As a child, her parents encouraged her interests in Ancient Greek and Roman mythology and all things historical and magickal. As an adult, the interests only grew. She is a child of Neverland and refuses to ever stop believing in fairies. She is guilty of indulging in and being a Buffy the Vampire Slayer groupie as well as an Angel fan. For those of you unfamiliar with the world of Joss Whedon, you are missing out!

She also makes sure to watch as many action and adventure movies as possible. The more exciting the better. Yippee-Ki-Yay..... If you don't know the end of that phrase, then you probably don't like the same movies.

She enjoys reading romance in all genres, but especially paranormal. Her favorite book is ACHERON by Sherrilyn Kenyon. But really, if it has a 'Happily Ever After', she's on board!

Krystal writes stories full of action, snark, magick, and heart-felt emotion. If you are looking for leisurely-paced sweet romance, her books are probably not for you. However, for those looking for a magickal ride, filled with adventure, passion, and just a hint of humor. Welcome home.

New to me author. What a great book. This is a paranormal lovers dream book. It gives us so many Other worldly beings all in one place. This book is in the future and some states now allow others to coexist peacefully. Bailey Ross is running from an abusive ex and ends up in a bus station smelling horrible and hungry. Enter one Djinn named Marcus who is wanting to get at her for some reason but then Erick appears. He is a protector and Vampire and offers to take her to his home in Sanctuary. This is where we are introduced to so many other beings. Knowing she does not have much choice and needs to hide she agrees to go with him. So much happens and I am not going to give you spoilers so let me just say. Grab this book and read !! I hope that this is the beginning of a series of books because it was fantastic and I highly recommend !! I was gifted a copy of this book for my honest review

'I was given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review as part of a blog tour.' Bailey Ross is on the run from her crazy ex. She knows that if he finds her he is going to kill her. She has been running for a while now and he always finds her. Not only does she have him after her but she has caught the attention of a Djinn. They enjoy the pain and suffering of others and if he gets her she's dead for sure. So she decides to hide in plain site where there are crowds. At least until she can get away. Then she meets Erick Thorson. A Vampire. She's unsure if she should trust him. With her being single there are many dangers for her. She really has no choice though if she wants to survive. Erick was instantly drawn to Bailey which surprises him as he has not been drawn to a human in a long time. He normally tries to stay away from them. He can tell how scared she is. That is what drew him to her in the first place. When he finds out his biggest enemy is after her as well as her ex he knows then and there that he will offer her his protection no matter what. He wants more though. He wants forever. My rating: 5 Hearts Heat rating: 4 Hearts My Opinion: Hot! Krystal's books definitely get better and steamier every time. I love the yummy hotness that is Erick. However as yummy as I thought this one was I can't wait until the dragon's story. I'm sure that one will be full of steamy hotness! My Viking Vampire is full of paranormals, good and bad. Evil humans. A totally different world where paranormals are out in the open and they don't mix very well with the humans except for in Texas. This book has steamy love scenes, danger, friendship, magic, vampires, werewolves, adorable pixies and more! I definitely recommend reading and I know I am eagerly waiting for what comes next! I reach page 140 and just couldn't finish the last 50 pages. I really liked the other story I read by this author, but this one was just a constant struggle to get into. I think the main problem is there were too many elements to the story and it ended up bringing the whole thing down. If it had just been a paranormal or a dystopian future or a erotic/bdsm or a even a simple contemporary romance it would have worked better. This was a case of too much of a good thing. All of these types of stories are popular, but when you try and incorporate it into one story it is a bit much, especially for a novella. I did like the couple, but the action was strangely paced it jumped from intense action to mundane everyday events and then back. It didn't flow smoothly and the female lead was a little weak for my taste. I understand she had a traumatic past, but all the negativity made it hard for me to root for her. I wanted to love it, but in the end I just couldn't even finish it. Back to the Vegas Mates, hope story two in that one is as good as the first.

Enjoyed it very much.

It's like the author pulled pieces of every best seller and put it in to one. Hey, let's do vampires, shifters, heck-all supernaturals and put them in post America. Then we'll add in some shades of gray. All it needs is aliens and hunger games. Have some creativity. If you like brain trash this is for you. Literally the dumbest read ever.

