Totally enjoyed this fun read. It was a really easy book to loose yourself in & who doesn't need that sometimes. Corrie was feisty & smart & I loved Vera (a security guard/ law school student) who becomes her partner in crime solving. I sorta see this book as Nancy Drew or Veronica Mars after the college years- loved it. I hope this becomes a series because I want more of Corrie and her crime solving adventures. ARC provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Title: Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters Author: Lida Sideris Published: 9-30-15 Publisher: The Wild Rose Press Pages: 332 Genre: Romance Sub Genre: Contemporary Fiction; Women Sleuths; Humor & Satire; Amateur Sleuths; ISBN: 9781509202416 ASIN: B014BVSWTE Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley My Rating: 5 stars . . Following her father's death, Corrie Locke abandons her Private Investigative business and becomes an associate lawyer in a firm that specializes in the entertainment industry. Unfortunately her dream job soon becomes a nightmare. Her boss seems unable to make decisions and stand behind them. The Vice President has octopus hands and the HR executive that does not understand the meaning behind the word confidentiality. When Corrie is asked by a friend to investigate what police are calling a suicide but may be a murder. Then people think Corrie has reopened her detective agency and bombard her with cases. There's the Rapper who thinks aliens are after him, and not the ones from across the border, and locating a missing Siamese cat for a basketball player. I thought Nancy Drew when I first read the blurb on Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters. Then I read she was 26 and a lawyer and adjusted my thinking. Corrie is effervescent and sees the world through the eyes of youth no matter her age. Once I started reading I could not stop until the end. Does she still remind me of Nancy Drew, yes, but I held Nancy Drew in high esteem in my younger years and still enjoy sharing her cases with my nieces and nephews today. If you enjoy your mysteries and romances with a touch of humor, then this is definitely one book you do not want to miss. For an intelligent woman she can be a bit ditzy when it comes to men, but she does not give up her search for Mr. Right. Find a quiet place, a glass of tea and a comfy chair and be prepared to enjoy yourself as you enter Corrie's crazy chaotic world. A definite 5 out of 5 stars rating in my word. Please tell me this is not the only book about Corrie Locke! Please!!!

Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters by Lida Sideris was one of the easiest and funny cozy mysteries that I have read this year. Corrie Locke is one smart, funny and determined lawyer and investigator. I liked her and found her to be relatable. There were a lot of characters in the story which I found a little confusing at times but I soon sorted them all out. Complex characters, twists and turns for not only a suspicious death but two other mysteries as well, and a fast paced plot kept me reading until I finished. I am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Sideris. I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My opinions expressed in this review are strictly my own.

Reviewed by Anne-Marie Reynolds for Readers' Favorite Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters by Lida Sideris is a humorous mystery story. Corrie Locke used to be a private investigator, but when her father died, she gave it all up. Instead, she became a lawyer. Now she’s about to start a brand new job as a lawyer for an entertainment firm, a nice safe job – or it should have been. On her first day she gets roped into investigating a suicide and finds herself chasing a murderer. She teams up with the most unlikely of characters and a whole host of somewhat shady weaponry she probably shouldn’t have. The suspects are flying thick and fast and Corrie is right in the line of fire. Can she unearth the murderer before her time is up? Murder and Other Unnatural Disasters by Lida Sideris is an excellent read. It has everything needed for a cozy afternoon curled up on the sofa – murder, mystery, humor, and plenty of action. The plot is extremely detailed and so well written that I found myself hooked on page one. As the story gets deeper, so do the hooks and I really couldn’t put this down until I got to the end. There are plenty of twists in the story and the main protagonist is also working on two other cases that keep popping up throughout the book, all drawing neatly to their natural conclusions. The characters were very likeable; you couldn’t help but identify with them and find yourself rooting for one or two as well. Excellent story, I really enjoyed this read.
