting the honor of the second book in this series and I marked it high on my TBR list and waited anxiously for it to be available. It was worth the wait. Brody Markham's life has been anything but easy. He spent five years in prison, serving time for vehicular manslaughter. He's returned home and is having a difficult time adjusting. He's carrying a world of anger, even though no one really knows why. He pushes away anyone who tries to get close to him, even though deep down, he yearns for a connection with someone. Alyssa Myers comes from money and is everything Brody detests... or is she? He might look at her and see a spoiled princess, but he couldn't be further from the truth. She's hardworking and dedicated, she's sweet, she just might be exactly what he needs. Brody and Alyssa's banter really grabbed me in On the Rocks – not taking anything away from Hunter and Gabby, I loved them too. I could just tell there was far more to Brody than met the eye. I wasn't wrong. He's a fiercely protective guy. I can't say I was shocked when the full details of his past came out, but I was thoroughly appalled at what he'd gone through. No one deserves that. I loved the scenes where he and Alyssa began to really get to know each other at the animal rescue. They were so perfectly fitted for each other. They had a ton of chemistry and the sexual tension between them sizzled. When Alyssa's ex came back into the picture, I was legit worried that something would happen to throw a wrench in her and Brody's relationship – and Brody's parole, for that matter. Make it a Double was a fantastic second chance story. It was hopeful and sexy and sweet. The characters were fantastic and likable and there was just enough drama to keep it all interesting without getting overly angsty. There was also a healthy dose of suspense to this book and it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat, just waiting to see what would happen. Oh, and the very end? All the swoons. All of them. I can't wait for the next book in this series. I really hope it's Casey's. :) I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

4.75 stars: MAKE IT A DOUBLE is the second instalment in Sawyer Bennett’s contemporary, adult, erotic LAST CALL romance series focusing on a group of family and friends in and around Hatteras Island, North Carolina. This is Brody Markham and Alyssa Myers’s storyline. Brody is the twin brother of Hunter Markham whom we met in book one –On The Rocks. Following his release after five years in prison for vehicular manslaughter, Brody finds himself lost in a world of which he was once a part. Working as a bartender for his brother at Last Call, Brody is both equally repelled and attracted to his sister’s childhood friend Alyssa but Alyssa is now a woman who reminds him of everything that he has lost. The focus of the storyline is the enemies to friends to lovers relationship of Brody and Alyssa. Needing a community service assignment Brody will volunteer his time at Alyssa’s ‘No Kill Animal Rescue Shelter’ placing him in the direct path of temptation. There is a definite attraction between our couple but one that is tempered by Brody’s past; his five years in prison; and a secret that he hid behind bars. When Alyssa discovers the truth, she enters a heartbreaking journey where she will fall in love with the man who believes himself broken and destroyed. MAKE IT A DOUBLE is a revealing look at what some people will do to protect those that they love. It is a storyline that will break your heart when two people are forced to face the reality of their pasts; crazy exes; and the truth about family and friends. It is a story about betrayal and loss; friendship and love; letting go and moving on. The world building continues with the inclusion of most of the previous storyline characters who bring a familiarity to the reader. Their lives, their loves and their connections to one another are believable, seductive and dramatic. The family and friends from Last Call are intensely protective of the people that they love. Sawyer Bennett pulls the reader into an intense and emotional storyline where passionate nights lead to intimate days. Make It A Double is a story about the love of a family for a son whose heart and soul were broken by a turn of events that never should have happened.

Being a fan of Ms. Bennett’s, I knew there was more to Brody’s story than met the eye. You can’t help but melt for Brody as he bonds with Alyssa over the animals at The Haven. Ms. Bennett did a great job at bringing out not only his protective side but also his gentle and sweet sides. Yes, you read that right!! I really can’t say much otherwise it would be giving away the plot for the book. I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the couples throughout this series.
