OMG I think the heat from this book burned off my eyebrows, it was so good! This is the second book I have read in this series and I have received this book as an ARC for my honest review. This book is definitely exactly what is listed in the overview, 'cotton candy with a razor on top'. I found myself laughing at the banter between Leona and Malcolm, saying awww when the sweet "your so romantic" moments came and when it came down to the bedroom they set the sheets on fire. What I also loved was the smooth transition from Night of Pleasure to Master of Pleasure, to find that this book was going on at about the same time as the other book was really cool. It kind of reminds you that even in fiction every character is going through something and has lives revolving around others. Malcolm steps onto the scene just when Leona needs him the most. He was her knight in tarnished armor, he was not perfect but more perfectly imperfect. He may want some naughty things in the bedroom but out of it he is as gentle as can be. Leona may be a single mother down on her luck but she has just the sass and back bone that Malcolm needs to make all of his dreams come true. Will they let a little pain get in the way or open their minds to what could be the best relationship of their lives? Great job Delilah Marvelle

An interesting twist in this excellent series. Malcolm is virgin and when he takes the blame for his brother, his religious father sends him to a monastery for sexual deviants to remove the wickedness from him. While there, he is constantly punished for protecting the weak. When he saves Nasser from the cruelty of the other boys, Nasser invites him to travel back to Persia with him. Upon his return to England he runs into Leona Webster, the girl that caused him to go to the monastery. After years of being celibate he finds he wants to experience more. This story and an interesting twist, we usually find the woman the virgins and the men rogues or rakes. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the excellent read and loved the interaction between Malcolm and Leona. Excellent read!

Malcolm Gregory Thayer is a complicated hero. He fights to control his desires. He knows there is no woman who would have him. When he comes upon Miss Leona Olivia Webster, she's arguing with creditors who took her son's favorite bear. He wants to help. She's magnificent in her anger. He's drawn to her and goes out of his way to be of assistance. These two arouse passion in each other. Malcolm is a fierce warrior who embraces pain. He wants her to be his. Leona is an outcast. She was betrayed by her fiancée. She bore her son out of wedlock. She's a fiercely protective mother who manages without any help from her son's father. I liked her spirit. She won't give up. Malcolm and Leona deserve to be together. I wanted them to enjoy their passion. Jacob, her son, was precious and wise beyond his years. He deserves to have a father who will teach him to be an honorable man. Malcolm is perfect in that role. The secondary characters are all likeable especially Nasser. I wonder what his fate is. As always the School of Gallantry helped save the day. I loved Master of Pleasure. I couldn't put this book down. Delilah Marvelle has written a very special romance.

This is book 5 in the School of Gallantry series. Miss Leona Olivia Webster allowed herself to fall in love with the wrong man. Left pregnant and alone she did the best that she could with the limited resources she had. Unfortunately, it's not enough. The debt collectors have arrived and are taking all of her possessions. Confronting the men for taking her son's toy, she gets in over her head. Malcolm Gregory Thayer, the earl of Brayton, comes to her rescue. He pays her debt and even offers her a job while he is in London. Having had a very rough childhood, Malcolm is a champion of the underdog and won't stand by and watch something unjust occur. Having long ago decided never to get involved with a woman because of his violent tendencies, Malcolm is terrified of the feelings that Leona creates in him. Can he become a better man and win her love? I will say this is not my favorite book of the series. There were parts of the story that were a little disturbing to me (and the heroine too, LOL!). I did enjoy the story for the most part, though. If you are not into BDSM, then this might not be the book for you. I did enjoy learning more about Thayer. In the previous stories in the series, we don't know much about the scarred, silent, brooding man. I also enjoyed learning how he met Nassar and how their friendship developed. As with all of Marvelle's stories the dialogue between the characters is great. I was often laughing out loud at the witty commentary she wrote. Unfortunately this series is coming to an end, but not before Madame de Maitenon finds her happily ever after. I can't wait to read her story which comes out in the spring.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4  REVIEW:   Both Malcolm & Leona are in very different places in their life.   Leona finds herself fighting for the life she has built for herself and her son.  But when the debt collector comes calling Leona finds herself in much more of a pickle with the a group of men.    Thankfully her knight in shiny armor happens to be walking down the street.   Malcolm is only in town for a short time.  But stepping in to help the lovely Leona is about to turn his world upside down. I have to tell you this is my first School of Gallantry novel by Ms. Marvelle.   I have read all of Ms. Marvelle’s other books.  I do have the first 4 books in the School of Gallantry series and after reading Master of Pleasure I am looking forward reading them.   If you are a Delilah Marvelle fan you will love this book.  If you are new, never fear you can read this book as a stand alone easily.     Disclaimer:  I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley & Delilah Marvelle Productions in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
