About MOOC It: We are students of MOOCs that found it very difficult to stay on top of all the many MOOC changes and developments taking place on a daily basis. In an effort to help ourselves address this challenge, we developed an internal means of helping our remote team stay informed and up to the minute on what we saw as some of the biggest MOOC news and developments. "MOOC it" was that effort, and it proved very helpful to each of us because it gave us key information in manageable twitter-sized chunks that we could quickly scan, and select those that impacted our individual areas of responsibility to read in greater detail at their origination source/link. We found it useful, and decided that it may be useful to other students of MOOCs, so that is how the 'MOOC it" book project/series came to be.

Augusto's commitment to the empowerment power of online education goes back to an early Stanford University experiment in computer-based self-paced courses. That experience shaped his life-long belief into what he sees as one of the most powerful "equalizers" of the internet: Online Education. A commitment that continues today with Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

Augusto is a co-founder of www.MOOCs.University; creator of one of the first MOOCs Provider Directories, www.MOOCs.co; originator of the www.MOOCpetition.com on Change.org, and developer of the MOOCs University App available in Google Play, iTunes App Store, Amazon & others.

Earlier, as a principal with one of the country's first Online Education Consumer Organizations, AboutEdu, and in conjunction with the senior management of the country's largest American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), he proposed, and co-managed the development of the first learner-focused search portal for the affordable online programs of community colleges nationwide.

Prior to joining AboutEdu, he was Senior Vice President of Global Business Development and a member of the start-up team of what today is a billion dollars world leader in International Higher Education - Laureate International Universities. He came to Laureate from one of the first eLearning subsidiaries by a major University, New York University's Online Education division (NYU online), where he headed Global Business Development.
Mr. Failde, a frequent industry speaker, was the featured speaker on "Ethics in the Age of Online Education and MOOCs" at the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics - Higher Education Conference.