Good Golly Miss Molly! I love it! My Vampire Viking is the first novel in Krystal Shannon's new series-Sanctuary, Texas and it is AWESOME! Shannon's boundless imagination, incredible talent and unique style shine brightly in this powerful story of loss, bravery, determination, hope, recovery, healing and love-paranormal style. The story is original, exciting, powerful, compelling, thrilling, heart wrenching, romantic, sensual and steamy. The dialog is smart, sassy and very well written. The characters are imaginative, captivating, intriguing and sexy as sin! They are quite literally, out of this world! They jump off the page, grab your imagination and capture your heart. Vampires! Lycans! Dragons! Pixies! Brownies! Sirens! Witches! Lamassu! Djinn! And a whole lot more! Oh my! Beautiful human, Bailey Ross aka Bailey D'Roth has been on the run for four years from her abusive psychotic ex and he just will not give up and now he has hired a Djinn to find her. Bailey has been beaten, battered, bruised and tortured but her scarred body and broken soul refuse to give up. She will never be chained, caged or tortured again. She will fight to remain free-even if it means her death because death would be a relief compared to the punishment she has already suffered. He's found her again and she must run-again. But as Bailey tries to flee for her life, she never expects to find help from vampire Other, Erick Thorson and she certainly never ever expected to be so attracted to this handsome sexy vampire. Viking, Erick Thorson, has been a vampire for almost two thousand years and has not loved since he lost his beloved Elinor almost a thousand years ago. But when he first saw beautiful brave Bailey, he knew she was special and resolves to help her. He desires Bailey and knows that he could easily love her but realizes that he must proceed cautiously or he may risk losing her forever. Will Erick and his town of Others be able to keep Bailey safe? Can Bailey defeat her demons, both real and emotional, and learn to trust again? Will she finally find safety and a home - a sanctuary? Maybe, just maybe, there is hope in Sanctuary, Texas! Handsome sexy vampire-check! Beautiful brave heroine-check! Large cast of paranormal/supernatural beings-check! Suspense, action and magickal clothes-check! Yep, I said magickal clothes! Romance, steamy sex and a smidge of BDSM-check, check and check! Yeah baby! This story has it all! Leave it to Krystal Shannon to give us an all you can eat buffet! I was turning the pages so fast, my IPad couldn't keep up! I was totally enthralled! And last but not least, it's a stand alone novel. No cliffhangers. Even so, I can hardly wait to read the next book in this amazing series! Who doesn't love sexy dragons! Awesome read and fabulous entertainment!

I had high hppes for this book but I was very disappointed and gave up just a few chapters in. Bailey is too weak and acts like an immature girl. Her actions and reactions make no sense with her background. I liked Erick and he was the only reason I kept reading as long as I did. Jh

Another great Sanctuary, TX and it's paranormal citizens story. We have a woman trying to get away from her abusive husband, then finds herself being stalked by some scary looking man. She feels trapped with nowhere to turn when out of the blue she is rescued by a man she somehow trusts to take her to what he says will be a safe place. Yep, that safe place is Sanctuary; where she discovers amazing people who say they will keep her safe. After all she's been through trusting doesn't come easy, especially when it comes to men. She learns secrets kept from the outside world and discovers things about herself she didn't know, things that will change her life forever. Among all these knew things that are happening to her she finds herself falling for her rescuer, but is still terrified to trust. She finds out a secret kept by her knew found love, one that she is terrified of and will never accept. Should she once again run from those she fears? You have to read the story to find out all that befalls her, both good and bad and can she finally let herself trust others? I can't wait to read the other stories in this authors Sanctuary, TX series. All fans of paranormal romance with some sensual loving, thrills and unexpected turn of events need to read this book (free) and begin an exciting adventure into the world of Sanctuary TX; can anybody give me directions to this paranormal town?

I really did like the story. And enjoyed reading it. What I didn't like was how weak she seemed that she couldn't control her thoughts and basic urges of the sexual feelings she felt for Erick. Others could sense it, and I think it made her seem weak from a woman's point of view. I'm trying to read it a second time, to give it another chance. But I'm still having the same issues. I would enjoy it more if she was a stronger woman heroine. Bury the sex thoughts, control your own body and stay strong. Be a woman.

This book has one of the most original premises I have read. The cast of characters is includes many different mythological beings or Others as the author calls them. There are the usual, vampires and werewolves and dragon shifters, but then she includes some lesser known ones. Sirens, brownies, pixies, gryphons and a phoenix. But the most surprising is one I had to look up. I have seen pictures, but never knew what they were called. A Babylonian or Assyrian lamassu. Wow!! All living together in a town in Texas. This is a dystopian series set near the turn of the 22nd century. Most Others are known of but a few are keeping their existence secret. Our country has divided into three with only the Texas Republic, including Texas Louisiana and Colorado, slowing these others to live in peace. The series revolves around a small enclave of Others banding together in a town called Sanctuary. I hope the author expands upon the changes made in our country in future books. It will be interesting to see where she takes us. Susan Y Colorado Springs, CO

Great book. Loved the characters. Would have given 5 stars except I'm getting bored with the FSOG sex scenes so many authors want to use now. Not everyone wants to read about "the lifestyle ". Does nothing for me. Do plan on buying next book though.
