Best personal growth and self-help Read! I wish this book were out years ago as it would have been a great help to me! Maureen dives right in the beginning with the first chapters! "Come and find where your morning "happy place" is before you start your day, and much more you'll learn from this treasure trove of the authors' life coaching experiences. And right from the first two chapters? Which are exceptional by the way, Maureen pulls you in and helps us learn to slow down a little in life, learn what's most important each day, take some relaxing "me time" and don't be afraid to become more SPONTANEOUS and so much more in this fantastic book. I enjoyed how she wrote and laid out just "How" to accomplish each task. It is a unique personal growth book I have read while the author shares techniques involving our pets and her own life challenges. I have not read such an uplifting and motivational book like this one until now! You can use it as a guide and take it with you on the go as well. Another area I did enjoy and hate to spoil a fabulous book, was when she uses one of my FAV movies as an example of how we can learn to accept and respect our "differences" we may have from others and in a healthy way. No one person is perfect! All in all, it is a read that I highly recommend, and it is a fun and pleasure to read even if you don't need a "do-over or reset" in your journey. I can guarantee YOU WILL learn something you can take away from this well-written book to make changes in your life. I look forward to Maureen's next book! Cat Lyon's Reading and Writing Den

Reviewed by Maria Beltran for Readers' Favorite My Dog is More Enlightened Than I Am by Maureen Scanlon is a self-help book which, as the title suggests, takes its inspiration from man's best friend. Relax Whenever You Can, Be Spontaneous, Appreciate Our Differences, Take Care of Each Other, Self Care, No Regrets, and Be Curious are especially true and, I presume, all dog owners and lovers will be reminded of their canine friends and can easily relate to these first six chapters. The rest of the topics take their cue from the law of attraction with the writer sharing some of her experiences, both painful and joyous. Maureen Scanlon is a certified life and spiritual coach and her book exhorts readers to emulate these loyal and carefree creatures that have been important parts of many people's lives in more ways than one. One of the things that make this book intriguing is that we don't only get to know her dogs Jade and Brodie but the feeling that they are hugely instrumental in the production of this inspirational work, thus they are co-authors of this book. All of us would like to make the most out of our lives and may look everywhere for inspiration, not realizing that the animals around us can help us find the peace and happiness we seek. My Dog is More Enlightened than I Am opens our eyes to the fact that there are a lot of things we can learn from animals, especially from these loyal furry creatures that will always be there for us.

I love dogs! I love this book! I love the energy that comes from reading this. It made me laugh and reflect on how I could do things that would make me feel better in my every day busy life. I will certainly take away a lot of this information and cannot wait to see what the Author has in store next.
